Game Update June 17th

System Requirement Change:
PlanetSide 2 on the PC will now require a 64 bit operating system.

New Weapon:
NS-AM7 Archer (Engineer) - The Archer anti-material rifle was developed by Nanite Systems to counter the heavily armored MAX, providing an effective option at range for dealing with the unique threat of the exo-suits.
Gold/Black variants

Gameplay Changes:
Sunderer Blockade Armor rear armor has been reduce to match the other sides
Awareness/Render changes
Awareness based off damage, players who you damage or damage you are calculated as high propriety and are more likely to be rendered to each other
Infantry awareness/render range now takes loadouts into account, players with a long range weapon in there loadout can be render up to 600 meters away, depending on the weapon; this includes AV MAXs and Sniper Rifles.
Butcher horizontal recoil has been reduced from .225 to .213
Tank Mines will now detonate on MAX units
TR MAX Lockdown deploy/undeploy times have been modified
Undeploy time changed from 2 seconds to 1 second
Deploy time changed from 1 second to 2 seconds

Spawn Rule Changes:
Spawn beacons will now be range based, initial distance is set at 600 meters
Squad spawn on vehicles is now limited to 600 meters if the vehicle is within either an enemy region or friendly region that is being contested (capped).
Squad spawn on vehicles within friendly uncontested regions has no range limit.
Spawn on squad will now take you to the closest available spawn point in the region that’s has the most amount of squad members
Instant Action rules have been simplified
Instant action can now place players at any fight where their empire population is within 20% of an enemy’s population.
Instant action will now spawn you at nearest available spawnpoint to the action; this includes Sunderers and base spawns.

Added new Armor/Vehicle flag decals for Portugal and Australia

Tank Mine LOD range increased by 25 meters to 70
Updated TR reticule sizes to be smaller across the board
Since the vehicle ejection bug FINALLY (Praise Vanu!) appears to be fixed, we're removing the safe-fall temp fix from exiting vehicles

Bug Fixes:
Enemy vehicles disappearing when the driver exits the vehicle has been addressed
Medic regen device will no longer regen the Sunderer Deployment Shield
Resist shield now resists melee damage
Defensive/Offensive requests will display on the map
Updated the game credits to properly reflect the change to Daybreak Games
Black Horse Company Armor/Vehicle decals have been made available to all factions
Hacked spitfire turrets should now properly track kills, grief, and XP
Magrider Auraxium Lumifiber Trim should now apply properly
Corrected the TR AMP pistol's muzzle flash to be the correct size
TR Amp muzzle flash has been reduced
Fixed issue with not being able to overload SCU or Shield Generators.

Known issues:
Spawn Beacons are not a valid “Spawn on Squad” option; this means that players will not be able to spawn on a beacon unless they are within the 600 meters range even if the majority of their squad members are near the beacon.

Game Update May 20th

Membership benefit improvements:

  • Removing the Copper, Silver and Gold tiers and everyone who is a member is treated like they have max-level-Auraxium membership going forward, with all the benefits that entails.
Intra-Facility Missions:
  • Intra-facility missions are dynamically created missions that point you towards the important objectives inside a mission facility based on distance. So, if you're near Cap Point A, your mission will say "Capture A". If you're an Engineer and you're near a destroyed generator, your mission will be "Repair Generator". This system is intended to give new players a better sense of a facility's objectives and some direction on how to find them.
MBT and Harraser Weapon Tuning:
  • Enforcer ML85/Enforcer ML65-H: The Enforcer now has a different reload mechanic, ammo will be reloaded one round at a time and the weapon can be fired at anytime during the reload process.
  • C85 Canister: The C85 Canister now has a different reload mechanic, ammo will be reloaded one round at a time and the weapon can be fired at anytime during the reload process.
  • C85 Canister-H: The C85 Canister-H now has a different reload mechanic, ammo will be reloaded one round at a time and the weapon can be fired at anytime during the reload process. Additionally, the clip size reduced to 8
  • Proton II PPA: PPA COF Recoil reduced to .3 and max COF reduced to 2.25
  • Proton II PPA-H: PPA COF Recoil reduced to .45 and max COF reduced to 2.25
  • Prowler G30 Vulcan: COF reduced to 0.9
  • Saron can aim lower than previously
New Galaxy Defensive Slot Items
  • Vehicle Ammo Dispenser: Resupply ammunition of nearby vehicles
  • Nanite Proximity Repair System: Repair nearby damaged vehicles
Battle Rank Certs Until 15
  • We felt the cert gain rate at low levels was too restrictive for new players trying to grow their characters. With this change, each battle rank achieved through BR 15 now provides 100 free certs to help new players get their characters rolling.
Depot Pricing Changes
  • We’ve made some pretty significant changes to our cert and DBC pricing across the Depot. The vast majority of DBC prices will be dropping, some only slightly, but in many cases pretty significantly. There is one noteworthy exception, and that’s NS weapons that are available to all factions on purchase – those are going up slightly to account for the extra value they bring to the table. We also updated many of our cert prices to account for the two years we've let them go unattended – and this meant that in addition to many prices going down, or staying the same, cert prices increased for a number of weapons as well. To give some context and hopefully alleviate some fears, our updated weapon cert prices range from 200-1000 certs, so there’s no drastic departure on that front.
Vehicle Optics
  • Zoom optics can now be purchased independently
  • Vehicle optics can now also be purchased with DBC
  • Vehicle optics will be removed from loadouts and the certs spent to unlock refunded. You will need to repurchase them .
Spawning Adjustments
  • [FONT=Arial] You can no longer spawn at a base that is not connected to your warp gate via lattice unless you die in that base’s region; the idea here is to add more strategic importance to territory and logistics
  • Changes have been made to how we track awareness in an effort to fix issues where you can take damage from a player you cannot see.
  • The tank mine now has a unique trigger sound
  • [FONT=Arial] Pass on all of the icons and text in the HUD, Map, and Minimap to make them more readable and well, iconic. We've also changed the settings for things like when HUD icons get pinned to the side of your screen and the distance at which the opacity changes.
Bug Fixes

  • Speculative fix for the vehicle ejection seat bug
  • Updated Interceptor Windshield and Bumper for Harasser
  • Added grime overlay to Harrasser
  • Fixed Neutron armor to LOD farther out

Hossin is a massive new map that will introduce an entirely new type of battle experience to PlanetSide 2. With its swamp-like terrain and natural barriers, players will be challenged like never before. Hossin will add an insane new element and its 80 new bases are scattered throughout, making infantry combat the most important it’s ever been.

In addition to the release of Hossin, there were other brand new features introduced into PlanetSide 2:

  • OUTFIT RECRUITMENT – New streamlined process for building, seeking and joining outfits. Players can choose their crew, their way with this new recruitment tool.

    - Heavy Assault – Rush into the battle ahead, guns blazing. You are the dedicated foot soldier of Auraxis.
    - Light Assault – Go where the Heavies can’t with your short-burst jetpack. Pick a high spot, throw a grenade and surprise your foes!
    - Combat Medic – Keep your fellow soldiers healed- it’s your job to revive fallen comrades.
    - Infiltrator – Stealthy and silent, you are death from the shadows. Whether you choose a knife from behind or a single shot from sniper’s nest, you are the enemy’s greatest fear.
    - Engineer – A crucial support class with the ability to repair important gear including vehicles, terminals, and turrets. Engineers can drop their own shielded turret and mow down advancing troops.
    - MAX – Heavily armored, cannons for hands, and a disposition to match, you are the ruler of the battlefield and a walking mass of armored death.

  • OUTFIT TEAMWORK: Outfits play a very important role in each and every battle. From a small group of specialized soldiers or rapid response team, to a huge clan that can field multiple platoons of hundreds of players, outfits have access to unique customizations– allowing them to create their own identity and manage their reputation and overall role in the ongoing war.
  • VEHICLES & WEAPONS: Players are able to access a huge array of weapons and vehicles which can be extensively customized for player preference or purposed with unique attachments and add-ons earned in game to fit each player’s style.
  • PLAY FOR FREE: PlanetSide 2 is Free-To-Play with an additional in-game RMT marketplace with items that range from cosmetic camouflage patterns and armor paint jobs, to XP accelerators. Giocone fatto apposta per clan o gruppi di fatto che sia free to play, chiaramente il gioc tende ad essere pay to non ci sarà mai quell'arma OP che killa tutti..perchè parliamo di assedi e difese da 200 persone per squadra..
Da provare assolutamente con un buon pc..

Consiglio per i principianti: divertitevi. Non pensate che morire 10 volte prima di ammazzarne uno sia un risultato scarso. Partite dalle classi di supporto e appena avete un po' di famigliarità con i controlli potete lanciarvi tranquillamente a testa bassa nella mischia, ma non cercate di fare come in COD o Battlefield, qui si muore con un paio di colpi all'inizio.

Non capisco come mai ci sia così tanta gente che si lamenta del fatto che le armi non sono bilanciate, che si muore velocemente e che le certificazioni, la valuta che serve a potenziare il personaggio, sia difficilissima da ottenere. Mettiamolo bene in chiaro: NON È UN GIOCO PER LUPI SOLITARI. Questa è una guerra, e in una guerra chi va per sè fa solo danni, a sè e ai prorpi alleati. Rimanendo compatti si ha una probabilità molto più alta di sopravvivere e di fare punteggio, quindi di guadagnare moltissime certificazioni. Io in 100 ore di gioco ho guadagnato sì e no 6000 certificazioni, e tenendo conto che sono immensamente scarso e tutto quello che facevo e continuo a fare è aggiustare veicoli e catturare punti di controllo (con una K/D ratio di 0,1, a volte 0,2), non mi sembra così impossibile.

Planetside 2 è un gioco fantastico. All'inizio però mi metterà a dura prova e vi indurrà ad abbandornarlo. Io stesso all'inizio stavo pensando che facesse schifo, ma dopo una ventina di ore di gioco ho iniziato a capire come funziona. All'inizio è difficile orientarsi e capire cosa fare per vincere, ma con il tempo questo diventerà più facile e più coinvolgenge. Ve lo consiglio :D

Dopo ore e ore di gioco a Planetside 2 (172 ore), ho tentato di farmelo piacere in tutti i modi, purtroppo senza risultati.
Trovo l'idea di Planetside 2 semplicemente meravigliosa, si tratta di un gioco dove si combattono battaglie infinite cercando di conquistare i vari continenti (attualmente sono 4), quando un continente viene completamente conquistato viene bloccato per diverse ore e poi in seguito sbloccato. Ci sono 3 fazioni con varie storie dietro, tutte e 3 molto interessanti. I veicoli pur essendo diversi tra le fazioni bene o male sono "abbastanza" bilanciati. Tutto è positivo, ma da qui partono le note negative sul titolo: 1) esistono due tipi di moneta, i punti certificazione che si sbloccano conquistando e facendo uccisioni, poi gli station cash, ovvero quelli che paghi SOLO con soldi veri, il che è una cosa spiacevole che se voglio acquistare potenziamenti per i veicoli (tra l'altro ce ne sono molti non ricordo se otto o dieci), per la persona e per le armi delle varie classi o gioco oltre le 1000 ore (non è un'esagerazione, ho fatto un calcolo matematico e sono spiacente di ammetterlo) si sbloccano abbastanza punti certificazione per potenziare 1 personaggio, 2 armi, il c4, 1 granata, 2 veicoli e tutta la tua abilità del personaggio prescelto (calcolo fatto in base alle uccisioni medie eseguite durante un gameplay di alcune ore in zone affollate e dove si conquista in continuazione). Io mi son trovato costretto a shoppare diversi station cash perchè questo gioco per farmelo piacere ho tentato anche di buttarci 25 euro essendo free to play (e 2/4 pay to win), ma purtroppo avendo potenziato tutto non riesco a eseguire un punteggio buono, solitamente vado in negativo tipo rapporto uccisioni/morti 25/26 o al massimo in parità di rateo. Molti potrebbero criticarmi dicendo che devi divertirti sul gioco, GIUSTISSIMO, solitamente non si gioca per vincere ma per divertirsi con gli amici, esatto però io essendo un lupo solitario tendo a preferire il punteggio, poi vengo da giochi come Titanfall, CoD, Crysis e TF2, solitamente i miei punteggi sono a dir poco ottimi, quando vado male faccio 20/15 quando vado bene anche 23/1. 2) la cosa che mi ha dato più fastidio del gioco veramente molto, le armi nella zona di addestramento, un'apposita zona per provare armi e veicoli, le armi da me prescelte fanno 2 o 3 colpi un morto, sul campo di battaglia io essendo medico mi autocuro, sparo un caricatore e lui ancora in piedi, spesso ricevo 5 o 6 colpi sotto cura e muoio... la cosa mi ha stancato assai. Le armi a lungo raggio fanno danno quanto ne farebbe un koala al cucciolo mentre giocano...
3) se dovete giocare a questo titolo DOVETE AVERE UNA CONNESSIONE DA ALMENO 20 MBit, almeno una volta a settimana escono patch, alcune da 250 mega, altre fino a 5 Giga! Se avete una connessione come la mia (purtroppo una 3 mega scarsa) passerete un'eternità a scaricare il gioco. Se siete persone che basta divertirsi con gli amici e non si rosica e ci si fanno 2 risate, ragazzi questo è il vostro gioco, se tendete come me a prendere sul serio il gioco, fate del vostro meglio e vedete che dopo ore e ore non riuscite a fare 2 uccisioni di fila, ragazzi lasciate perdere, fidatevi della mia opinione, non provateci neanche a dire: "Shoppo,gioco tanto così miglioro" fidatevi, non sarà MAI così.
