This game following her game before (Yes I called the game a gal) was followed up with a nice twist. This game holds the bare merits of the other game, but the ones it does changes it so as being both similar and a complete game. This game can be played completey differently, with some people rushing in and barely using the staple feature of "planning" and some people take minutes before completely done with "planning".

This game is fit towards people who love to rush games, people who love to plan games, story lovers, combat lovers, and people with hands.

Overall Transistor is a really captivating game and is easily one of my current favourites.

The music in Transistor is beautiful, and really sets the mood throughout the game. The visuals were lovely, and the game has really nice character designs. Storyline and narration may be one of my favourite aspects of the game, and the ending broke me (it came quite unexpectedly but was a really touching).

Gameplay is unique as you can choose to strategically plan your moves or dive headfirst into battle, depending on your preferred play style, but i found both to be enjoyable (though i stuck to planning more). Game was also a good length and has replay value (Recursion).

It is also extremely customisable, as you are able to try all sorts of different combinations with the skills, and the results are often stunning, experimentation with different combinations was really interesting.

I would say this is one of the games you should pick up when its on sale bc it's worth the money :)

The soundtrack was amazing; the gameplay was engaging; the story made enough sense to be engaging yet was enigmatic enough to leave me wanting more. A really fun, visually beautiful game to play.

If someone told you there is a game whose aesthetic seamlessly combines art nouveau, art deco, noir and cyberpunk, would you believe them? Because that is exactly what Transistor is - a game which perfectly embodies the flamboyant artistic styles of the first half of the 20th century and skilfully applies them to what seems to be a virtual world inhabited by AIs. It is the sort of world that immediately draws you in by its beauty and never fully lets you go. The city of Cloudbank where the game takes place seems to be hand crafted down to the tiniest detail and no two locations are alike. This is how world-building is supposed to look.

Gameplay-wise, the game definitely features a learning curve and initially that aspect might detract a little from your ability to fully enjoy the world, but once you learn the ropes - you'll be in for one amazing experience.

I didn't think that Supergiant Games could outdo themselves, but that is exactly what they did with Transistor.

pros -
- gorgeous soundtrack and visuals
- narration > bastion's narration, in my opinion
- emotionally stirring, thought-provoking story with roots in science fiction
- solid length, and the nature of the game's story-telling makes it to where replaying at least once is still enjoyable
- turn-based, strategy-based almost MOBA-esque combat is really fresh and fun, and can be infuriatingly difficult
- seriously one of the beautiful all around games i've ever played

cons -
- the story is not presented in the most cohesive way (deliberately) so i can see why someone may not fully understand the breadth of what is actually happening
- that's literally it

This is among the best games I've ever played. The design of the game is very clever, using a Transistor to attack with Functions that use up Memory. The game also does a great job in the plot twists. For example, when showing the main antagonists of the game, one is always shown bigger than the others, leading the player to believe that he is the final boss. However, when the player actually encounters him, (about 2/3 through the game) he's dead. Then, upon reaching the last portion of the game, the final member of the group of antagonists wants to help you. Right when the player believes that there won't be a fight with him, both of you are sucked into the Transistor, your weapon throughout the game. But one of the reasons that this game is spectacular is it's incredible final boss fight. I won't spoil who you're up against, but from the first attack to the last, this boss fight was INTENSE. The reason being that your sword, the Transistor, has the special ability to Turn() to pause time and let you plan out your actions. After your done, the actions will be executed instantly. But when facing the final boss, they ALSO have the ability to Turn(). The dialouge for the first time they activate Turn() is great. "Who gets to go first? How about... me." The boss fight just can't be described with words. My sole issue is that it drains the battery rather quickly, but other than that, it's truly an amazing experience.

Supergiant did it again! The gameplay is much more intriguing than in Bastion. I had a lot of fun trying out many combinations of functions, which is something the game encourages you to do through its overload mechanic and the sandbox area. The art is just as great as Bastion's, though slightly different style. Soundtrack has some very standout tracks (especially anything with vocals), but other tracks are not as sublime. Story will leave you with a lot of questions, which I guess encourages community speculation, but some of it felt too vague to the point of dissatisfaction. Loved the ending though <3

Transistor has beautifully done artwork, amazing colour contrasts(most likely picked every single colour to create this game tbh) and an Action-RPG game of sci-fi futuristic metropolis that includes the story of gorgeous influential singer, a female protagonist called Red and the remarkable sword, the Transistor.

Game begins as Red wields the sword(transistor) stabbed in deadman and ventures deep into the metropolis to discover and resolve some mysteries. The story reveals in bits and pieces, its our job to put them all together to find out whats really happening and it was a bit difficult to figure that out.
The game is mostly about two characters, the guy trapped in transistor after being stabbed and the girl Red, which is more like romance between these two and to keep each other safe rather than saving the city.
Together they go after the group belongs to Camerata organization which, for no good reason, turns against Red to kill her but failed in process. As the game goes on we discover that the man trapped in transistor was the one who gave up his life to save Red from dying and at the same time Red lost her voice and couldn't communite at all.
The sword talks all the time and is the actual narrator in this game. He/it never stops talking to Red which at times annoyed me because i couln't concentrate on the story during the fight.
The ending is quite emotional and sad nevertheless sort of satisfying.

As for me, i liked the combat and gaining the new functions for the sword on every Level-up. I enjoyed destroying the machines and robots by combining various functions which come out as new combos to deal greater damage to finish them off. I always enjoy stories and hate killing but the phenomena was totally oppoiste in this game(idk if someone agrees with me on this but i must say combat and combos were awesome for me).
The game also has the Planning mode which makes it alot easier to make combos and attack afterwards. Planning mode has always been my fav!

This game is very beautifully designed, capital city, Cloudbank is the major place where the whole story lies. The atmosphere was really pretty! i loved it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the soundtracks and music throughout the game. More music and songs could be unlocked by completing the side actvities and various tests. All of the songs were really amazing, i must say Supergiant put really good effort creating them! Some of the songs were also sung by Red, she had pretty good voice and really nice songs.

To the verdicts! Well the game is masterpiece of artwork! amazing soundtracks, well drawn art characters and a nice story.
Pretty much worthy of 19.99$ but its nice to have it on sale.
I Profoundly recommend it!!!

Well... I'm not very good at writing reviews, but here we go...

When had my first touch with Transistor i already heard some good reviews about this game. But when i started to play, and i was going deeper and deeper, i knew that this game deserve for those good opinions.

But let's start from the begining. Transistor is a typical arkade RPG, where we will try to find a previous users of the sword (Transistor) and try to discover the true Transistor's destiny. To do that we will have to defeat a whole armies of enemies which we will have to stand and fight with them. Yeah, fight system in this game is just great! We have a lot of various skills that we can combine with each other to gain a brand new skill! Isn't it just great? But let's go forward. Through the game i have made a lot of screen shots, more than i'm usualy making during a game, becouse this game have an awesome audiovisual layer, it's more like an art not a game. I love the songs composed by Darren Korb and Ashleu Barrett it just fit great in the game, i literaly can lisen a soundtrack a whole hours. The storyline is also a strong part of Transisotr, i remember that when i was finishing the game it felt like - WHAT? WHAAAT? Wow, this game is awesome!

Well... after all, do i recomend the game? Definitly - yes! One of my fav game so far. 10/10

mmmmmmm....

Let me write some points about this game.

1. From the first i discovered this game from explore queue, i just fall in love with the visual graphic.
Woman protagonist + Fancy-Sword-a-Like Thing + Beautiful Background + (extra) the Title is so mysterious. Yes, i don't ask more for this, already great.

2. I already thought that this will be a-long-great game, reminds that this is RPG somelike. I excited.

3. I played for the first time. I confused. Then, i had mix emotion.

4. After a few days playing, i just got the rythm and start to feel fun of this gameplay. Battle system, the add-on thing, turn system. Yes, i have to learn that in order to feel the fun.

5. Already expecting for the long story of this game, this will be great for my next holiday break.

6. Duh. I finished it. Look at my play hours. Why is this so quick . . .

7. Still. This is a great game.

note : maybe the storyline is simple (until you got into some chapter), but the narrative talk is somewhat i can't follow it consistently.

I recommend it (plus if you bought in sale :) )

Just buy it, like I did, and will with their next title (Pyre).

Just finished for the first time, you all did an amazing job creating this!
Having played Bastion on Xbox 360, I had hoped this would be as great of a title.
SuperGiant does not disappoint. This game is awesome, if you even got far enough down the review list to read mine, then you have wasted time you could have spent playing this.

Pro’s:
Everything except the Con’s
Con’s:
Still trying to think of a Con……….. Nope can’t think of any

Another masterpiece by this company which will leave you both breathless and impacient to get home and play.

As a huge fan of Bastion, I find this game just as pleasing, if not more, to play and complete. Nothing less than chills down your spine from the outstanding performance of the narrator as he pours emotions into you by simply speaking.

Stunning backgrounds, new combat system that keeps you suspended, amazing vocals and music. The story itself will leave you craving as you finish the game and realize the unexpected outcome. Nothing more to demand from this game than it not ending. ever. please!

Just finished it and experiencing the typical hollowness as I feel a part of me being taken away along with the credits. Hats off to you, Super Giant Games. Can't recommend it enough.
