Update 01.075 - Airtight hangar door, New turret targeting options

Airtight hangar door has been added to the game. Players will now be able to build large pressurized hangars for their ships and stations. Additionally, new options for turrets are now available that allow players to set targeting solely on stations, characters, small ships or large ships. Moreover, players can now switch the oxygen and sensor blocks ON/OFF from the toolbar, timer and sensor. Also, rockets will no longer destroy non-armor blocks in one shot and they will require less material for producing them. Lastly, we added a scrollbar for actions that can be assigned to toolbar in G screen.

Update 1.074 – Oxygen!

Oxygen has been added in Space Engineers! This means that now you can take off your character’s helmet, but only inside the medical room. When the character takes off the helmet inside an environment without oxygen, he will receive damage. In addition, you are now able to obtain ice and generate oxygen out of it by using the oxygen generator. Moreover, we’ve implemented the “drain all” option for the sorter block that will push all items trough the block and the "switch" statement for the programmable block.

Space Engineers is a sandbox game about engineering, construction and maintenance of space works. Players build space ships and space stations of various sizes and utilization (civil and military), pilot ships and perform asteroid mining.

Space Engineers utilizes a realistic volumetric-based physics engine: all objects can be assembled, disassembled, damaged and destroyed. The game comes with two game modes: creative and survival.

Volumetric objects are structures composed from block-like modules interlocked in a grid. Volumetric objects behave like real physical objects with mass, inertia and velocity. Individual modules have real volume and storage capacity.

Space Engineers is inspired by reality and by how things work. Think about modern-day NASA technology extrapolated 60 years into the future. Space Engineers strives to follow the laws of physics and doesn't use technologies that wouldn't be feasible in the near future.

Space Engineers concentrates on construction aspects, but can be played as a tactical shooter as well. We expect players to avoid engaging in direct man-to-man combat and instead use their creativity and engineering skills to build war machines and fortifications. Space Engineers shouldn’t be about troops; it should be about the machinery you build.

  • Custom colors for blocks – Customize your creations by using any color you like
  • Cargo ships - auto-piloted vessels (miners, freighters and military) that carry ore, ingots, constructions components and other materials from sector to sector. They can be looted but beware, they often contain booby traps!
  • Environmental hazards – protect your character and your creations from meteor storms (Safe, Normal, Cataclysm, Armageddon)
  • Conveyor, Collector, Connector (IMPORTANT: this is a first work-in-progress version and a realistic version will be added later) - Conveyors move items from inventory to inventory. Collectors can collect small objects (ore, ingots, components, tools) into inventory. Connectors can throw items from inventory to space (in future update could be used to connect two ships/stations and transfer items)
  • Artificial mass – can be used to add gravity-affected mass to ships, useful in machine ships or cars
  • Wheels - use them with rotors and artificial mass to build vehicles
  • Automated turrets – gatling, missile and interior. Turrets are used mostly as defense mechanism rather than shooting other players. They aim on decoys (automatically by default), meteorites, missiles or all moving objects (eg. small/large ships) - targeting can be changed in the control panel
  • Large weapons - missile launcher (for large ships)
  • Large and small ship grinder and welder – assemble and disassemble blocks faster and in larger amount
  • Batteries - enables players to store the energy generated by solar panels or reactors at an efficiency rate of 80%
  • Pistons - offers the option to build more advanced machinery
  • Factions - create and join factions, determine ownership of blocks and manage the relations between them (hostile/ally). NOTE: Factions are currently Work-in-Progress. There are still many things to be added (eg. chat and communication) and some bugs/issues are yet to be fixed.
  • Remote ship control – control ships without being inside the ship’s cockpit (drones)
  • Remote turret control - control turrets directly
  • 3D printing - export (CTRL+ALT+E) and 3D print the creations that you design in the game (http://www.SpaceEngineersGame.com/3d-printing.html)
  • Modding API - brings a lot of new possibilities to modders and allows them to alter the game by writing C# scripts which have access to in-game objects (WIP - more features will be added in the future)
  • Blueprints - save your ship or station on a blueprint and paste it into your game
  • Projector block – project blueprints and weld the projection
  • Sensor – detects ships, palyers, asteroids, stations, floating objects and their state (friendly, neutral or enemy) and ownership
  • Sound block - reproduce predefined sounds such as alarm or siren for announcements
  • Programmable block – players can write small programs executed by the block
  • Communication – chat between players and factions
  • GPS - create, send, receive and manage GPS coordinates in the game
  • Voxel hands - shape and form the asteroids and change their material (creative mode only)

看了王老菊的视频之后犹豫了好久,在好友的赠送之后,我终于体验了这款游戏

这是一款模拟生存类的游戏,现在很多游戏都流行这个元素,比起MC来说更加现代化,更有科技感,如果你觉得光在地球发展不过瘾的话,那么你可以尝试飞上太空,成为一名太空工程师来建造你自己的太空站与飞船!!!

别的不多说,我来总结一下游戏的优点与缺点

优点
+丰富的物品内容

+无限大的地图

+可自由发挥的玩法

+简单的合成系统

+多人模式极易上瘾

+优秀的BGM以及太空氛围

+可与其他玩家共享你的作品
缺点
-画面不够精细,画质选项不够详细

-优化不够好,有时会产生卡顿及崩溃的现象

-操作复杂,不易上手(基本上键盘上的按键都用得上)

-没有官方中文,汉化补丁跟不上

总评:作为一款抢先体验中的游戏,我认为这款游戏很成功,有着极强的扩展性,你可以造任何你想造的东西,类似的游戏有很多但这款游戏十分有特点,制作组做了自己想做而不是别的游戏做了的内容,这一点很可贵,建议小伙伴们一起玩,一个人玩会很迷茫的,好游戏,推荐

好吧既然是差评就要写得负(geng)责(sang)任(bing)一点
首先,这款游戏的玩点摆在那了——这是一款太空沙盒游戏,玩家可以在太空中建造属于自己的飞船、开采矿物来维持能源供应和新飞船的材料需求、攻击敌舰甚至和好基友们凑在一起上演一出太空大战。
我想这是所有看到这游戏的简介的人都会说的。如果描述得更加仔细,那这款游戏将会是——

+ 完全可DIY的、真正意义上的飞船
和Minecraft一样,这款游戏的飞船等机械以方块为单位,每个方块都有自己的作用,方块组合能凑成一个整体运作的飞船,甚至连飞船内饰都可以由玩家精心雕琢。在MC的基础上这款游戏可谓有了两大突破:一是方块大小有两种格式,大型小型飞船均可兼顾而不显繁琐;二是物理引擎的引入使得这些方块“活”了起来,它们不仅能在空间上移动,还能实时呈现碰撞和被子弹/导弹击中时的破坏效果。事实上这个优点也是整个游戏的核心和精髓所在。
+ 完整的生存体系
这游戏生存可谓“建造”这一主题的配菜,来满足玩家建成飞船后派上实用的成就感。整个生存的思路无非挖矿-升级船舰-建造更加强力的防御和挖矿设施-有更多的功夫挖更多的矿。自己建造的船舰似乎随时能派上用场。
+ 战斗系统
突突突什么的不必多说了。单人模式下玩家四周常常会刷一些敌方/无主战舰和陨石,战斗是保全自己设备的途径和掠夺资源的好方法。

听上去已经很不错了,这也是开发者设计这款游戏的初衷。没错,如果只玩上周末免费的那点时间,你也会觉得上面的内容很精彩而且充满趣味。
但当买下这款游戏,真正细心下来开始琢磨怎么玩好(烂)这款游戏的时候,你会发现仅凭这些简介所承诺的仍不足以让这款游戏充满魅力:

- 生存和创造两者挑一
这里的创造不是指创造模式,而是指飞船建造的创造性。在这款游戏中,生存很大程度上束缚了建造。进入生存后你会发现这游戏能挖到的资源很是匮乏;从原矿到能直接利用的零件要经过漫长而繁琐的手动加工;能源的短缺让你只能精打细算地规划一些最实用而不怎么美观甚至有时候不怎么科学的机械。此外,玩家个人背包容量极小,离开载具稍久的话还会面临生命维持系统掉电的危险,这点就很大地限制了生存玩家在建造飞船过程中的随意发挥。当然先去创造模式建好飞船再用蓝图功能拷到生存的做法可以规避这个弊端,但是我想在MC等其他沙盒游戏中极少会有玩家去创造把生存所需的建筑建好再来慢慢挪到生存,毕竟这就很难实现生存和建造的融合。
- 缺少可持续/持久的发展方案
除了太阳能外,所有的一切都只能啃噬小行星的矿石储备;除了抢劫路过的舰船外,太空机械的特点使得可持续发展几乎不可能。这和MC中挖几棵树打几棵草圈几头牛就能食住无忧的思维大相径庭,当挖矿成为整个游戏的主导后缺少诸如种地养殖的养成过程也会使太空之旅变得乏味。一旦基地周围的资源花完了,你还不得不大搬家把能拆的拆走能带的带走然后开个巨型母舰跑到越远越好的地方寻找新的资源——毕竟掠夺敌舰自己也要承受大量的损失。
- 极度单调的世界
山川、河流、浩瀚的大海、茂密的森林、白茫茫的冰川——这款游戏通通都没有。整个游戏能被称为“景物”的恐怕只有太阳了。除了太阳便是很多零碎得离谱的小行星。作为生存的主导,挖矿的乐趣也只是在距离很长的表面遍布满矿石的小行星之间游荡直到找到钟意的资源而已,没有在地洞中探险的刺激和通过努力挖掘后发现矿石后的惊喜。要数地形生成器最简单的无限程序生成开放世界游戏的话,这款游戏怕是能排很前。
- 欠缺平衡的战斗
炮塔有三种选项——攻击导弹、攻击陨石和攻击移动物体。其中攻击移动物体甚至不是真正意义上的“随意一个会动的东西”,而是有选择性的:它会十分智能地找到你的飞船控制舱的位置——哪怕你的控制舱藏得再好再深也好——对准控制舱的方向就是一片轰击(因此也衍生了把一个控制舱当做诱饵在飞船外面吊而引走火力的猥琐打法)。除此之外,正如前面提到的,物理引擎能使方块呈现碰撞和被击中时的破坏效果,但也只有碰撞和被击中的破坏效果:攻击飞船任何一个部位,哪怕引擎也好反应堆也好,都不会引起飞船的爆炸,因此想要彻底地让一艘母舰瘫痪会很困难;相比之下,小型船舰则显得脆弱不堪:稍稍中几颗弹便支离破碎,或是玩家被甩出控制舱。谁都不希望太空战斗就只是像宣传动画那样用母舰对撞吧。最后,飞船控制权限的概念十分零散,整艘飞船小到一个货物储存室都有独立的控制权限,抢来一艘船还要费上一番精力才能掠夺里面的资源。而破除这些权限限制的唯一方法便是拆,而不是如黑客技术破解的比较智能的手段,这也略有违背于太空时代的主题。
- 缺乏互动的方块
大多数方块不能使用单个按键进行互动,而是只能调出一个整个飞船共用的控制面板进行操作。比如用一个比较保险的方法控制一个活塞的伸缩:对准活塞控制板按K调出控制面板-调定目标伸长/缩短速度的相反值-按Reverse按钮-关闭控制面板。频繁地切入和切出控制面板以及调整各种没有实在感觉的参数让这个过程显得很是繁琐。目前我只发现有门的控制面板可以通过按一下T键来开关门,若是其他方块也能自定义按键组并绑定时间和动作,甚至能用键鼠直接控制机械臂的话会简化不少对太空机械的操作。

总而言之,这款游戏的创意十分不错,目前的完成度还算高,但真正能获得游戏乐趣的东西仍然太少。如果你是建筑党,只注重建造的外观和最终成果而不在意游戏性等的话,这将是一款十分好的游戏。但如果想要体验沙盒游戏的游戏性的话,这款游戏不是一个理想的选择。我是游戏性党,因此我给了这游戏一个“不推荐”。


PS: 文中提到MC一是考虑到其在沙盒游戏中的代表性,二是考虑到看到这篇测评的读者很可能已经接触MC而方便举例,不是我主观地推荐MC,拿MC和这款游戏做比较。

PPS: 我确实是一个新手,在Steam和在Space Engineers上都是。因此这篇测评可能会有错漏或有不准确/过度主观的描述。强烈建议仍在考虑要不要买这款游戏的Steamer先去逛逛百度太空工程师吧,或许能对这游戏有更加准确的看法。

So I picked up S.E. after it being described to me as Minecraft in space, and seeing as I liked minecraft, and space, I figured this would be a hit with me.

Yeah buddy it is.

One day I can decide to build a trading station in the middle of nowhere purely for the fun of it. And the next day, I'm building a fleet to pass by and destroy said station. I can make my own goals, my limits are really only what I can think up, and whatever the game lacks atm I can probably find a mod for.

Sure, when I started playing and atm it's still early access, but it's regularly updated with a great dev team and an impressive modding community as well. Think you've got the hang of everything available? Subscribe to some of the mod packs available through the workshop, that'll keep you busy for months all on it's own.

If you've ever played or watched anything sci-fi related and thought it'd be cool to build that. Get this. Why wouldn't you want to build a Star Destroyer or the USG Ishimura? Just sayin.

If you love/loved Legos (the toy not games lol) then you will love this game.

Even tho I prefer Medieval engineers because of the setting, space engineers is excellent because it's the same gameplay and core mechanics, so i recommend.

It's like you're a space game fan get space engineers and if you're a medieval fan get medieval engineers, or if you want the complete experience get both.

Amazing game. Here are pros and cons:
Pros:
1. Great mechanics
2. Physics are amazing
3. Truly envolves engineering in almost everything you do, making the title fit excelent with the game.
4. Update every thursday with new features and bug fixes.
5. Adding mods is easy, and are on the workshop.
6. Worlds, blueprints, scripts, and mods on the workshop.
7. Decent graphics.
8. Easy multiplayer setup.
9. Almost an endless amount of designs you can make. Like for real, if you can think it through, you can build it.

Cons:
1. Does require a good processor, otherwise you'll lag with REALLY REALLY large ships, otherwise you'll be fine.
2. Survival only has ships that spawn that you can raid, not actual npc astronauts.
3. The occasional bugs and glitches, but there are barely any.

More pros than cons to a 3/1 ratio. One of the best sandbox games out there. Better, a little cheaper, a lot more freedom and creativity than minecraft BY FAR. 20/10.

This is a game that was made for people just like me. It looks like Minecraft in space, but it's more than that. It gives you the tools to solve problems, and the fulfillment you get after coming up with your own solution is a feeling sorely lacking in other sandbox games.

The survival mode in this game gives you a lot of content. I've been playing it for more than forty hours and I haven't even managed to set up a decent mining operation. You can also hijack other ships and take them apart to build new ones. You can stop them in a craft that you made or even just in your spacesuit (if you know what you're doing) - they're all coasting on autopilot and with automated weaponry that makes approaches tricky. The fun is in the trial and error, and figuring out the best way to do a seemingly simple task.

Is your mining drill inefficient? Build a mining ship. Is the hand welder too slow for you? Make a welder-equipped craft. Do you need to strip and salvage a giant capital ship you just captured? Maybe a corvette with six grinders is what you need. Creativity and resourcefulness is rewarded.

The creative mode is also great for shooting things with other people and making fantastic designs of ships on your own. There are ways to save schematics or blueprints of your designed ships so that you can build and use them in survival mode. The devs are also great in that they update really often, and for an alpha version (I rarely buy games on Early Access) my money has already been well spent. BUY IT AND PLAY WITH ME AND YOUR OTHER FRIENDS!

One of the better "early access" games, in that it actual feels like its moving forward and will be finished. Most will say SE is just "Minecraft in space" but not really. Ship building and base building only half the game. Mining/transporting resources need to survive in space make this game fun. Now a lot of the new factions/protection still in progress but for I like were the game is going. Lastly Steam support for mods is amazing and people have come up with a lot cool stuff in short time its been available. If you like building sims (like Minecraft) or space give this game a try.

What I'd like to see in the future:
-More exploration (expanding space or warping to other pockets of asteroids)
-Need for O2 on space station/ship
-More tools/machines
-More ores/resources
-More variation of asteroids both in size and amount
-Planets

As of now (200+ hours) loving the game and looking forward to the future of it.

I can easily say that this game is amazing. You combine the wonder of space with (somewhat) futuristic technology with man and you get this. Floating around in a 3d environment with no gravity is mesmerizing, as well as getting caught in the orbit of your own gravity field. Everything is destructible, and for a sandbox game as detailed as it is..it's surprisingly non linear feeling and particles even fly off things that are destroyed. Actual physical non blocky particles that have their own physics. Just amazing. You start off in a tiny spaceship. Your goal is to find an astroid, mine. Do whatever. Build a base, establish a gravity field in it. Get a constant flow of fuel for your gravity (Uranium I believe) Hijack rouge or abandoned ships that are faraway and often difficult to reach and get control of, as they're turned off and are drifting through space. While this is difficult, it can really pay off in terms of materials, fuel, and having a huge spaceship to either use or add onto and make it into your own kind of spaceship. Their is an uncountable variety of things you can do/build in this game, as well as very fun space combat. Space combat is very expensive and can often destroy what took you nearly an hour to build. Ramming ships into others is often looked down upon (atleast in friendly servers) but it is very fun to send your own ship flying through another and making a big hole. Everything feels free and non linear. I raite this game 9.6 out of 10. You can do amazing things especially if you've got a few hours or more to sink into this game with a friend or two.

Great game, its like minecraft, but in a totally different environment, real life physics and Action components makes you able to build just about any real life machinery.

I still remember clearly how it was when i first had built my own mining ship, and how i progressed and learned making better and better versions.
And its all about pushing the limit, of how advanced, compact you can make them.

You can build your designs in singleplayer creative mode.
And the best part SHARE VIA STEAM WORKSHOP, anyone can use your blueprint.. or you can find and download blueprints.
Really easy proccess.
Then create hologram projectors, to project the blueprint you've made, then drive a welding ship around it, and voila.

Go explore asteriods, and find minerals for building.
Create bases with automatic doors, lever controlled blastdoors, design solar plants to power your base, to save fuel.
Hijack patroling ships, or attack players.
Sky is the... no wait, Space is the limit!
