“7 Days to Die achieves exactly what it sets out to be. It’s a fun and intense post-apocalyptic sandbox with all the right mix of base-defense, scavenging, and exploration.”

“7 Days to Die is like Minecraft with Gravity. Building defenses with friends and huddling in the corner hoping no zombies get through can be great fun. But what keeps me coming back to the game is the TNT.”

“7 Days to Die looks genuinely impressive, and I can’t see this not making a huge impact when it arrives.”

Acerca do Jogo

Building on survivalist and horror themes, players in 7 Days to Die can scavenge the abandoned cities of the buildable and destructable voxel world for supplies or explore the wilderness to gather raw materials to build their own tools, weapons, traps, fortifications and shelters. In coming updates these features will be expanded upon with even more depth and a wider variety of choices to survive the increasing dangers of the world. Play alone or with friends, run your own server or join others.

7 Days to Die development was launched following a successful Kickstarter campaign in August 2013, demonstrating the initial prototype. Joining us in early access now will help support the cause and ensure continued expansion of the development team, their efforts and the planning and addition of even more features and depth eagerly awaited by fans.

Many of our fans have commented in these early stages that they feel we are building the survival\zombie game they have always wanted. Our goal is to live up to this as much as we can and build a customizable, moddable game that allows users to fine tune their survival and zombie experience to create the experience players and their friends want.

  • Create and Destroy - The world terrain, structures and items can be destroyed or scrapped for resources. Re-purpose collected materials to build custom structures and fortification by hand, placing building pieces into the world in real time.
  • Structural Integrity - Buildings and terrain formations which are too unstable can fall apart if proper supports are not built. Some building materials are stronger than others and pieces which break off and fall can be dangerous or deadly if they fall on you or enemies.
  • Item Crafting & Degradation - With a continually growing list of over 160 recipes, gather resources such as plant fibers, wood and metal to create weapons and tools such as hand made crossbows, knives and hammers. As your tools wear out over time, use your crafting skills to repair them.
  • Plants and Animals - Locate seeds to plant and grow vegetables, and head out into the wilderness to hunt animals once the cabinets in abandoned buildings are already plundered.
  • Horde Mode - For times when you and your friends want a fast paced blend of combat, construction, shorter game play sessions and a chance to practice with weapons, Horde Mode places you in a small map area to defend against nightly attacks while the military support air-drops supplies during the day.
  • Cooperative Mode - Tired of zombie apocalypses that are more about fighting humans than zombies? Team up with your friends to work with other survivors rather than against them, using group efforts to build settlements and safety.

(Features in various stages of development, which will be added as the project progresses)

  • World Building Tools and Mod Support - Greatly expanded creation tools for players to create their own apocalypse for them and their friends, including Steam Workshop support.
  • Random World Generation - Roll the dice and dive back into the game with friends in a randomized worlds.
  • Character Customization - Choose unique character skills and perks, what your character looks like and choose which clothing and gear to equip them with.
  • Drivable Vehicles - The cars in the world have long since decayed, but you may find enough raw parts to build a custom ride.
  • Missions & Story Points- Do favors for NPC characters in return for experience and rewards, and learn more about what has happened in the world.
  • Infected Wildlife - Wildlife can become infected. There will be bears. Zombie bears.
  • Virtual Reality Headset Support - For the times when wandering through the woods at night isn't quite scary enough.
  • Environmental Temperature - Find shelter or build a campfire. Cold nights or long days in the desert will make a difference.
  • Weather Effects - The weather will change, and it may influence your survival.
  • NPC Characters - Stumble upon the occasional computer controlled character. Talk, trade or engage them. Locate safe houses controlled by them.
  • Professional Soundtrack & Voices - For those who prefer mood setting music to go with their game, and professional screaming.
  • Terrain Enhancement - The terrain will see it's cubic appearance become more smooth and natural.

Alpha 7 Review - March 2014

I decided to update my review as it was old and new builds have been released.
Would I recommend the game now? No. For a multitude of reasons.

Gameplay - The game still lags (on the one computer i've tried it on 16gb Ram, Nvidia GeForce 770M, i7 Processor, though I will try it on others also), though not as bad as before which is a plus, the game is now playable if you push the settings right down and it appears the developers have updated the recommended specifications to better match what the game requires.

The updates to the Alpha 7 Build include the ever-so-needed stealth system, a rework of a lot of the in game textures, a looting-timer system (with noise penalties) cooking and a plethora of other things.
There is still no random world generation which I was told would be coming 'soon' by the developers which was the games main selling point for me on their Kickstarter.
They have also removed the ability to punch things for rescources such as wood, which makes the first nights survival down to luck alone, as unless you can find something to break down a tree, you won't be able to build, if you can't build and it hits night you WILL get killed.
Bringing this feature in has serverly hampered the gameplay of the game in order to make it more realistic but it doesn't work. In similar games (Rust, Minecraft, DayZ) you are given the correct tools to start surviving (your hands, a rock, bandages) but not here. You start fully clothed (clothing has no status affect) but with nothing else.
For me the balance between survival realism and zombie-shoot-em-up is wrong.

(EDIT: I am so sick of people telling me you can create an axe by following simple steps. Awesome! You can create an axe! My point was they changed this feature for no reason with no warning and without letting you know it would happen when you next played. I am sure I am not the only person who when they learn something they expect to be told when that thing changes.
I'm glad the developers thought that mid Alpha when the game is still running badly and missing most of the features, that removing punching trees was the most important thing that needed to be done.)

Some gameplay feautures I do like though is the new loot-timing system. Instead of being able to see what is in a lootable container right away there is a short timer which in real life would replicate the opening of the container. There is also a noise penalty if you decided to 'take all' rather than each item individually which does add a nice realism touch to it.
But that is my problem. The game doesn't feel like a sandbox survival game, it feels like a sandbox trying-to-be-everything game. I don't feel compelled to stay alive like I do in Rust, or build an awesome base like I do in Minecraft. I don't feel compelled to do anything in 7 Days to Die at all. I just don't find the game enjoyable.

I've left the various 'bugs' out of the review, because it is an Alpha, and like all other Alpha's it has a ton of bugs, included some that are gamebreaking so beware of those.

In all, the game is a lot better than it was before, but it's still not worth the price and I can't recommend a game where the developers believe that anyone who critisizes thier product is trolling and marks all and any critisism as 'abusive' and requests that Steam comes up with a way to 'anonomusly silence and report' all negative reviews or remarks. I have no desire to continue playing this game, mainly for that reason, though the game not being enjoyable FOR ME is also one. I do think for the price, and genre, there are many games that do the job of 7 Days To Die and are a lot better with better communities. The game does NOT look set to be finished in May, and if it is I believe the product would be completely sub-par. I recommend saving your money.

Edit: Due to the large number of people making new accounts to abuse me and downvote my review (this is for you to choose to believe or not, but you're welcome to check the comment section) it's highly unlikely i'll be updating or commenting on this any further. The fact of the matter is simple, if you choose to read my review then you should accept that this is what I think and how I feel about a game, if you do not want to accept those things you shouldn't be reading a review on a game. Not everyone will like everything, it is as simple as that, and telling me I am wrong for disliking a game does nothing but paint you in a closeminded light and annoy me. Maybe one day this game will be good but the combination of the toxic community, fanboys and developers have completely put me off of trying this game ever again.
