Update 2016-06-23



We're happy to let you all know that the latest update is out! The update contains quite a few improvements, major and minor alike, but the main feature of the update is the new track Sandpit 3 offering high-speed racing through the forested hilly scenery, something that will probably bring back sweet memories of a certain well-known racing game of yesteryear. We love it, and we hope that you too will! In addition to Sandpit 3 the update also adds a Figure 8 layout for Speedway 8, since let's face it – Figure 8 is like the bread and butter of demolition racing games, and those never get old.

Other than that, we've implemented the basics of the our new, more tactical damage system. Vehicles now have chassis health and armor, the latter being visualized with the previously used sector triangles. Think of them as outer panels of the car: the better the condition of the armor the more incoming damage it absorbs, and when the armor condition drops to zero (black), all damage will go directly to lower chassis health. From now on the vehicle is only totaled when chassis health drops to zero. To help you better pick targets the health bars are also now visualized next to the player name in HUD. In future, we will extend the system so that various components such as the suspension of the car can fail.

IMPORTANT!
If the game fails to launch after updating, please launch the game with "-disable_mods" command line parameter. To do so, right click on the game name in the Steam library, click on Properties, then Set Launch Options, type -disable_mods and click OK.

  • Weathers are now scanned similar to tracks, vehicles and parts, so multiple weather mods can co-exist.
  • BagEditor now shows files under Art folder too.

We're pleased to let you know that the latest update is out! In this update we've paid special attention to car-to-car collisions to make them more weighty and dynamic again, and now major crashes will more often result in the cars taking air or flipping over instead of just sliding around. We'll continue to improve crashes and at this point we'd love to hear what you think; are the cars now flipping over even too easily? Do the crashes feel weighty enough? Are they too hazardous from the player's perspective?

In the other news we've also improved the AI. Not only it's quicker and more aggressive towards each other and the player but now it also reacts to being bumped into to boot by swerving around and sometimes downright losing control and crashing - how cool is that? :)

CHANGELOG:
  • Added the 3Ds Max AI Geom Gen tool which was missing from previous update.
  • Added missing track cameras to Mixed 1 Reverse.
  • Fixed see-through track geometry and improperly placed props on Mixed 2 Reverse.
  • Added PSD templates for menu assets (event icon, loading screen, results screen, car icon) under mod example folders.
  • Increased racing AI aggressiveness: AI is now more inclined to try to ram the player or the other AI drivers if given a chance.
  • Improved racing AI: it's now faster and drives more loose to give it a more natural edge.
  • Racing AI now reacts to being bumped or rammed by possibly losing control and/or spinning out.
  • Added graphics setting presets Low, Medium, High and Ultra (Settings > Graphics > Presets).
  • Added command line option '-disable_mods' to make troubleshooting easier in case mods are preventing the game from launching properly.

Wreckfest is a new demolition derby themed racing game with soft-body damage modeling, sophisticated driving dynamics and in-depth vehicle upgrading, featuring both demolition derbies and more traditional track races. It’s all about fun, breakneck racing and over-the-top crashes.

Expect epic crashes and tight, neck-to-neck fights over the finish line on run-down racing tracks. Expect proper demolition derbies. Expect brand new ways for metal to bend and the signature once-in-the-lifetime moments that can be achieved only with true-to-life physics simulation.

It’s a motorsport, but not just any motorsport. It’s a motorsport with attitude.

Unique Racing Experience

First and foremost, we’re building a FUN racing game with PERSONALITY. It’s all about the stuff that really matters: varied tracks, cool cars, and the defining once-in-the-lifetime moments that can be achieved only with true-to-life physics simulation. If you’re familiar with our previous games, you already know what we’re aiming at: exhilarating racing action with sophisticated physics and damage modeling, only this time we’re upping the ante on almost every front. This is the game we envisioned way back in the early 2000s, only re-imagined for today’s technology and gaming standards.

Awesome Cars

The cars are old, cheap, banged up, patched together, rusty… just awesome! In short, our cars ooze with STYLE. You won’t find anything like them in other racing games. We’ve got variety, as well: everyone loves the old American heavy-hitters from the muscle car era, but we’re not neglecting the fun little European and Asian cars from the long-gone decades either. The best part is that you’ll be taking them apart and building them back up again in your garage; the career is as much about your garage and your project cars as it is about racing.

Exciting Engine

Our in-house ROMU engine is a hell-bent beast that's precision-engineered for high-speed, breakneck racing. We have also already implemented fully deformable soft body car damage, meaning that the cars will react to damage in a very tangible, convincing way. While we're focused on action, motorsport authenticity is not forgotten, either. To that end our engine is simulating vehicle dynamics in a very sophisticated fashion. Rolling resistances, casters and slip angles are definitely not ancient Greek to us, and you as the player will be the one benefiting from our expertise.

EARLY ACCESS FEATURES

The current Early Access release contains four playable cars and a number of tracks, showcasing both white-knuckle track racing and explosive demolition derby action with 24 cars that will give you taste of things to come. During the coming months we’re going to give the game a lot of polish as well as implement many new exciting features, and all Early Access supporters have a unique opportunity to get involved in the development of the title!


We’ve also giving a playable Technology Sneak Peek 2.0 to all our Early Access supporters. The sneak peek features a playground that we use internally to test various features various like car damage and environment destruction. Version 2.0 includes new destructive machinery, more dynamic stuff to blow up, spectacular stunts and an awesome physics cannon that we use to play with our physics engine. With the physics cannon you too will now have a chance to cause mayhem to heart’s content by launching missiles, throwing stuff around and destroying the environment as well as the cars!

  • Various race and derby game modes including Team Deathmatch with up to (!) 24 cars, all with dynamic damage.
  • Soft-body car damage physics system that doesn't need a super computer - even online!
  • Highly configurable support for force-feedback wheels, pedals and H-shifters.
  • Dynamic content that reacts realistically – fences and billboards break down, tires fly around.
  • In-game Photo Mode and Replay with a number of cameras, configurable field-of-view and depth-of-field.

UPCOMING FEATURES

Wreckfest is currently in early Pre-Alpha stage, and the Early Access version is going to serve as a basis on which we will continue building the game based on your feedback on what works and what doesn't. Throughout the Early Access phase we're going to gradually add more content and new features to the game, with some of the most important key features planned being:


  • Improved car damage and handling.
  • More cars, each with different stylings and performance.
  • More race tracks and derby stadiums with varying surfaces.
  • More dynamic content on the tracks to drive through and crash into.
  • Highly configurable multiplayer with a variety of modes.
  • Extensive player garage and car upgrading system.
  • In-game classifieds to buy and sell cars and parts.
  • Streamlined and polished user interface.
  • Improved graphics quality and performance.

넥스트 카 게임(다음 차 게임)입니다.

운전석에 사람이 없는 차량들이 2~24대가량 모여 랠리를 벌이는 내용의 게임인데 타이어 더미와 충돌해도 범퍼가 개 박살이 나는 마치 갓 구워낸 전병과자같은 바삭바삭한 내구도를 뽐내더군요.

게다가 현재 버젼에선 브레이크가 종종 안 먹힐때도 있는데

알고보니 이 게임의 차량들은 국내 내수형 현기차들이셨네요...

사실 매우 오래 전에 구입했으나, 즐기지 않습니다.

처음 알파 플레이 영상을 보았을 땐, 레이싱 시뮬레이터이며 파괴 이펙트는 그저 가미 요소일 줄 알았습니다.

출시 초에도 마치 파괴 이펙트를 적극적으로 구현해 자동차에 가해지는 물리적인 표현과 부품 고장을 적극적으로 나타내고 극한의 레이싱을 보여줄까 싶었는데, 글쎄요.

레이싱은 별로 재미도 없는 부분이고 거의 아레나로 들어가서 범퍼카 짓거리만 하게됩니다.
아니면 사전 구매자 한정으로 주는 실험장 같은 곳으로 들어가서 온갖 파괴 이펙트만 즐기게 됐죠.

웃음끼 쏙 빼고 리얼리티를 살린 레이싱을 만들어 놓은 줄 알고 샀는데 그저 또 다른 플랫 아웃이었습니다.
파괴 이펙트가 더 고상해졌을 뿐.

파괴 본능이 꿈틀대거나 남의 차를 짓밟고 싶으신 분들 추천드리고 더트 시리즈 생각하고 구매 고민 중이신 분들은 절대 비추입니다.

떄리고 부시는 트레일러를 보고 쉬원할 것 같아서 사 보았습니다.

근데 일단 자동차 스피드감과 떄려 부수는감이 너무 없고 느립니다. 그리고 답답합니다.

그리고 멀티에 사람이 없고 딱히 컨텐츠가 없습니다.

게다가 게임 값이 비쌉니다. 이건 딱 9천원짜리 게임인데 너무 비싸네요

부수기 위해서 달린다!
90년대 추억의 게임 '디스트럭션 더비'를 그대로 옮겨 놓은 게임

장애물과 충돌, 자동차의 부서짐 등 사실적인 물리엔진이 이게임의 돋보입니다.
아케이드같이 보이지만 ABS, TC, SC 어시스트를 끄면 사실적인 주행감을 보여줍니다.
휠이 있다면 오버스티어시 카운터쳐주는 맛이 있을 것 같네요.

생각보다 차가 안부숴짐

시원시원한 부숴짐을 원했는데 GTA5 정도의 자동차 내구도, 부숴짐 구현

그리고 아직 얼리엑세스긴 하지만 컨텐츠가 너~무 없고 차 종류도 너~무 없음..

조작감은 대충 그리드 스러운데 유아용 그리드 같은 느낌
