Update v1.0.0.22 contains a number of optimization improvements, bug fixes, and some new content. Those of you who were using the IGPU beta can now use the main branch as this update should resolve most of those issues. Changes in this version are as follows.

*Hot fix updated for Lore bug.
*Hot fix updated for Reina Affinity crash.
*Hot fix updated frequency of True Anemone's crystals.

  • Various retry bugs.
  • Scene bug when Finding Reina playing as Wyatt.
  • Divine decoy consumed double the mana cost displayed when leveled up.
  • Fate Roulette buffs now properly scale with Finisher level.
  • Bug that prevented Warp Blade from activating properly.
  • Bug that displayed incorrect blocking sprite on some enemies
  • Bug that set [R] as skill cancel for Keyboards
  • Many of the issues on devices with integrated graphics.
  • Bug with assist not working if the mana heater in Ishk breaks down.
  • A crash that could occur when some enemies bumped into spike traps.
  • Arrows now properly activate Black Blessing and Holy Order.

Product Update v1.0.0.21 (Main)

Version 1.0.0.21 is being updated to the main branch after being tested in beta for a while. Changes since the beta are as follows...

  • Adjusted bonus points granted for time when completing Goibniu Mode.
  • Added bonus points for current level when completing Goibniu Mode.
  • Non boss enemies no longer grant points after level 20 in Goibniu Mode.
  • Ash Bringer now dissolves if it hits a wall.
  • Holy Order and Black Blessing reworked.
  • Various typos fixed.
  • Hot fix for error on enemy electric beams.
  • Hot fix for slow spell casting while Ash Bringer is equipped.

Assume the role of Wyatt in this Action/Exploration Platformer as you explore the ruins of a holy city that was lost many years ago. There are many customizable skills and equipment that will aid Wyatt on his journey.

STORY:

Over 40 years ago, the goddess Valdis was killed by her daughter, the dark goddess Myrgato. Since this event Myrgato has been at war with her twin sister, Alagath the goddess of light. This perpetual war is fueled by human souls that the gods use to create their warriors; Myrgato twisting souls into demons, and Alagath manipulating souls to create angels. Each day the remaining human population dwindles as they are forced to choose a side or die.

這款遊戲頗有難度,在普通的等級裡小怪雖然沒什麼感覺,
但一遇上BOSS的的能力,威脅度落差相當大(而且很不好升級...)
並且在攻防組合中,按鍵D為普通攻擊,
邏輯上重擊應該在旁邊的鍵,卻默認設置在右上角的W;
S鍵反之是施術,很容易要從攻擊接重擊時因為習慣按成施法,帶給敵人攻擊空檔,
而且無法變更鍵盤設置,剛接觸會非常的不習慣。
然而拿寶箱,連一個普通道具的寶箱要到達平台都非常的吃技巧,有幾次真的跳到想翻桌。
並且這個作品非常吃記憶體,為了跑這款遊戲我還特地去加了一條記憶體升級到8G,
不過撇開這些缺點不談,
背景音樂相當柔美溫和,本來與這類戰鬥遊戲不符的曲風卻意外的磨合;
招式多樣而華麗,並且能自由搭配自己習慣的打法,
想一路用劍、用拳頭殺出一條血路?沒問題,想用魔法、亦或者是暗殺來通關?也相當可行。
這其實與之前介紹的作品DUST非常相像,
只是四個主角各有各的故事,招式搭配變得更加豐富。
還有一點要補充,
就是英文要有一定的程度才玩得下去,
否則看著遊戲內角色講得天花亂墜,自己也是看得一頭霧水。

不錯玩的遊戲..像是
小型的 Q版惡魔城月下狂想曲.
物品多是材料為主.收集材料到商店可以升級 武防.
另外還有不少夥伴技能..要收集夥伴..
升級配點能力.還有一些天賦..
有魔法(好像6種屬性).找Key開門...之類
有些BOSS 還挺討厭.要熟悉一下..
有一兩隻太強.先去其他地區.別打..
遊戲社群全地圖..但是右邊大約還有1/3沒劃出來..

個人覺得比 Dust好玩多了.Dust攻擊飄來飄去.
人物飛來飛去...-.-"

一開始玩還是不要調整難度的好.就最簡單的normal..
因為中間有幾隻BOSS挺討厭.
又或許妳打的順序不一樣 ,打到強王.
人物 應該是最左邊那隻好上手.拿刀的..
不裝備刀可以用拳頭..
還有 去control 設定按鈕...調整成你習慣的模式.

初期魔法補血很好用
魔法+方向.跳...每種屬性魔法各4招.
skill cancel 是閃躲技
assist. 之後裝備夥伴可以叫出來 放個招
focu... 是怒氣. 輕攻擊+魔法 兩顆鈕一起按
fin... 是終結技.怒氣狀態下 重攻擊+魔法 一起按.

之後的
冰魔法的下..是弄個冰柱.可墊高踩上去.過一些障礙物
火魔法的左右..是重拳.之後可打破石頭.
.

最後18小時全破了..

Valdis Story: Abyssal City is one of the best games i've played so far, i've been so hooked on to it that i have yet to become bored of doing the game over and over, it feels like each playthrough is a challenge and the hardest difficulty which is unlocked after your first playthrough really puts your skills to the test.

The storyline is quite a fun turn of events as neither hell or heaven is the good guy here!
You start off on a ship with your crew then some giant monster comes and crashes your ship and you all sink and end up in Abyssal City which is deep under the sea, it turns out that you have been caught up in the middle of a war between angels and demons and your only way out is to battle your way through hordes of angels and demons as you search for your missing crew!

Currently there are 2 playable characters out of 4 which will be available in an upcoming patch. The 2 currently available characters have very different playstyles, one of them is a monk which starts by using only fists while the other starts with a sword, both have their strengths and weaknesses which makes it really fun to play through the game a second time.
I started out playing the swords man in the hardest difficulty and finished the game and it was quite rewarding as i had to put some effort in to it, later i decided i was going to try out the monk and oh my did i get a surprise, it was like playing a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT GAME! i died a couple of times to bosses here and there which i had considered mastered, but because of the different playstyle and spells it really shook me up and made me have another blast through the game!

The game also features a leveling system and a talent tree system which is pretty rare for a sidescroller, it brings out allot of possibilities while leveling on what path you wish to take and what stats you require for your skill tree... Want to be a MONK MAGE?! no problem... Want to be a barehanded swordsman!? again no problem... the game is very well built to give you the different options of choosing what ever path suites you best!

The item system in the game is very pleasing, it's not to complex and not to simple, you will grind enemies along your travels and they will drop a variation of items for you, later in the game you will be able to use the items obtained to upgrade your weapons or armor as you see fit or even expand your mana or health pool.
This really brought out the good old RPG feeling in me and made me want to try to obtain all the items in the game in my first playthrough, i then realised that there are some items in the game that are only obtainable from chests and you will have to think wisely before you upgrade your weapons or armors as you may not be able to upgrade any other weapon or armor in your current playthrough!

While gliding through the game you will fight vicious bosses that will show you no mercy at all, you will struggle and enjoy the sensation of progressing them til you finally deliver the final blow! you will be required to try out various combinations of armors or spells in order to find out what the best possible way to kill the bosses are.
Every boss in the game has some sort of weakness and it's yours to figure out!

The game it self is well designed, the story is great, has beautiful graphics which are all hand drawn as well as amazing music that really puts you in the zone when fighting bosses or while you are exploring the world of Valdis Story!


Pros:

- Playable multiple times
- Very fun combat system
- Challenging boss fights
- Multiple characters to choose from
- Great leveling system with a unique leveling tree
- Difficulties made to please the average player to hardcore player
- Upgrading system

Cons:

- Map can be frustrating for beginners who have not played the game yet
- You will become hooked to the game and not want to leave your computer!

Valdis Story is one of these rare Metroidvania-games that actually incorporates all the attributes of metroidvania-games which properly used and combined. Decent story? Well-developed and complex battle system? RPG elements? Exploration aspects and secrets? Beautiful 2D visuals and animations? All check.

It took almost 7 years for the game to crawl out of the concept cradle but it sure worth it. And the result? Unique combination of old-school gameplay core ideas with a modern approach.

I Kickstarted this one and it finally got Greenlit on Steam. This game is tough and I'm playing it on normal. It hearkens more to the mega man days where movement is very stop and go, and taking damage will completely destroy your momentum. The non-combat timed puzzles are brutal and require nothing less than perfection. I spent a lot of time repeating them over and over to get them right.

Combat is pretty complex, combining light and heavy attacks, along with a block, dodge (cancel), and parry system. It takes a bit to get used to, learning when to heavy attack to break a block, or block yourself. There's a lot of trial and error in discovering exactly which attacks can even be blocked or which ones you should use the "Cancel" dodge. But like the non-combat puzzles, every boss or enemy has a pattern, and this is one of those games that gives you warm fuzzies when you finally get the pattern and beat the boss after the tenth time. Until you figure it out, expect frustration and what will feel like cheap hits. Also, it keeps things fresh when you backtrack through previous areas because the enemies level with you and gain new abilities to attack you with as your progress through the game.

Along with that is a fairly deep magic system and your customization through both stat increases and a talent tree, that definitely changes the way you play your character in many places.

The graphics have a nice retro sprite feel, without reverting to the overdone 8-Bit style so prevalent, lately, falling somewhere between the quality of the PS1 and PS2. The soundtrack is superb, combining a lot of retro synth, metal guitars, and symphonic instruments and spans something like four hours.

This is one of those games that will challenge you, but reward you when you succeed and I'm really digging it. It really does feel more like the toughness of the original Super Metroid or Symphony of the Night to me than most games in the genre have presented lately. And I'm just playing it on the easiest of four modes... O_O
