Hva utviklerne har å si:

Hvorfor Early Access?

“When we started developing Heroes & Generals it was with the intention of creating a game for the gamers as much as for ourselves. The games we have been creating in the past (back in the IO Interactive days) have all been shrouded in secrecy until they were released and therefore always carried a number of things that players did not like but we were unable to change. Because it is the players that in the end plays the game we think they should have greater influence on the development.

Since the very early days of the project in 2011 (pre-alpha stage), we invited players in to play the game and have involved our community in the making of Heroes & Generals and listened to the feedback from them. So it's a natural extension of the way we develop Heroes & Generals, to also include the Steam Community, by going Early Access.”

Hvor lenge antas det at dette spillet vil være i Early Access?

“We're approaching the end of our Open Beta/Early Access phase, but it's still too soon for us to put a date on when we'll launch.”

Hvordan er det planlagt at fullversjonen vil være forskjellig fra Early Access-versjonen?

“We're still tweaking, fixing bugs and adding new features to Heroes & Generals, and even though we feel that the game is now fun and quite stable, we still wish to get all things 'just right' before we call it 'launched'.

We do not plan to do a full server reset when the game launches.”

Hva er nåværende tilstand på Early Access-versjonen?

“We're in the end of our Open Beta phase, preparing for launch.”

Vil spillet være priset annerledes under og etter Early Access?

“Heroes & Generals is Free2Play. We wish to create a healthy, solid and well-balanced game and community, where you can get a great experience playing the game, no matter how much money you spend! There is already an in-game economy in place, where you earn in-game credits and warfunds for being active in the game, by playing FPS-missions and/or handling Assault Teams.

You can also buy gold, which you can use to buy practically everything, usually it give you the option of buying stuff ‘early’, so you don’t need to grind that much. We also offer a Veteran Membership to accommodate wishes of having an all-inclusive package, where you earn xp, ribbon-xp, in-game credits and warfunds at an increased rate etc.

Prices are regularly being tweaked now in Open Beta/Early Access and we will most likely still tweak prices at and after launch.”

Hvordan planlegger dere å involvere samfunnet i utviklingsprosessen?

“We encourage the players to participate in discussions in our forum: http://forum.heroesandgenerals.com/

When you write feedback about the game, remember to try and explain your reasons. Constructive criticism will help us build a better game for you.”

1. I hate that each update dumbs the game down to nothing more than a 'Red Vs. Blue' shoot 'em up that even the most mindless of FPS player would find too simple.

2. I hate that the devs cater to people who complain en mass over something they don't like (getting sniped) and implement something totally stupid to counter it (tracer rounds that can be seen clearly even in the day time)

3. I hate that good suggestions (medics, better flight models, proper tank physics, realistic damage to tank tracks, plane cockpit view, different uniforms as you go up in rank, deployable bipods, tank cupola view and so on) have been seemingly neglected.

4. I hate that rather than fix something or make it the best they can (e.g. Tanks) the devs just introduce more of said broken item.

5. I hate that after 3 years+ of development we still have one campaign, guns sound like they are firing paintballs, tanks flip when running into bicycles and come to a complete stop when hitting a simple wooden fence and much more.

6. I hate that maps are so big and empty with no ambiance, no destruction and nothing that makes me remotely think I'm in a war.

7. I hate the new weight system and how totally absurd it is (a grease gun weighing as much as a Thompson, a scoped Kar 98 weighing less than a regular Kar 98)

8. I hate that it took them so long to bring back paratroopers, and have essentially made them useless by giving them only 6 equipment slots, barely enough to equip anything. Even though paratroopers in WW2 were fitter and carried almost triple the equipment of a regular soldier.

9. I hate that the FG42 is listed as an LMG and has the same weight as an MG42 when it is comparable in size and weight to a modern assault rifle.

10. I hate that veteran has been essentially shoved down our throats by removing a weapon and badge slot, even though they have other ways of gaining income (especially a $99 pack on steam unlocking everything).

11. I hate that the devs seem to have no clear direction and won't admit it, even though we can all see it.

12. I hate that Team killers and griefers are not getting banned. People are getting random banned.

13. I hate that when I fielded my assault team and they got routed, I got database connection error.
Basically I have to stay away from the general tab to play the fps game. What a joke.

14. Most of all, I hate that the devs don't see that they are essentially running their own game into the ground by not respecting the community, or heeding their feedback. Long time players are leaving in droves because of it and how each update brings the game further away from what they hoped it would be. Short time players (who they are now catering too) will eventually leave after they've wallet warriored their way to boredom and see that the game is essentially in a stalemate.

This Review is written in Japanese and English. Sorry about my poor English.

All what I'd like to say is " US weapons is stronger than German ones in this game."

First, US infantry equipments are superior than German's ones. The damage and recoil of G43 rifle(German), fresh recruit's weapon is inferior than M1 Garand(American). If you want to keep using this rifle for long time, you should improve these status by installing weapon mods. After that, this rifle will be able to defeat Uncle Sam with only twice body-hits in close to middle range. MP34 Submachine gun has only 20 rounds while M3 Greese gun has 30 rounds. This gap suffer German players. Of course, you can purchase MP40 Submachine gun when you earn enough EXPs of SMG ribbon. However, its Fire Power and Rate of Fire is still worse than M1 Thompson. In addition, the biggest problem is ...... MP40 is so expensive. Its price is higher than MG34 and even light tanks !!

Secondly, the difference of the quality of Tanks is serious. Excepting Russian, most people may believe "German tanks are best in WW 2 !!". Although it might be true, in this game, German tank soldiers must walk thorny path. Pz.I light tank(German beginning tank) is the worst tank, and it will be just a coffin in Tank battle. This tank bring only a pair of 7.92mm machine gun while American M2A2 LT has 12.7mm machine gun. For example, however when you shoot APCR(better penetration and more expensive ammo) against the back armor of M5 Stuart or M24 chaffee, it can NEVER penetrate(shoot out) their armor, even THEY ARE LIGHT TANKS!! In case, against M4 sherman or M26 persing? Needless to answer...... So, if you want to train German tanker, I recommand you to avoid tank battle with Pz.I. Attack only enemy infantry and non-armored vehicles, and gain EXPs of Light tank ribbon to buy 38t tank. It is the best light tank in German, and it can kill American light tank from its front. German Heavy tanks are actually good, but there are only a few opportunity to cast them in standard battle.

Like this, german player will fight under disadvantages. But, after getting well-trained soldier and purchase enough weapons, you will feel this game fun. While you are new player, you should join only "Skirmish" battle, and earn EXPs and Credits. Skirmish mode battle takes less time thans "Assault" mode battle.

Finally, I need to tell an important thing to both US and German new players. The fresh soldier has no Anti-tank weapons, and they cannot buy them yet. Your Anti-human grenades cause quite NO damage against armor targets. It means, you can easily be slaughtered by even Pz.I light tank!! And, compared with "Red Orchestra" series, the damage of Anti-tank weapons is weaker and weaker. For exapmle. you will need 3 direct hit of Panzerfaust to kill M18 hellcat(even this tank-destroyer has only 13~25mm of armor). If you use Anti-tank grenade(this is so risky), it also needs twice or more. Using Panzerschreck or M1A1 Bazooka is more damage than Panzeraust, and much safer than Anti-tank grenade. But their prices are so expensive. After consuming all 50 rounds, you need to supply them at the same prices of buying new ones. As the result, when you get suffered by enemy tanks and you want to eliminate them, you should cast a tank, like enemy does.

Game is alot of fun, and has heaps of potential.
But ruined by idiot developers, battles are always one-sided, they cant even fix match making, consistantly one side will have atleast 2-3 more players than the other side, up to 5+ more.

Bad hacking protection

Devs need to focus on making the game more fair, gets boring quick when youre either dominating or getting your ♥♥♥ handed to you, no inbetween.

Edit: Its not P2W really, and this is probably the game i play the most now. But the devs need fix one sided battles. Started a game yesterday that was 2 v 5, when we got 2 extra players, so did they, 4 v 7. Then people see the game started badly and leave, becomes 3 v 7. Very common.

Matches like the one i just described, also wont let your friends join you...even though youre extremely outnumbered, they'll just sit in the queue...waiting, despite there being 4 available slots, and nobody new was able to join. My theory is that the game reserves a spot for people who have left, thus causing match making problems, it can be so easily fixed, yet the devs seem either stupid or ignorant.

As one of the people I've played this game said about it "It's like that terrible girlfriend you stay with because the sex is awesome"

I'll start off with saying that I've only really played as a German character (currently only American or German) and that I have only been playing for the past month or two. This game can be broken up into two seperate games; the Hero aspect or the General aspect; I've only played the Hero aspect because the General is a serious grind and I started multiple characters I'll explain why in a bit.

Each character has its own set of XP and when appropriate levels are reached can be branched off into Armour (tanks), Fighters (aircraft), Paratroopers, Recon (snipers). One important thing to note is that when you branch off of infantry you cannot use that character as an infantry unit without switching branches (which costs credits), Credits are earned by your soldier pay (XP based) and your battle performance.

From the guys that I game with (important to get in a group if you want to be effective) there was a recent overhaul on the game that favoured the American side of things, don't expect this game to be historically accurate with weapons as there has to be some semblance of balance, and in this reviewers opinion it is near overwhelmingly one sided.

Overall as a free to play game I feel it is one of the best I've found, like all communities there are those who are helpful and those who are not. The tutorial is ♥♥♥♥♥ but that's why there are staged battles (that pay out just as well if not more then actual battles) I'll update the review as I play.

I gave this game a chance because it started out with a good concept. As I have progressed in the game I have come to the conclusion that it is indeed pay to win. The game isn't retaining any skilled players due to it's high turnover rate resulting in boring and often stupid gameplay. There is little to no strategy in the game other than to purchase ingame fighting groups which are then defeated using an auto resolution system that favors the players who has spent more money. There are few matches to play other than during the peak hours. After playing this game for several hours and hearing alot of dissappointment from fellow veteran players who have invested in the game would not recommend this game to anyone.

A 3/5 game for sure.

+ WWII shooter
+ F2P
+ The scale of the war and the fact that it is entirely dynamic
+ Having a good game in this game leaves you feeling especially satisfied

- Shooting and movement feels extremely clunky (see drunk Niko and Roman)
- The sound of the guns is ehhhh
- Massive amounts of grinding required to get anything
- Interface could be better

In short, if you like WWII games and have some spare time, you might find this game an amusing distraction.

There's a top comment from a guy called "buntal", if I would say something it would be his comment. Thanks to him. But I'd like to point out a few important things about the game...

- Very fun game with vehicles/tanks/planes.
- All the WWII wepaons and stuff exist in this game, looks very realistic.

Cons: actually cons are much more than pros, I couldn't think of any other pros because I was always disappointed.
- This is the major and worst thing ever, the entire game engine is BAD! Zero smoothness. If you are an infantry, you'll get owned by anything. Very slow gameplay that you can't even go through a door without hitting the walls several times.
- I'm a Tank Crewman from the beginning, I can get a record of 40-0/1/2 very easily!
- Running/sprinting is very terrible. Your soldier runs out of breath in 3-5 seconds when sprinting even if you only have a pistol and wrench. Getting back the energy will take you forever. (I played a game called Arctic Combat, looks like Call of Duty but even better and it had small maps but unlimited sprinting energy which made it the best game for most of the players. This game has huge maps and sprinting is terrible, I would suggest this game should have unlimited sprinting energy too).
- Very UNBALANCED game! Some powerful things exist in this game like the Thompson > MP40 but both same price. Hellcat and Sherman are pain if you have a German Medium Tank, but it's still fun if you play hard games 'cause you'll learn how to counter in the future and when you have Tiger tank.
- Too many bugs and problems. Each update is a disappointment. I can't remember how many times I hit soldiers right in the head and they didn't die. Sometimes I hit them twice in the head with the rifle while they're stopped but they don't die.
- The Devs... they do not care about the community nor hear what you have to say. They get so mad as if you are insulting them. I'm giving this review because I want them to improve the game and it's not a hate message okay. I thought of spending money but then I realized this game will stay the same and will never be any better. If they don't change the game engine and change/fix things based on the reviews, then forget this game.

- Nice ambientation, sounds, graphics, weapon models...
- Fun to play till you get to lvl 3.
- Vehicles has smooth movement.
- You can get weapons from dead bodies.

- PAY TO WIN SYSTEM (if you pay with real money you get all weapons, vehicles and ranks that you want instantly).
- Unbalanced matchmaking after lvl 3, you can be playing with your m1 or g43 rifles versus people with sniper rifles, a tiger II or a bf 109 airplanes...
- The movement of the player is bad.
- HOURS AND HOURS of GRINDING to get something... (aprox 2 or 3 months to get a sniper rifle...).
- Tanks and planes... you can easily see a macht were 1 or 2 guys playing with and airplanes or a heavy tank can have in his score 40-0 easily, (ad remember is P2W you can have those paying instantly ;) ).

In my opinion is a nice game but bad made, they need to get out the P2W system or at least make it more balanced, make easier to rank up and get new weapons and stuff and make the mathes more balanced.

Let's cut the small talk, and get straight to the facts.

Okay graphics. Not good, but not bad. The models are great, though. APCs, cars, IFVs, motorcycles, planes, tanks, and trucks. Bicycles, too. Oodles of weapons. Generous loadout and weapon customization. Good, large maps, with blends of open and urban fighting. Bullet drop counts. The RTS side of the game is fantastic. The devs drink beer on their Twitch streams.

The grinding is painful. Lots of monetization, and some things are unrealistic to the point that I think I'll cry. One game mode, no shortage of bugs, and room for improvement just about everywhere. The devs seem ignorant to requests that have been in the air for years. Simple bugs remain unfixed.

Don't let this fool you! Hereos and Generals has a lot of potential. Yes, the bugs can be annoying, but updates are always on the horizon. The hit detection, for example, has improved dramatically. We'll see a Russian faction in the next major update, and updates dedicated to fixing bugs after that. The game has gone through some hard years, but it's finally starting to pull through.

As for the playerbase... it's alright, I suppose. Sometimes you find ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s you want to teamkill, sometimes you find teammates you want to keep playing with. Sometimes it seems like your team is composed of drunken twelve-year-olds, sometimes it seems like your team is composed of true veterans. Sometimes your team has taken the word 'teamwork' and thrown it out the window and lit it on fire, sometimes the teamwork is so good that the only explanation is that you're all telepathically connected.

In the end? Hell yes! I would recommend Heroes and Generals all the way. I dream of what it could be in a year or two, though.

Here is the most honest review I can come up with:

HnG is a very fun game, the ambiance and gritty feeling of WW2 is conveyed well in this game. To most WW2 die hard fanatics, the arcade style of this game may not fit the bill for you. It can be very unrealistic at times and many of the weapons + vehicles operate on levels that are historically innaccurate. For an FPS, the game takes getting used to as things feel like they are clunky and slow at first. Some of the gun sights can be hard to get used to and there is alot of overcorrecting and sway handling to take account for on most guns to get good shots.

I primarily play as a Tanker, starting with the 19.99 tank pack that was previously offered. The tanks are awesome and provide a very interesting mode of play. Sticking your head out of the tank to get a good view of your surroundings can be risky as you can be sniped out of your tank and have it stolen.

There are snipers everywhere in this game, so running in open field is pretty much a death sentence for any unit. The sniper rifle is very easy to attain, even on infantry and you can easily get spawn camped by snipers.

If your just starting out without any gold, the game can be very frustrating and there is a P2W element. You may end up being sniper bait until you can afford something better, which takes time and grind.

Dropping a few bucks into a decent gun and vehicle can completely change the experience (for people who don't mind grinding up to get what you want, the option is there but it is painful -especially with high repair costs on certain items). With the cash shop, the redeeming factor is that your dollar goes a long way and you can get what you want to fit your playstyle relatively easily.

-Great atmosphere and feeling once you get the controls down
-Many dynamic ways to play by having your soldiers take specific roles such as infantry or tank pilot
-Maps are well designed and a good size, although I'm hoping for larger full scale maps with all unit types
-The strategy aspect of the game is expensive to get into but looks interesting

-Game balance. While fun HnG is far from balanced, especially with the US being far superior with their weapons and vehicles to the Germans. In staged battles the US Chaffe light tank is pretty much a medium tank with a light tank label. You can pretty much blow away every enemy tank uncontested with its 75mm turrent when the highest calibur that the german light tank turrets go is 35mm. Also the STUG tank hunter on the german side has no machine gun and the gunner seat is open, allowing your co-pilot to get sniped. The US hellcat equivalent has an enclosed gunner, built in machine gun, and better manuverability. The US thompson SMG is also OP as hell. Also as a tanker, regular infantry and mines/sticky bombs are overpowered. People regularly kamikaze themselves on you using motocycles and mines. The tanker has very little defense against this.
-Progression system: Repairs are expensive and sometimes you are forced into half completed battles that award you with less credits that it costs to refill your ammo. Grinding to get what you want can take a long long time without spending gold in the cash shop.
-Armor system. The armor system in the game is broken at the moment and doesnt work right, shells don't reflect right and I've been killed by 2 shots by an enemy tank on my Tiger II - the most armored tank in the game - even when the shells hit the front and most heavily armored section of my vehicle. It's pretty much just rolling dice right now.
-Snipers all over. I think the overabundance of snipers ruined the game, snipers should be limited to recon and the scoped rifle on infantry needs to go.
-P2W. You can grind to get anything in the game but it takes massive amount of times. Sinking a little bit of cash into the game to get something like the thompson or a better tank like the Chaffe can give you a huge advantage with the current game balance.
-Squad system. You can only form squads with people the same role as you, making it hard to create groups with friends if they like to play different roles such as infantry when you tank. Also tanking roles are divided into medium, heavy, and light category so if you want to play your heavy tank and your friend hasn't reached that tier you can't really squad with him. It's hard to find games where the vehicles or classes you want to play are deployed. I think this needs an overhaul.

As per the SPAATZ 2 update, I have been unable to get into the game to an action client crashed error that is rampant among many users. I've been out 5 days with a support ticket submitted to the game creators that has gone unanswered even thought its a critical issue. Be warned that support does not seem to respond in a timely manner so if you have technical issues, you could be out of luck for a long time.

The game definitely feels like BETA. It's a fun as hell beta, but the balance issues, bugs, unplayability steaks, and whatnot cannot be ignored. I like the game, when it works its great! However, I won't deny that you can run into huge frustrations with P2W and certain game systems not functioning the way they should.

I feel that HnG has the potential to be a really great WW2 arcade game. I think some P2W adjustments, balance adjustments (especially on the german side), and polish of certain game systems is needed. For potential players I would advise letting the game cook in the oven a bit longer and to watch the title but not play it until another major update hits.

Also support can use alot of work, no player should be locked out of the game for more than 5 days with no support response.

In the current state of the game:

Is it fun? Yes.
However, in the game's current state with the bugs, P2W, unplayability, support issues, and bugged systems I could not honestly recommend it until these issues are ironed out.

Hackers and Griefers?

I have been playing FPS for 17 years, so I think I know how to aim, but apparently not in this game, have to be point blank with rifles.

As for hackers. They know exactly where you are, even in fog+bush, and able to head shot you several hundred meters with smg, some times behind walls too.

Griefers? Starter would be snipers camping at your spawn.

This game wants to be too many things and is a complete disgrace to the entire World War II genre. The matches are just stupid free for alls were each teammate is a lonewolf. There is no "teamwork", no squads, no voice chat, and text chat is rarley used besides to type ♥♥♥♥♥ a few times in a match. It attempts to be another battlefield, but falls sooo short of it. With awful hit detection and guns that may as well be BB guns, I mean, an M1 takes 4 shots to kill?!!? It fires a damn .30-06 for christs sake, this gun punches so hard, but due to it being free to play you can't have the starting weapon be the best gun in the game. The grinding is expected and i don't mind it, but what pisses me ooff about every single F2P is that it must be pay to win and sucks any further enjoyment out of the game.

I spawn in and immediatley die due every spawn point spawning me out in the ♥♥♥♥ing open! I went into a base and a german spawned in directly behind me while I was capturing the base. Half of the entire team sits in the hills with snipers becuase it is the only way to play the game and enjoy becuase spawning in and dying seconds later isn't enjoyable. The map design is absolutley terrible, the maps are gigantic and it would be nice if it could actually support such big maps with such little ammounts of players. Some maps have up to 12 or so points but sometimes only 24 players on a server. So you run for so long to only be sadly killed by a person with a much better weapon than you. The gamemode that I played had flag points that you'd capture, but you'd have to have a flags captured that was connected to continue on, so once a team begins to lose they're ♥♥♥♥ed. You can't flank and take points from behind and start an ultimate back rage if your team would even cooperate.

This game is sadly nothing i expected, with poor everything you'd expect at least realism to make up for something, but nothing in this game makes me feel like im in an actual warzone. The sound design is poor, the music is off, and the game feels sooo fake. Tripwires Red Orchestra 2 was a very good and that game (at least what I played of it on the free weekend) immersed me. The gun play isn't the best and may be a bit clunky at times but I felt like I was in a real war, that I was a Russian fighting for the motherland or a Marine burning out pillboxes with my flamethrower. The settings in that game were so well put together compared to Heroes and Generals.

So simple enough do NOT download this game, it is a waste of hard drive space.

well i love this game love how it has ww2 aspect but i dislike how it 11,200 credits (numbering may be wrong here) for a pre war bolt action rifle? which is possibly the second gun you unlock or the third depends on how fast you rank up with your semi-auto rifle you start with. also i dislike how to get to lvl 2 its 10 exp which is ok with me then it jump to about 600 (i may be wrong on the numbering but do know for a fact it jump to the hundreds after lvl 2) i mean i can understand being close to 100 at like lvl 5 or 6 since their is only about 12 lvls (again numbering may be wrong) but either way this game is a ♥♥♥♥♥ to lvl up and takes forever to level up also any gun you can get you have to basically pay an arm and a leg to get it and you only get about 120 game credits per match even if the match is balanced which is extremly rare but whats funny is either the m3 for americans or the mp34 is a hell of alot cheaper than ww1 bolt action rifles and im talking like 5000 credit for either of the smgs( numbering again) but other than the crazy amount of money for a gun and tanks, unbalanced matches the game is pretty fun also would like to see russia come into play since you already have some russian weapons be nice to see the rest of them and being able to use them

YES> Has a Day of Defeat/War Thunder feel to it. Fun game to play good at what it does. What it lacks in graphics it makes up for in gameplay 7/10

For a Free 2 Play game, set in a WW2, FPS based, with veichales, how could you go wrong? This is so far a game that even took me by surprise since most free to play are pay to win. I do admit, im sure paying to go premium aka same works as war thunder, doesnt make you have god mode, just helps earn cash and levels quicker. I would say since its free, its worth donating to. However i have not, and have had no problem pwning nazis and leveling decently quick. As far as the grind im not sure what people mean, but i would say give this game a try, you wont regret it!
