Five tips to improve your starter weapon

Having trouble killing your opponent with your starter weapon? Say no more and start reading these five tips to improve your starter weapon.

1. Aim for the kill

Shooting limbs or shooting heads – it makes a big difference when you want to kill your opponent as fast as possible. Bullets to arms and legs inflict the least damage to a soldier. Try aiming for the chest, it is a nice big target. If you have a steady hand, aim for the head. A bullet to the head is always a guaranteed kill.

2. Bring extra bullets to the fight

If you have a lot of targets to shoot at, you may run out of ammunition. Getting fresh ammunition can be a dangerous thing to do, so why not carry some extra ammunition with you. You can add more (or less) ammunition pouches to your weapon. Beware: Extra pouches increase equipment points required to equip the weapon.

3. Upgrade your weapon

Your starter weapon (SVT-40, M1 Garand or Gewehr 43) is already a powerful weapon, but with the use of upgrades you can enhance it to your liking. Without any upgrades it requires three shots to the chest to kill an opponent. However, there are upgrades available that allow you to make a kill with only two shots to the chest. Every upgrade has an upside and a downside.

For example the Scout II-s barrel increases the damage and range of your weapon, but decreases the precision and stability.

The downside effects are noticeable, but the benefit of the extra damage and range will make you a lot more powerful on the battlefield. Be careful though, upgrades wear out and you'll need credits or gold to repair them if you want to keep using them.

4. Improve your rate of Fire

Other upgrade options as the one described above is the rate of fire. If you find that your weapon is not firing fast enough, you can decide to for example equip the 'Field Trigger Job'. It provides extra rate of fire for your weapon, but at the cost of stability of your weapon.

5. Enhance Precision or equip a Scope

You can enhance the precision of your starter weapon by upgrading it with a Field Adjusted Sight, making it easier to hit your targets. Or you can equip a Scope – perfect if you wish to use the gun on longer distances, but not always the optimal solution for close combat.

Quick extra tips
  • The more upgrades you equip, the more expensive your repairs will be. So make sure that you feel, that the upgrades you choose improve the experience you have with the weapon.
  • You can name your weapon! The name of your weapon will be shown to the player you kill.

Five tips on getting started in Heroes & Generals

Entering the battle for the first time, clinging to your new rifle and having that rookie feeling in your gut?

First tip of the day – don’t get shot! Below are five additional things that you might find useful to know when starting out in Heroes & Generals.

This is the first of a series of blogposts focusing on tips and tricks for playing Heroes & Generals and getting the most out of your gaming experience. The series will feature content for both newcomers and veterans alike.

1. Use a civilian truck or bicycle to get to the combat zone!
Try to find bicycles or civilian trucks, they will get you to the battle a lot faster than running. A bicycle can carry two soldiers and a civilian truck can hold you and seven teammates.

PS: Need a lift? Use F to whistle.

2. Look for extra supplies
Out of ammunition or in the dire need of some health? All maps offer a variety of places where you can find Ammunition or Health crates. Also be on the lookout for panzerfausts enabling you to fend off tanks and vehicles.
3. Gaining player levels unlocks features in the game
Player levels is a way to ensure you gradually learn the game and are not pitted against the big boys right away. You start off on player level 1 in the Bronze Matchmaking Group and level up as you play the game. Each level unlocks features such as battle types in the game and earns you rewards.. Your matchmaking group also increases as you level up, and you get to fight more experienced opponents.
4. Grenades are a perfect way of saying hello
If you’re cornered or wish to clear a building, grenades are the perfect weapon to surprise your enemy. Beware that the explosion from your grenade can kill you as well – so stay clear.

You unlock grenades by reaching level 3 of the Infantry Assault ribbon, experience towards this is gained by actively assaulting with your Semi-Automatic rifle.
5. Upgrading your starting weapon makes it more powerful
When you use a weapon in battle you unlock upgrades for them. Upgrades can be used to improve your weapon making them more precise or increasing the damage it does to your enemy. Your starter weapon can be much more powerful with upgrades, and it may just give you a little extra edge when you enhance your weapon to suit your play style.

The development of the game is only terrible. It is obviously accepted that russian hackers are tolerated.
Many pictures as well as videos were made documenting this unfair playing. It is ironic that during start of game
it shows you a "anti cheat cheking software".

Russina clans like "Red alert" exists of a majority of players definitely using hacks regularly. A so well
designed game gets destroyed by stupid management.

Balancing between fractions is no more existing. axis was nerved over the hole line. russians are able to kill
vehicles with ptrd with 1 shot whil others even with tanks needs 2 shots. As you can see realism is also no
more given.

I just can recommend nor to waste time or money in this game any more!

Pay and play or
Play and die.

If you dont pay, you get sniped, run over with tank, spanked with shovel etc, because you get a water pistol for the beggining and if you want to get any improvement, you have to spent like ALOT of time in game being the sheep for the wolves..... No thanks.

This game has tons and tons of problems that, if i addressed, would make this rating a few pages long. I'll be concise about it: the match maker is stupid (puts panthers against t-28s...), russia has terrible everything (just look at how much russia wastes in wars and then loses completely), and everything is completely unrealistic. I've seen people with rocket launchers peek around a corner, fire a rocket instantly, go back into cover within an instant, and then repeat. That isn't how it's supposed to work... you gotta actually aim and hold onto it or else it might rip your arm off... Then there's also the fact that the sound system is terrible. Someone could be shooting you a few feet behind you and you will only hear the shots after he kills you... Also, infantry are completely overpowered. They can carry weapons to kill infantry and weapons to kill vehicles. Just really, why take a big, lumbering tank to fight other tanks when you can spam a few anti-tank grenades and still make a profit. Although this was, up to this point, all negative, I will still mention the good things. The progression in this game is pretty great and i love how there are infantry, tanks, aircraft, etc. all in one battle. I also enjoy how there are different types of vehicles depending on which class you choose. All in all, I will still continue to play this game in hopes that some of the problems will get addressed.

These devs are spawns of cancerous tumors which morphed into humans and then somehow learned how to press buttons on a computer and somehow made a fairly addictive video game.

This is a game I want to love, and I spend tons and tons of hours on it, but I cannot in good faith recomend it to anyone else. The stress, hairpulling, raging, broken cabinets, and verbally abused lovers are not something I can recomend to another gamer. The game itself has a solid base, but the frustrations that come with it are just to much.

Little problems that would take 30 minutes of actual work to fix come in MASSIVE patch increments which are usually MONTHS apart, meaning if you invest in the game, you continue to play the game and experience these minor frustrations that could be fixed at the flick of a switch ( ie: spawns, costs, resources for the generals tab). at this point i can't believe they ever added a third faction.

When something DOES get patched, it feels like in the process the devs trample over every inch of coding in their game in the process, and ♥♥♥♥ up all sorts of stuff. It's difficult to give specific examples of this because i'd have to remember every patch ever, but frankly, every time they patch this game I say to myself "Wow, this is bad, it really can't get any worse than this at least", and EVERY time I am wrong. Game just fully released and moved out of the "BETA" phase (which means nothing) and is on a rapid spiral downward. It is free to play, if you MUST play, DO NOT SPEND MONEY.

So i downloaded the game, entered a lobby and started playing.I was getting killed every single time and i was waiting so damn much to get revived..
This is not the only reason to not recommend this game.
One of the reasons are the lots of bugs..well some of them are getting fixed but there are still some bugs like in every game :D
And almost everytime there are no free vechicles so you have to run 131231231 kilometers :D

I have been playing this game for a while now, and i have to give it a thumbs down

This game is mostly a loading screen simulator

When yo ustart the game it asks for you to login, as soon as you login, and anti-cheat loading bar starts and it taks about 1 min
After that the main page opens since this page is more like a browser it takes some time to load all the images after some time when everything is displayed properly you go through your inventory now you cant buy anything since evrything is blocked
No when you press join a game its give you a loading delay, WHAT !!!? a 30 second loading delayjust for the map to staart loading and after everything is loaded and you join a game it gives a 2 min countdown just for you to join the game.

AND WHEN YOU SPAWN and after walking 20 steps BOOM TORSO SHOT dead from a 1 sniper from a mile away who yo ucould not have killed form tha distance even if you would have spoted him before he spoted you, because your starting weapon is ♥♥♥♥.

Well after hours and hours of grinding for credits annd making like 200k credits so taht i can purchase this gun i like for 200k credits YES it costs 200k , the gun is still locked because i have to kill around 2000 peopel with your starter weapon.

ANd no one will help you when in game every one will run off to some corners of the map and start caping and sniping from miles away.

When I play this game, I feel like I'm playing a more intense version of Call of Duty... In this game, you're actually fighting a war in REAL LIFE, while in CoD, it's just a game....

Trailor is nothing like the actual gameplay and the game is completely pay to win. If you aren't paying you arent getting anywhere in this game unless you hack which seems to be pretty easy in this game noting that it has the biggest hacker base along side counter strike which i love because it is skill based and not pay 2 win

You don't need to pay to win, game's not hard. I haven't encountered a single hacker either. My experience with this game has been pretty good. This game needs a lot of work, but it is very fun to play.

Review Time: I've got about 48 hours of game play logged and I have to say the game is pretty good. I got into PC gaming around era of the first Call of Duty and Battlefield 1942. If your Battlefield 1942 or Vietnam fan this game is right up your alley, I myself have been waiting a long pretty log time for another game to come out with that general type of game platy. Massive Online Multiple player game, with top notch graphic. I'm running dual GTX 770, and Asus 32 inch Gaming Monitor and the HD detail from guns, uniforms, maps, and vehicles are super impressive, topped off by effects of explosions and fire. WHooooo! HOWEVER, you don't need a massive gaming rig to play this game, I actually find the game more enjoyable with moderate to low graphics depending on the map. The reason for this the graphics are so detailed its a lot for your eyes to take in at one time. Dumbing down the graphic as I call it, makes it easier to see everything going on. Trust me at times it can be a lot. The game has around 20 maps, city, factory, airfield, to open country with farm type housing. The maps can be played at the break of dawn with hazy fog rolling across the battlefield, mid-day or at night. On the larger assault maps, the three factions are divided up across the map, each holding points. Majority of the battles are with two factions pairing off and last 15 to 30 minutes, with one faction defending to main spawn locations with the other factions assault the map from one or two locations. The offensive team, has a main deployment area and has to take multiple spawn points, defend and push on to the next point. The game is one when one team or the other defends or holds all spawn points, or occurs enough team points, or completely kills off the other team.
If your looking to jump into driving tanks or flying right away, you'll have to hold your horses. There is a small progression in the game you will have to endure. Everyone starts out as infantry, as you make rank with your character and award ribbons you unlock upgrades for your character. I learned early on, to pay attention to the ribbons awarded, understand what you have to accomplish to unlock your next upgrade.
Progressing forward with your infantry character you will unlock the other type of soldiers in the game. You will have to purchase these characters for each factions with in game credits or using real money to purchase Gold. The other class are as followed: Paratrooper, basically is infantry guy that spawns in a transport aircraft flying over the battlefield. Your able to select your drop zone by the third person you view, and jump out of the plane when your ready by pressing "E". The next unlock I believe is Recon, these guys are your typical snipers, and defenders, also can be used to assault depending on how your progress you character. You start out Recon with bolt action rifle with a scope. After Recon comes your Tankers, so far this has been one of my favorite classes. I spent several years playing World of Tanks, so I know the tanks very well and super excited to see which tanks they put into the game. So far each iconic tanks like the Sherman Easy 8, Hellcat, Persian the German Leo, Panther, Tiger and Hetzer live up to the legends they were on the battlefield for you WWII buffs. I've personally have run through the German class and the American Tank lines from private up to LT on both characters. I love cruising around, and setting up ambush for enemy tanks with my squad mates. Assault spawn points, with the mounted machine guns and shredding through troops. Careful though, every class in the game can wreck your world from anti tank mines, bazookas, sticky bombs, and those OG pilots who set up strafing and bombing runs. You can guess what the next class to unlock is Pilots. I have yet to play a pilot, they are pretty prices with in game credits, and I've been having way to much fun in tanks to even attempt to move on. I have made a few friends who are pilots in the game and they say it takes a minute to get use to flying. However once you get half way descent at it, you make tons of in game credits, and is loads of fun. I've also seen on the forums a few people complain that they spent Gold on buying pilot, only to get sick playing the character and begging for a refund. Don't know if that's good or bad. However the dog fighting over the battle and seeing a plane go down in flames is amazing. Specially in dusk or night battles and seeing all the AA going off and planes trying dual it out, while dodge enemy fire all at the same time. The next class or rank is the Generals. Which is a whole other aspect of the game that have yet to dive into. Basically how Generals works is once you either grind a character up to the rank General or purchase a General using gold. (Buy Gold with Real Money!) You can go on the EU map and range war with your faction and try to take over Europe. Wars typically last 5 to 7 days until one of the factions either take over the map, or time runs out and the map is reset. To my understanding the way war works is, you as player select your factions you wish to enter the war with. You as General choose your troops to assault the the town or the map with. Depending on the troops you select, players will queue for that match and fight the battle. Those battles are pretty much the same as assault maps, depending on what troops a general has at his disposal, is what's enter in the battle. Some battles can be extremely lopsided or pretty even. Again I haven't made it to rank of General yet, however I have fought in several "War Elite" battles. It is very cool concept... although I feel if you jump straight into Generals with out doing a little research on how to run a battle and have idea of what works and doesn't work. You could cause a lot of heartache for your faction, loosing a lot of ground or even the war. If you ever played the game MAG for PS3, they had similar concept with Squad leaders, Platoon leaders, Company Commanders, and Battle Commanders, except on a much larger scale.

Pros: Graphics, Wide Variety of guns and vehicles for every class. Large Maps. A lot of fun to be had with friends working together to take spawn point. Game play is smooth, and has a very classic, old school feel to it. Once you get the hang of the game, is a loads of fun.

Cons: Players not use to these type of games may feel over whelmed. Players who play the newer style first person shooters may feel that the game does not progress fast enough at first. Large Maps, if your on foot, or select the wrong spawn point, you could be on foot for a while. Playing the game at max graphics can make the screen very busy and hard to see enemy troops. In game directions for starting out and learning the game are non existent. You will have to refer to website. Due to graphics and the old school play of the game most player will struggle at the start of the game, due the game play is similar but not the same as the new era shooting games. Queue for games on average is around 2 minutes and up to 10 minutes for War Elite depending on what class character your trying to queue.
