New Build - Beta Branch :D

Hi Everyone!! :D

This past week was one of the most frustrating weeks we have ever had with bugs that *literally* broke Unity. That said - this weekend has been one of the most PRODUCTIVE weekends we have ever had!! :D Everything just seemed to click, bugs were resolved, and a brand new Campaign algorithm has been set up ^_^ I *also* added a ton of new room types to the Campaign generation. They were starting to get a bit redundant and thats not fun.

To top the whole thing off we ditched physics. This makes me soooooo happy. Physics and 2D platformers don't play nice together and it has been just awful for you as players and for me (and Chris) to try and fix/tweak/try not to go insane.

Because that is a TON of changes, we decided to push this build to the BETA branch. A top secret branch some of you have been in on (thank you thank you thank you for all your feedback) and now we want everyone willing to try out the new things to be included (see below).

In the Beta build you will also find the new controls. We want you to try them out and see if you like them. With our new controls set up (for us behind the scenes) its going to be killer awesome to remap the default controls so if you hate them - no worries!!

Wow! That was a lot. Thank sooooooooo much to everyone for all your help in getting this game to a better state! We absolutely love working together ^_^ <3

To access a beta branch:
In your game library, right-click Imagine Me, select Properties, and the BETAS tab. You want to select the Betas Branch and type in the code: imaginemegame (super original, right??) Click "Check Code" and away you go!

Pretty Exciting News for Player Physics

why hello!

hope you are all having an awesome weekend!! just wanted to keep you guys informed and up to date. we are fixing the nasty physics for good! i'll spare you the details (message me if you are interested in this stuff and want to know), but it will fix the issues of 1. not moving right away 2. not stopping right away 3. bad collision detection

This is higher priority, to me, than the bosses. I wasn't going to push a build till the end of the month, but you might see one the middle of next week. I'll keep you updated on progress :D

关于游戏

The world is darkness. My mind is blank, like a void. Except, well, I recall that book...and you! Help Robbe reclaim his memories in this 2D, adventure platformer. Search shadowed dungeons, face his darkest fears - and maybe some of your own.

Dungeons are filled with traps, secrets, and hidden collectibles in this non-linear story of conquering fears and finding yourself. Battle shadowed bosses, find keys, and discover the next room.

It's very very very easy to complete all the achievements ~
说实话,一点也不好玩= =、游戏内容太少了!

那个memory的系统很有意思,这些成就都很容易,只玩了20分钟就全解锁了(我真是天才啊哈哈哈)。听说memory是揭开剧情故事的,到现在还没完成,那还挺期待的。btw随机生成的关卡简直难= =

尽管游戏仍在 eairly access,但是dev仍然努力在不断改进着游戏体验.
新的内容与修改正在不断加入到游戏中.整个 游戏在朝正确的方向前进.
作为一款类I wanna的跳刺游戏,最大的亮点是可以自动生成关卡.游戏中可以收集memory来逐渐揭开游戏背后的剧情(虽然现在还未完成).成就和workshop 据开发者的时间表 将在五月中旬上线.
总之如果你的游戏库里有这款游戏,不要拿他喜加一.过上一两周上线看看新内容以确保你是否会爱上他

I've played a few different early access titles, and this so far is probably the worst. The game is as simple as they come. It is a platformer, where you run left and right, and jump. That is the entirety of your move set. The levels consist of 10 "tutorial" stages, and randomly generated stages. The stages are all the size of a single screen. The graphics are pretty simple, with mostly different shades of green being represented, and some decent but not impressive lighting effects in some of the tutorial stages.

I have a couple of gripes. First, the randomly generated stages. I tried and tried and tried to figure out some of them, but it appears that the way the stages are generated, roughly 75% of them are not improbable to beat, but no, they are impossible to beat. How so? The placement of the exit doors. And it seems this section of the level is recycle through a good deal of the randomly generated levels. There are about 3 variations where it is impossible to navigate the pitfalls and spikes, since you can only jump once before you land again. I am not sure how the developers did not notice this when testing.

Secondly, this seems to be a very small project. I can understand the pacing of development for more ambitious projects, like Starbound, Starforge, Paranormal, etc.. These games are more complex. They will take time. What I am seeing here looks like a game that could be completed over a short period of time. This game has been out nearly a month and a half on Steam, and yet we have a broken level generating system, and only 10 extremely small levels? 10 levels which can be completed in about 10-20 seconds each also, taking your time. That is not even an exaggeration.

Third gripe. The price. Granted, I was lucky to get this game via a bundle. I can not fathom actually paying the asking price of $9.99 for this. I know fully well that this is an early access game. But there should still be some standards. At this point, I can not fully recommend this to anyone at the current asking price. There are far better early access games out there worth your attention. This is just another case of something slipping through the cracks that Valve really needs to put a seal on.

UPDATE:

Adding random generated dungeon did not saved this game.

The controls are still a pain in the ♥♥♥, and most of the time, the maps are ridiculous. And since most of the time you will die for stupid reason, the absence of checkpoints makes the game even more frustrating then it was before.

This game is just a mess. I don't see how can somebody save it.

EARLY ACCESS REVIEW:

I wish I could Imagine a better game..

Imagine me is just one simple platformer. The concept looks nice I guess, but there aren't any interesting new gameplay elements. This makes the game flat.

The art style probably is the only good thing from this game. It's not new or mind-blowing, but looks neat at least.

Everything else is a huge mess: the controls are super weird, you never understand when you're gonna jump high or when you're gonna jump IN THE HEIGHT YOU WANT.
The levels are super easy. Really, no effort. Looks like a flash game from the early 2000s.

9€ for this is a scam. I only have it 'cause I got a free steam key for it. And I beat all the levels in less than 20 minutes.
For now, don't bother spending on it even on a big sale. Wait to see if the game gets any better with the time.

Final Rating: 3/10

It has nothing to offer. Literally nothing. Except tons of achievement for just opening the game.
