Let me just start like this. THIS IS NOT MINECRAFT. It does sure look like it by fast looking on screendumps. But its not and in a good way. Let me try to explain what this game is all about.

You start by crashlanding on a planet. You got a limited supply to just keep you alive for a short time. So the first thing you do is searching for coal so you can power up your battery machine. Because nights gives no solar power. And you need to have your machine running to survive the cold. The suit drains energy in the cold as well so keep your battery loaded.

You will unlock upgrades for the suit to make life easier but you need those ores and some are deep underground so you have to search for them. Gladly there is a mining tool so you can search for them, but keep in mind it drains alot of power from your suit. And it does not state clearly what it have found, so you have to explore the world.

At the time writing this, there is no real enemies in the game. The dev is still working on this. To be honest i dont miss them. Because i have fun just trying to survive the cold and build the best self working factory. Today there is 2 gamemodes Survival and Creative.

So what is the good and bad parts?

Good:
-> Explore a massive world for ores, strange habbitants, plants. Research to unlock new tools and features for your factory or suit.

-> Researching unknown blocks is thrilling because you dont know what you have found before you have researched it. You can research block and plants to unlock new stuff to create in the world. For example: Conveyor lines to your ores. New machines to operate your drills. New suit upgrades to make life easier.

-> This game has stolen my life. Cant get enough exploring and trying to survive from the cold. The feeling when you have a working self sustained conveyor lines deep down is such is a nice feeling.

Bad:
-> Learning curve is a bit high for new players to get into to the game. Thank god for youtube videos ;)

-> There is some ingame parts still not functional for example the upgrades you make for your robot and character should not take any inventory space. Cant understand why it must be inventory and not in a separate character window.

-> When using grappling hook you can sometimes get stuck in walls. (To get out, just use grappling again or just cut yourself out of the block)

-> You can only use grappling hook upwards and not to get down. I know this is game is about exploring and making tunnels but sometimes it would be so much easier to use it to get further down in a big cave.

-> If you click on mining machine if already making for example iron bars with another ore it deletes that ore you are having in hand. Its a bug that needs attention.

-> Still havent got multiplayer in survival to work. There is no working serverlist so you have to send your ip and port to your friend to play the game. And sadly this has not been working for me. Co-op is where i think this game will shine even more.

-> Still early access after 2 years. Updates is comming but progress is going slow.

End words:
Wish there was experience to gain for everything you do in the world. Because there is so much so you can do. I recommend this game to all who enjoys making a functional factory for surviving.

Remember only the world is blocks and its understandable why when you play, everything rest in the game is nice looking 3d modells and more is comming.

Right now I am 50/50 on my review. I have been playing the game with no mob AI and have actually been loving it. It's a nice change from playing Minecraft all day long.

What I enjoy most about the game, is the fact that you need machines to gather resources, mainly your ores, and that you can use conveyor belts to move all your materials around. I've worked a warehouse job where it was conveyor belt city almost, and one conveyor belt at this job, took 10 minutes to get the product from the machine to me, where I had to sort it with other packages. So the game in it's current state is pretty wild. So I recommend it based on how it's different from Minecraft, you can build and destroy blocks from almost any range, and how its got all this factory stuff. I believe there are mods for Minecraft for factory, but I enjoy playing this game as it offers a much different feeling and gives a different look.

Recent changes however will be approaching, and this is where I am undecided on a full recommendation. Changes will be coming that will give the mobs an AI, meaning they can drain power or screw with your machines functioning unless you plop down turrets. To begin, alot of items to build are very expensive, and that problem needs addressed. Another recent change to the game was how generators work. Before, you could use generators anywhere for power. Now, generators will only work so far underground, then you are forced to use lasers. My laser system is getting to be pretty crazy, trying to drag down as much power as I can, and it feels like a never ending battle to even be able to keep power running. There have been recent game code fixes to the lasers in how they operate. I personally dislike the lasers altogether, but I'm really trying to give them a chance.

The other problem that I have, is that, I would love to just be able to operate a factory, with no interruptions, but that isn't going to be added as a seperate option. A simple option to start a new game with no mobs, cannot or will not be included. A few people have asked for this, but all have been given a "no this is not an option" answer. The way indie games are made today, community input is helpful, and when that input is actually used in the game, that's even better, and I believe that indie developers should always keep an open mind about different things they can and cannot include. What I'm saying is, if the game Minecraft can have a no mob option, come on, it really shouldn't be that hard for you to include it as well. But I'm not saying that it needs to be included right away. I'm just saying, it is an option, and it shouldn't be ruled out so quickly. Once the game gets more closer to completion, then add in the option to turn off the mobs. Personally, I'm not looking forward to the mobs in the game, because I was hoping to just run a factory.

The more you cater to your players and fans of the game, the more they will see you in a better light. Then, mix it up a bit and change something that players wouldn't feel is too game breaking, or that on a forum, you have ideas and can go over those ideas with your playerbase. This happens already, but that transparency is what people want nowadays, and the developers have 100% transparency with their playerbase.

It's really just the no mob thing. Never entirely rule something out if it can be a possible option added in later on. I play Minecraft so much, that I'm getting tired of mobs. Which is why I have so much play time with this game. It's pretty much you building and running a factory, but then here come the mobs.

It's a good game, and if you like having to use machines to get things done, then you should get it.

It is still in its early stages so it will be going through many changes I'm sure.

In a nutshell review, Early July 2015:

Strong Recommend
Gameplay hours: at least 20+
Beta version updates happening weekly or better - very active
Devs active online and taking feedback, adjusting bleeding edge beta almost daily

For now, it is a mining game: you'll have the most fun if you enjoy building an industrial town/machine and gradually automate your mining operation.

Depending on how much you like to tinker, there is at least 20+ hours to get to current endgame (quarry), but that can easily extend as you learn to use the various components to achieve certain things you thought couldn't be done. A lot of the core fun is to figure out a way out of these challenges.

Work has just started on PVE, you might want to avoid the Bleeding edge version of the beta until you master the basics and stick to stable or standard beta until you know what you're doing as they are tweaking things and adding stuff continuously.

Edit: I have played more and i have found the game quite enjoyable! I must say that the beggining is very tedious but, afterward, It's an amazing game! If you are a ''filthy casual'' then you will not enjoy this game simply because it is so complex, hell, it took me 5 minutes to get 15 copper bars! Overall, great game with a lot of potential. 8.5/10

Tip to new players your power storage has all the power, that's why you can't get any power from your main generator thing.

I cannot get enough of this game. is still a bit laggy, but can be overruled for its great mechanical reliability. Remember, only mine yourself if you desperately need resources.

I rate the game 6/10. thank you for reading and i hope you found my very short review useful in some way.
