關於此遊戲

In Planet Explorers, it is the year 2287, one of the first colony ships sent out by Earth arrives at the planet Maria, in the Epsilon Indi Star System. During its landing sequence, something appears in front of the massive ship that causes it to lose control and crash into the planet. Some of the colonists survive in lifeboats, but what they find is an unforgiving land filled with creatures ready to outlast the visitors from Earth. Now the survivors must explorer, gather, build, create, fight, and ultimately, build a new home.

Game Modes


Planet Explorers will feature single and multiplayer modes.

In single player there are 3 distinct selections

  • Story Mode – Story mode is the main meat and bones of the game, it is the action-adventure-rpg-somewhat-4X segment, offering npcs, missions, colony building, farming, ranching, training, diplomacy, and of course, a storyline that you can follow or ignore. This story features a 17X8km world map with many unique character, landscapes, biomes, locations, and over 100 types of potential enemies. Even though we’ve made it seem like a very action oriented game in the trailers, in reality, players can choose to not fight so much as to just plant a farm, make some food, keep the colonists alive, negotiate with the sentient aliens, and defend the perimeter from the local life forms. That can still eventually arrive at the ending. And yes, there is an ending. Story mode also features coop with other players.

  • Adventure Mode – This mode is based on a procedural map generated from a seed. Currently, it comes in a 40X40 kilometer map. Players will be able to complete random missions, defeat bosses, and explore different landscapes in the mode and eventually be able to setup conditions that they want to play (such as tower defense or attack an alien camp). This mode will also feature survival gameplay. The randomization in this mode will eventually pull in player made objects and locations so that a world will always feature something new and unique.

  • Build Mode – In this mode, there are no enemies and an infinite amount of building material. It also currently comes in a 40X40km map. Players will be able to build whatever they want in this mode, including everything in the Creations Editor. Think of this as the perfect testing ground to test everything you build. Or…it’s your place to build your garden without ever worrying about the pesky aliens.

Multiplayer allows Local Area Network and player hosted servers. It features several modes but some are still on the drawing board or going through technical trials so the final result is still in flux. Players playing multiplayer should be able to bring at least one of their created objects into multiplayer games, be it a sword, gun, or vehicle.

  • Coop – Coop comes in many selections, such as adventure mode, tower defense mode, build mode, etc. This is pretty much an open world sandbox with a max of 32 players (this number still needs to be stress tested).

  • Versus – This mode allows teams of up to 16 players to battle against 16 players from another team. We allow full terrain manipulation in this mode. Currently, it's a point based system where one team wins if they reach a certain point level based on kills, built objects, resources mined, etc.

I just remembered this game while uninstalling games I've played/finished and/or will never, ever play again. Well, this is one of them. You might find this a bad review but shortly? It's the most clunky game I have ever played and that goes to everything from the UI to simple mechanics such as digging. I remember the digging so well because it was the reason I finally closed the game and never went back.

But no, it wasn't all bad I recall: colorful and creative fantasy themed graphics and fun creatures to kill.

But yeah I can't recommend it (unless you really, really want to support the game devs I guess).

Keeping an eye on this game though, maybe one day it'll get out of being early access...

For a game that has been in production for a long time they still don't have first person and the sound in the game is terrible. No footsteps sound for example and the ocean sounds like static noise. (i tried 2 sound cards and one had even no ambient sounds). this breaks emersion big time for me. Just because of that I'm requesting a credit. Maybe it will be finish in 2020 but by them better games will be out. I hate games that keeps adding features on top of broken basic ones.

Brought this game back in 2014 seem like a good solid game, played for a while had some issues bugs and glitchs thought id give it some time for patches and updates . So i come back 2 years later and the game has hardly changed if anything it seems worst that when i first played it in 2014 . DO yourself a favor and dont buy it . Unless its on sale for 5 dollars or less

To start off, yes the game is really buggy and DID have slow development. I say DID because they have picked this game back up and sped up the devolopment for than a couple of years ago, but im not saying its fast. they still dwindle a little bit. Either that or they are working on some huge things.
I have really high hopes for this game in general. I believe it has great potentiel
Some of the best pros in my opinion of this game is:
The voxel creation/customization system.
The diversity in the NPCS/Animals.
The building and crafting system
Vehicles are amazing
The story mode
Some of the AI Combat
Animations
Exploration
Boss fighting
Co-op (kind of, i'll talk about it later)
The sandbox. Almost everything is customizable.
The open world. This game almost has no limets with that.
The NPC trading system.
The graphics are really nice to. Still needs a few tweaks but for what it is its good.
And it's stability is much greater than what it use to be. The constant crashing made it almost unplayable.
Or was it only me that got that? i don't know.

Ok i'm to lazy to write out all the cons, because well theres alot. But im going to cover mulitplayer/coop
Coop would be really good for this game and its a good game to play with friends, but the coop mode is still in a unstable state. It still works though dont get me wrong, but it can be confusing and i run into alot of problems. This game can be pretty hard going solo and it can go boring after a while to.

If i wanted 3 things to be added to Planet Explorers, It would be
Better Coop/multiplayer optimization
More types of animals/NPCS is always nice, not saying there isen't enough though. Maybe a increase in size for some to? :p
And maybe better animations, there not the best.

Whatever you do, do not buy this game. It is by far the worst game I have ever bought. Everything in it is broken. The AI, the voxel system, the combat, everything. The trailer and gameplay may look cool, but I promise you it does not live up to that potential. The single most important resource is iron. My ffriend and I spent 2 and a half hours before we could find a single piece but we needed eight more pieces so we could not get one shotted by any wildlife in the game. Now the best experience I've had in this game is when I die I have to restart the game just to respawn. In order to respawn, you need a certain item. You spawn with 25 of this item. My friend and I eventually ran out because we spawned next to some dinosaur and consistently got one shotted. When we ran out, we could not respawn and had to restart the game. When we joined a different server, we had to restart the game. This happened to both of us. This was about 2 years ago and there has not been a single patch that has fixed anything worthy since. So please, do not waste your money on this game as I did.

Firstly, I'd like to start by saying Planet Explorers has undergone quite a few hardships, but In the end, Pathea is still going for the goal.

The Pros:

*The voxel creation system. You can build weapons, vehicles, and even armor through a voxel creation system that let's you shape, color, and even texturize. Not only create them, but use them ingame for their determined roles.

*Colony NPC recruitment. While there are plenty of games out there that have colony management, It's noteworthy to mention that recruiment in PE is about finding randomly generated npcs (aswell as pre-made npcs if you're playing story mode), that you can recruit into your colony for different roles. You can have them farm, gather resources, upgrade equipment, or patrol your colony to protect it from assailants. You may equip them as you wish, and even recruit them as followers to acompany on your journey. They all have unique appearences along with names (The names list is a bit short at the moment though..). They also come with their own sets of skills that you can have them train other colonists to have aswell.

*Sandbox Creative Storymode. This is a big one.. Pathea has created a sandbox creation game that includes a storymode, without any cut functionality from adventure mode. Not only have they done this, but they've also gone and made it multiplayer. You can either play this on a public server, or host a private game with friends only!

*Development. I have a lot to say about the current developement of PE. You can find details about their progress on the board, but I would like to say that these devs have earned my trust and loyalty through show and action, rather than words. They are a very respectful team, listening and taking in what the community is saying. Rather than lashing out or disagreeing with people, they rather take things as contructive and do whatever they can to make use of even the most blatently deconstructive criticism.

The developers have had a long standing goal and vision for Planet Explorers, but through listening to the discussive input of the community, they have made adjustments and alterations to suit the complaints even against their own wishes. They have in the past had difficulty communicating with the community, but they've picked up the pace and have made extra efforts to respond to everyone's issues, but have always taken in bug reports and done what they can with them. There was a time a year ago where they struggled to resolve an issue with pathfinding and collision, and resorted to rewriting the game in it's entirity in a single year just to resolve it, rather than letting it plague the players, all the while taking countless days of overtime to do so.. If that is not proof enough of dedication towards making this game work, then I do not know what is.

Updates come about once a month, composed of many many fixes, tweaks, and feature additions when appropriate. The changelogs show quite clearly that they've been busy with each update.

*Feature completion.
The developers have worked dedicatingly towards delivering all their promised features, and the current state of the game shows this. When comparing the list of features currently in the game to the list of features that were promised, you'll be able to see that they did a very good job at delivering. Not only are they striving for this absolute feature completion, but they have already added a few bonus features that were not even met through kickstarter goals.

There are still several bonus features that they were not able to add, however, they are planning to produce free expansions after release to include these features regardless. The only limitor at this moment is time...

*NPC combat AI.
Now, in the past, the combat AI has been pretty awful. There have been pretty horrible bugs that have prevented them from being of much use, however recently they've been working pretty heavily to not only correct these bugs, but improve the AI as a whole.

Monsters have been programmed to act according to what they are, rather than a default all-round AI slapped onto everything.. One creature will not engage the same as any other. Birds will keep distance, and swoop at their pray, or come in close temporary for a close range attack before swooping away.. Different bird creatures will even do this differently than others.. Not only do they have their own AI packages, but they also have their own animations specifically designed around them.

Humanoid NPC's at the time of writing this review are still being worked on. They will soon be able to determine whether or not they should engage based on their currently equipped armor and weapons, aswell as their current statuses, making them a bit more conscious of dangerous situations.

Cons
Like any early access game, and any game in general, there are always those things that just don't quite work. Whether that be temporary, or in whole.. Right now, even though this is an early access game, and these aspects will be sorted out, I'll going to list the issues that stand out the most in my eyes.

*Pathfinding
This is the biggest gripe for me presently. Currently NPC colonists have the most difficult time finding their way around objects. Whether that be user placed blocks, or machinery, they will get stuck on corners or one high blocks.. This issue is still in the queue for being resolved, but as of now, it's very difficult to tolerate.. As a temporary workaround though, Pathea has introduced "teleporting" for the npcs to make sure they get where they are trying to go if for some reason they get stuck.. It's not a pretty resolution, but for the time being, it atleast helps things work.

*Performance
While the game itself is decently stable, in a sense you can pull off a decent fps (provided you have a decent cpu), it suffers from object loading causing stuttering and major slowdowns... At times this is very unpretty and can be frustrating, especially if you are flying in a vehicle over terrain. Even worse if you're moving too quickly, and happen to not load the terrain where you are walking.

Another issue with object loading can cause npcs to fall through player placed blocks and other premade objects, as collisions happen to be loaded too late.

*Story bugs
At this point in time, it seems common that people run into story related bugs. The story is aimed to be complete with this next coming update, but that does not mean it's no longer going to be worked on. This just means the story can be finished, is all.


Conclusion:
The game is even currently at present very worth it. The only major griefs are bugs and performance, which the devs are going to be focusing on very heavily in the coming months to resolve, so those are only temporary.

Yesterday i came back to this game after a year or so away, and found it seemingly unplayable compared to older versions. I posted a bad review urging people to stay away from it until the devs fix the issues i was having (unresponsive keys/mouse) then something happened about 15 minutes after i posted that makes me change my recommendation to thumbs up. I got a message on steam from one of the devs (very quick response time) who told me how to solve the issues i was experiencing... very easy fix... reset key bindings to default ! I had never thought to do that as i have never changed keybindings on the game, but low and behold, instant fix. I have over 100 hours on this game and was / is among my favorites. Keep up the good work on this game and I want to thank developer zede05 for the quick response and help to make this one of my favorite games once again. VERY much recommended.

At this point in time, it seems common that people run into story related bugs. The story is aimed to be complete with this next coming update, but that does not mean it's no longer going to be worked on. This just means the story can be finished, is all.


Conclusion:
The game is even currently at present very worth it. The only major griefs are bugs and performance, which the devs are going to be focusing on very heavily in the coming months to resolve, so those are only temporary.

What to say about Planet Explorers?
Well, I play it since March /14 (almost in its release date, few days later).
I watched some videos, seen some screnshots, and why not, right?

Some indie games have a tendency of not completing its development to full release, because of a lot of reasons, but what the hell? I tried and bought it anyway.

Of course I do not have a lot of hours, playing since 2014, because I tend to stop playing and watch the development, by the Devs or Youtubers, so I can have more accurate opinion about it and it give me the way to play.

So, speaking about the game itself: It is a sandbox, indie, open world, survival crafting adventure (that I love most). I may be exagerating if I say that this is a better Minecraft, but this is my opinion, so yeah.

You can craft components, weapons, furniture and ETC, and can build your home / base / castle / whatever. Did I mention that you can CREATE your own weapons? you can use their Voxel Tool to create the most beautiful and weird weapons and shields (weapons: sword, guns), but this doesn't stop there. You actually can create your own vehicle by the same voxel system. You have a limited box of creation, but this does not mean your creations will be limited. You can create small and large ground carriers, you can create aircraft and boats. The adventures with your own creations are so awesome!

I must admit that the game have a lot missing, and I don't need to explain what is it, because, the game grow in every update released.

Some may think about the update time, that it takes too long to hit Steam. I must agree on some of that, but cannot stop thinking that they are still working. I say that because I tought, long time ago (end 2014 / beginning 2015) that they gave up developing the game, because of the great delays of updates. I had uninstalled the game a lot of times, because of lack of hope, but then, I redownloaded it and played again, with new features that I didn't see it coming.

Now I know one thing: they release updates, not too frequent, but when it hit Steam, the updates always come with very good improvements, and I mention bug fixes to new features.

So, pleople, don't be afeared of Planet Explorers. They are working, and the game looks beautiful.

I have invested in the game and it is showing its potential so far.

Obs: If my words seem a little weird, I am not a native of the language, so I apologize, and no, I have nothing to do with Pathea Games.

First review ever, so sorry if it is not "proper".

Now that got this out of the way...

Planet explorers feels very nice too me, i don't know something about this game "clicks".
Most negative reviews are about bugs and how slow the development progresses, i'll have to disagree with negative reviews on early access for those reasons.I like to give every early access title a chance that it will become a great game even if it takes long, buying an EA game doesn't say somewhere for sure how long it will take for release most of the time.

Anyways for planet explorers specifically i look at the development through the years almost since it came out on steam. Although slow, the development progresses steadily and a ton of things have been added to the game. I hope/believe it will turn in a great game!

P.S.:Don't dissapoint good (indie) developers with bad/b!tchy reviews/comments and cheer them while they make something that is for entairtemaint and fun and hope for the best from them!

I've just spent a couple of nights enjoying the heck out of this game, in Story Mode. It is much improved since the earlier versions, to the point where it's very playable, and quite fun. I've built myself a 4x4 with a turret on the top.. it weighs 17 tonnes and is made of steel, but gets along like a rocket.

IMO, this game is what Landmark should have been.. so kudos for the devs!

It's not all sunshine though, the animations are quite clunky still, the jump is very floaty and slow and some of the combat is quite annoying (no matter what armor I wear, weapons I use etc.. still get killed in three hits.. not even sure blocking with my shield does anything except look pretty).

To start off, yes the game is really buggy and DID have slow development. I say DID because they have picked this game back up and sped up the devolopment for than a couple of years ago, but im not saying its fast. they still dwindle a little bit. Either that or they are working on some huge things.
I have really high hopes for this game in general. I believe it has great potentiel
Some of the best pros in my opinion of this game is:
The voxel creation/customization system.
The diversity in the NPCS/Animals.
The building and crafting system
Vehicles are amazing
The story mode
Some of the AI Combat
Animations
Exploration
Boss fighting
Co-op (kind of, i'll talk about it later)
The sandbox. Almost everything is customizable.
The open world. This game almost has no limets with that.
The NPC trading system.
The graphics are really nice to. Still needs a few tweaks but for what it is its good.
And it's stability is much greater than what it use to be. The constant crashing made it almost unplayable.
Or was it only me that got that? i don't know.

Ok i'm to lazy to write out all the cons, because well theres alot. But im going to cover mulitplayer/coop
Coop would be really good for this game and its a good game to play with friends, but the coop mode is still in a unstable state. It still works though dont get me wrong, but it can be confusing and i run into alot of problems. This game can be pretty hard going solo and it can go boring after a while to.

If i wanted 3 things to be added to Planet Explorers, It would be
Better Coop/multiplayer optimization
More types of animals/NPCS is always nice, not saying there isen't enough though. Maybe a increase in size for some to? :p
And maybe better animations, there not the best.

One of the best games I have seen.

It is a survival game with crafting and quests.
It has a lot of bugs, but the producers of this game release updates usually and the game itself has changed a lot.

So you should give it a try if you want to spend a bit of your money.

這是一款沙盒類型的遊戲,按之前玩過 [ 當個創世神 ] 、[ 七日殺 ] 等遊戲來來寫一下心得感想。
在這先說明,當前遊戲還在開發階段,所以未來很難講

(2014-08-17 修改)
★ 遊戲架構描述

1. 視覺表現來說我相當喜歡,視覺面比上述兩款遊戲的表現要來得更好,非常漂亮。
( 當個創世神不說,七日殺視覺稱不上理想,特別是人物....有點醜= =|||||,不過七日殺也是有他有趣的地方啦

2. 可以隨意改變地型,採集、砍樹、挖礦、打怪、任務。並使用獲得的材料來製作須要的物品,或是建造建築物。
( 目前應該是確定無法建造景觀,挖掉土無法在填回去,也找不到可以創造環境的方法,無法創造 [ 瀑布 ] [ 湖泊 ] 跟 [ 山嶽 ] 等等環境景觀 。

3. 可以在天上飛,在水中也別有洞天,海邊非常漂亮~還有海浪,沒發現有釣魚這東西,水下打魚,打怪到是完全沒問題,這點我很喜歡。水中的感覺相當吸引我,希望視覺上可以進一步強化,如水草、珊瑚、貝殼、當然外星球是沒有這東西的,我只是舉例,重點是要點出氣份。 不過水的3D流體力表現,看得出來在碰撞處理上還是很有進步空間。


4. 這款遊戲裡面有 [ 動力系統 ] 與 [ 能源 ] 的概念,而且可以自己打造,有帶入一點Spore的味道。光以這點來說,我就會給予很高的評價。想開車~自己研發、想作直昇機~自己研發、自動防位系統也可以研發。

---完全創造模式---
這裡指的是像Spore那種完全創造模式,他裡面也可以作盔甲等等相當多的東西,可是不能進行完全創造。能完全創造,而且可以互動使用的東西只有下列的項目 :

目前確定可以完全創造 [ 較具互動特性 ] 的的物品有
[ 近戰武器、盾、槍、車子、機車、飛行交通工具、船 ]
而且還可以下載其他玩家創造的物品來使用,創造模式非常優異,懂一點3D概念就可以上手。
不過工具不夠完善,畫起來有點辛苦,建議多用鏡像可以省很多時間
( 我看到有人設計出 [ 星海爭霸 ] 的大和戰艦,確定可以下載,沒有嘗試上傳 )
( 創是神的MOD也有提共動力系統。七日殺則沒有,電鑽可不是動力系統.....我認為不是

5. 可以帶2個夥伴上路,他們可以各自配上裝備,還有自己的技能,這點真得相當有趣。可以給傭兵食物~他肚子餓了會吃,也可以給他補血物品

6. 廣大的世界,冒險打BOSS (或是稱為巨型怪) 世界的景觀很漂亮
( 我想他的遊戲世界應該不是隨機產生的,能夠隨機當然更好,不過對這類的遊戲來說,似乎相當的困難....
( 打死大型的怪,沒啥成就感,打久了他掉的物品不知道可以拿來作什麼,可能還沒開發功能,真希望可以掉寶,如果可以掉 [ 完全創造模使用 ] 的組件更好,這種組件永遠不嫌多,好想作GUNDAM

7. 中文化,雖然簡體中文讀的有點辛苦,不過總是可以看的懂,雖然有些地方還沒中文化到,不過整體來說很不錯


★ 有趣的地方看完了,來看看我認為的缺點,與疑問

1. 連線模式的穩定性不佳,與其他連線模式的問題。
# 例如開設主機,在進入遊戲主機的初期容易當機
# 連線模式死亡後沒有使用復活針,另外付活的奇異之旅的疑惑
# 合作模式登出後共用倉庫被清空
# 連線模式打死怪以後,無法使用 [ 拿取全部物品 ] 的功能
# 制做建築物的樓梯,登出在進來後會被轉向,要從新轉回來
# 連線模式的傭兵一堆問題,PVP不會幫打,不會吃補藥,不會吃食物,死掉傳回城,別人可以雇用等等....不知道是故意這樣設定的??還是只是BUG
# 雙方採集同一個物品,產生視覺上的誤差,例如挖礦,A已經挖了礦,B卻沒看到那個洞
# 雙方開飛機在天空互轟,畫面會很延遲
# 連線模式沒看到太陽能充電版跟修裝設備

就是一堆奇奇怪怪的問題,希望之後官方能逐步解決這些問題,其中最讓我擔心的還是程式端優化的問題。

2. 打擊感,打怪的時候會有種沒打到的感覺...很難形容

3. 這遊戲並不是 [ 當個創世神 ] 不過在如此美麗的遊戲裡,會想要放牧,養點寵物,過點田園生活,應該可以理解的。也會想作點 [ 庭院湖泊 ] 、 [ 景觀瀑布 ] ,不過目前好像沒有這種功能
( 沒看到他有有上帝模式。不過 [ 當個創世神 ] 不用上帝模式也可以做到這些就是了....

4. 顯卡要求似乎很高,我用的是 CPU i7 4770 3.40Ghz 、顯卡 GTX 660Ti 跑起來是沒啥問題不過險卡叫得很大聲,而且遊戲久了,會有頓感出現,雖然玩起來也沒甚麼問題,不過也是希望可更順一點,希望遊戲的程式端可以進一步優化。

跟創世神一樣,如果大幅修改環境樣貌會給遊戲系統帶來負擔,不過從啟遊戲就會變順,太長時間持續的話,遊戲當機的機率會提高。
附帶一提,我是使用WIN 7 64位元的,記憶體16G。
( 遊戲期間已經當掉無數次了,大略推測4-5小時1次。另外離開遊戲的時候顯卡就不叫了.......

5. 未帶入角色培育系統,這部分也並不是說缺點,只是說如果有的話也或許別有趣味吧

6. 希望創造模式裡面可以有更多完善的工具,舉個例子 :
制做車子、飛機、槍械等物品的時候,材質一旦繪製下去卻沒有移動工具可以移動,這是非常不方便的。選取工具的功能也不夠強大,例如建議要可以選取整個軸向的物件,來進行刪除與控制。
其他像是上色工具,可以增加調整色相的工具等等。

當然創造工具並不是繪圖軟體或是3D動畫軟體,不過這功能完全是該遊戲最精彩的賣點。
不過我相信遊戲開發公司一定也明白這些問題,期望在之後得更新版本裡,有更驚豔的表現。
P.S. 創造工具裡面有做 Ctrl+Z 的功能,我愛死這個功能了。


★ 總結
整體來說,這款遊戲我相當的喜歡,雖然連線模式一堆問題,不過能跟朋友們一起玩,總是相當愉快的事情,各自創造一些手工打造的物品互相分享,還是讓人覺得愉快。

﹣價格是值的,但還是建議等打折,畢竟貴。
﹣MacBook Pro Retina獨顯開全效流暢。
﹣遊戲漢化非常用心,甚至人物貼圖都漢化了,但是設置界面未漢化,不影響遊戲。過場動畫沒中文字幕。
﹣遊戲畫面精美逼真,聲效到位。
﹣沒有第一人稱視角,差評。
﹣沙盒類(MMO)RPG遊戲。
﹣缺少一些必要的操作說明和引導,雖然說跟MC比已經很良心了。
剛開始玩,先寫這麼多。
﹣多人模式在各種網絡下都無法連接,求指導。

有沒有躶體MOD?在線等,急。

能夠自訂武器外型,甚至因為外型不同攻擊防禦能力都有所不同。
