Banished 1.0.3 just went live.

Changelist:

  • Fixed a potential crash that could occur if two buildings overlapped.
  • Fixed splitting or emptying herds from pastures. This will no longer cause small pastures to become overfull.
  • Added an option to set the scale of status icons. This is useful in ultra wide resolutions where the icons become large.
  • Fixed a bug that caused large population cities to randomly unassign workers.
  • Fixed a pause/lag that would occur as the game reassigned workers to new professions.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed the edges of tunnels to overlap other buildings.
  • Fixed an infinite loop that occured using the path tool when a citizen couldn’t get from home to a workplace.
  • Citizens without a workplace will once again do any job on the map. Citizens that have jobs will generally still stay near their workplace unless work to be done has been around for several months and no general laborer has done it.

    Laborer Update...

    I’ve been working on a mod kit for the game, however as many people have pointed out, laborers are waiting a long time to walk long distances in the current build (1.0.2), so I decided to start some fixes for version 1.0.3 sooner rather than later.

    In this new beta build, laborers don’t have any constraints on when they’ll go to do work or how far away it is. However, all other professions will still stick closer to their home and job unless a job is fairly old and no laborer has done it.

    You can opt into the BETA on steam by right clicking on the game in your library and picking properties, then BETAs and then picking the 1.0.3 beta.

    I’d love to hear some feedback on this change, or if you think other professions need tweaking for how long they take to do a job not in their own profession if it’s far away. The idea is to keep farmers, tailors, etc from walking across the map needlessly to pick up a single item so they get back to work quickly should work become available.

    In this city-building strategy game, you control a group of exiled travelers who decide to restart their lives in a new land. They have only the clothes on their backs and a cart filled with supplies from their homeland.

    The townspeople of Banished are your primary resource. They are born, grow older, work, have children of their own, and eventually die. Keeping them healthy, happy, and well-fed are essential to making your town grow. Building new homes is not enough—there must be enough people to move in and have families of their own.

    Banished has no skill trees. Any structure can be built at any time, provided that your people have collected the resources to do so. There is no money. Instead, your hard-earned resources can be bartered away with the arrival of trade vessels. These merchants are the key to adding livestock and annual crops to the townspeople’s diet; however, their lengthy trade route comes with the risk of bringing illnesses from abroad.

    There are twenty different occupations that the people in the city can perform from farming, hunting, and blacksmithing, to mining, teaching, and healing. No single strategy will succeed for every town. Some resources may be more scarce from one map to the next. The player can choose to replant forests, mine for iron, and quarry for rock, but all these choices require setting aside space into which you cannot expand.

    The success or failure of a town depends on the appropriate management of risks and resources.

    頗不錯的模擬經營類遊戲
    有點類似古早古早的"法老"或者是"圍城之戰"的綜合體
    內容卻是"矮人要塞"般的困難

    本作畫面還算OK.但是上手難度頗高
    如何讓你的村莊變成大城市,這也是玩家最後所要思考的內容


    一開始的時候只有最基本的建材
    要在嚴酷的環境之下儲存過冬的食物
    儲存中還要注意工具,木柴等物資是否足夠
    人力的調配是否適度,新生兒的數量是否能支持人口老化的程度
    遊戲劇情簡單,但是內容卻很複雜

    喜歡模擬城市或者是城市經營類的養成GAME
    在FPS以及SLG大行其道的世代,這款反而算是不可多得的佳作

    雖然遊戲不怎麼大~
    但內容相當有料w
    耐玩程度真的很高,比起模擬城市系列來講
    這款遊戲難度滿高的,需要花一些時間才能上手
    而且玩法相當多元呢~

    My friend had a Banished game with a man named Garther in his town. He was among the first settlers. Garthar was educated and handsome, but never took a wife or had children - much to the dismay of the town. Instead, Garther took the tough jobs. The hunting jobs - slogging through deer innards to butcher and skin wilderness animals to feed the lesser peons of his civilization. Garther did this for many brutal winters before finally retiring to a small house near the edge of town due to old age. But this didn't stop Garther.

    Oh, no. Garther took it upon himself to then educate the new generation of town inhabitants as their new teacher. In his late 80s. The rugged, elderly mountain man taught them all how to hunt and fend for themselves - and most importantly - how to not be ♥♥♥♥♥es. The town still stands to this day, all thanks to Garthar.

    Rest in peace, sweet prince.

    10/10. Would relive the saga.

    After everyone else in my city starved to death, only Nesto was left. I followed him for several more years as he lived off what others had left behind; moving from house to house to find food and firewood. Nesto spent half his entire life completely alone in a post-apocalyptic city, finally succumbing to the cold one late winter day at the age of 60. When Nesto died, the overall happiness of the city increased. This is the best game I have ever played.

    很有難度的遊戲,我花了很多時間才上手....整體來說蠻好玩的,蠻個職業都息息相關,人力、資源、食物要分配好並要儲量夠,不然災難來就GG囉,有點像生存遊戲,哈哈哈!非常耐玩~比SIM CITY5好玩.......喜歡這類型的就買吧!
