Bastion is an action RPG game played in an isometric view were you play this character named Kid.
The world you play in is in ruins after the so caled Calamity. Its your job to put the world together. To do this you have to explore and gather pieces named Cores. Along the way you will find new characters, weapons, scenarios and a lot more.
The world of Bastion is amazing. It looks like an alive oil painting with fluid movements in it.
If you are like me and care about the soundtrack of a game, prepare to be amazed. The sound track of this game is quality in person and very well paced. You have your "sad songs" and "happy songs" in the right time, at the right place.
Another amazing aspect is the narration. It follows your actions along your journey, if you for example fall down a hole you can be sure that the narrator will tell a little joke about it. The use of a gun, an item, the path you take, all have a narration. The voice acting is suberb and the tone of the voice beautiful. All of this makes your experience and imersion even better.
Bastion is one of those games that shouts: hey you don't need fancy graphics, complex storylines or explosive soundtracks to create an engaging and fun game. And they are right.
- Amazing artwork and graphics
- Original and engaging narrative
- Beautiful soundtrack
- Too short (about 8 hours)
- Low replay value
