Absolutely boring !

Everything in this game has been created to make you regret playing it :
- graphics : full grey ! Playing a full grey scale game (and not even strong contrast !) is like looking at a grey sky for hours... Who would like that ?!
- music : you're still not dead with the graphic-design ? Hey! No problem, the music will reach you to death !
- puzzles : some puzzles are just too way difficult ! Come on, guys !! It's supposed to be a f*** puzzle game ! Not a perfect-pixel-skills game !
- Gameplay : ok so you can only move left or right and turn the background to 360°... with a f*** low speed !!!

After an hour playing this game and something like 15 levels with no fun at all, I just wanted to cut my veins !!
A video-game is for fun ! Even a reflexion game ! This one is just boring as hell !!

You want to play real, good and simple puzzle-game ? Don't waste your money (even $1) for this one and fo play to "Monument Valley" or "Thomas was Alone".

Something all indie games should be. So I was browsing a back catalogue of bundle games, (and trust me, if you got a back catalogue, you are missing nothing -- a lot of these indie games are just bad) and found this game intriguing. So I tried it out. What an amazing game. A physics puzzle game is the best I can describe it. However, since I've enjoyed Portal 2 a lot, I've played about six levels in this game and then decided to write this review. I will praise its art style, mechanics, and very polished interface and mechanics, but if you own other physic/puzzle games like Portal then you're not missing anything extraordinary unless you are a fan of such games.

A nice physics/puzzle platformer game in which you rotate the world around to either move objects or make it possible to reach new areas.
The levels start of quite simple and easy to work out but towards the end they can get quite confusing and require a lot of thinking and retrying.
You come across new mechanics throughout the levels.

It's possible to rewind time and undo every action you've made, going back how far you wish and attempt any part without having to redo the whole level. It's slow paced and you can really take your time on the levels.

The game is quite short which can be finished within a day and there's not much replay value.
There's no real story to follow but you can find various bits of text scattered around the world to read.

Simple art design but really well drawn and in grey scale to give each level a nice eerie atmosphere.
I got this in a humble bundle and it's not something I would personally buy but I have no complaints about the content in the game. It's well made and well thought out.
Worth it if you enjoy good challenging puzzles or if it goes on sale.

The Bridge is a great physics puzzle game.

It makes you play around with gravity in 2 dimensions.
You don't know exactly what this means? Don't worry, the game eases you in on its mechanics.

Difficulty:
Although you get introduced to new mechanics in easier levels, the difficulty does NOT go up gradually.
Sometimes you have a very tricky level that takes you 30 minutes or more and on the next one you see the solution right away and are through in no time. Sometimes this is due to the learnings of the hard level, though.
All in all, the game is very challenging and requires you find a new approach in many levels.

TIPP: Do not limit yourself by what you could do so far. Think more like "given the physics, what else could i do?".

Value/price:
Personally i don't judge the worth of a game by playing time only. Rather i judge a game by the lasting impression it has on me.
Although i finished the game in a little more than 10 hours (used walkthrough help on 3 hard levels *duck*) i find the price of € 5,99 (i paid in a sale) totally fair for what i got for it. Knowing it now, i would also pay the regular price of € 9,99.

Reference:
It might not be up there with Portal overall because it's lacking the funny and captivating story arch and because of its shortness, but the puzzles are definitely on the same level.

I also like the pencil drawing style. It perfectly fits in with the music and the puzzles.
Overall i would totally recommend this game if you are a friend of quality puzzles.
Enjoy! :)

The game is actually alright but somewhere near the end my progress was stopped due to a puzzle that was hard for the wrong reasons. Added with the fact that the gameplay eventually became trial and error, I just can't give it a good recommendation.

The game became un-fun and I refuse to use a walkthrough to remedy my situation. Each level became a chore where turning the entire stage was mandatory. It also reminded me of the unforgiving last section run in Ducktales Remastered; it was near impossible to beat and if you had failed a few times you would have to run through a 5 to 8 minute stage with boss battles again. it ruined everything.

At the end of the day, a game should be fun through and through. Of course it can get hard, that is fine, but it should be the kind of difficulty that shouldn't warrant a peek in walkthroughs.

Fascinating concept which intertwines well with the plot of the game.

Curious and progressively challenging. ( I didn't have it in me to finish the last level without help)

Proves that maths and physics are the champions of science.

I WILL find all those hidden whisps and complete achievements.... later, maybe after doing a science major first ;P

Nicely drawn - tricky puzzles.
Somewhat disturbing due to the lack of pupils O_O and creepy background music.

Main gripes:
- Rotation speed could be a bit faster
- Drawing the character at the start of every level is an unneeded delay.

The Bridge is a puzzle game that is using the concept of relativity and gravitation to solve many puzzles and IMO has a really familiar vibe with Braid.
Pros:
-. Really great puzzles and concept
-. Great art and sound
-. The achievement isn't that hard if you can solve the puzzle

Cons:
-. Sometimes the puzzle is really hard and make me dizzy
-. IMO it can be bigger (A little short)
-. The story is a bit confusing

A tough, challenging game with some very clever puzzles. The mechanics take some time to master, but the game does a good job at introducing them to you procedurally.

There is a bit of frustration to be found with some seemingly arbitrary "what surface is solid and which isn't" in certain puzzles, but aside from that, despite the challenge it doesn't get rage-worthy.

And I know rage, believe me.

Did you like Braid? You'll probably like The Bridge. It's got a charming sketchy art style and while it's not a long game by any measure, it manages to wring a fair amount of mileage out of the fundamentally simple mechanics. Because the mechanics of the game are so simple (your options are to walk, rotate, use, or rewind) it's possible to stumble upon the solution to many of the puzzles by simple trial and error, but it's very rewarding to watch a plan come to fruition.
The sparse plot\exposition, told largely through short snippets of text and bits of art, is abstract enough to be either deeply compelling, effectively disposable, or annoyingly pretentious, depending on your preferences.

Love this game, but I will say this; it's not for everyone, sadly. You do need to have at least a basic understanding of extra-dimensional geometry, gravitational theory, and the rather specific(and exacting) branch of quantum physics known as temporal physics, as well as a healthy appreciation for the (seemingly) impossible geometrical art of M.C. Escher. That said, it's a very enjoyable game, provided you have a great deal of patience, and an excellent sense of timing. But whatever you do, DO NOT attempt to play this while you are tired, experiancing vertigo, or otherwise incapacitated; you will make mistakes, you will lose, and you will get frustrated! So only play this when you are calm, clear-headed, and motivated. Do that, and you'll love this game too! :D

The good news about this game: You get to solve puzzles! The bad news: There's a 50/50 chance you'll have no idea what it was you did that solved them. It's a weird mix of pride and confusion, not unlike when your grandmother hugs you and says you're her favorite fat grandchild.

There's also a third possibility in which you get stuck and can't solve your current puzzle, but I wouldn't worry about that. Your brain will have melted down and leaked out of your ears by that time anyway, so you won't even notice your ineptitude. All you'll remember is that you were playing a cool weird puzzle game and there was something pleasantly warm on your neck.

Absolutely a MASTERPIECE and a MUST HAVE in your library. It is surely worth well over its full price and it's often 90% off.

Probably the most entertaining, satisfying and mind-boggling puzzle game ever. Definitely the best Indie I ever played.

I enjoyed the graphics, music, simplicity of gameplay and difficulty of puzzles, lenght, grayscale design, simply everything you get.

The Bridge takes "Isaac Newton meets M.C. Escher" completely literally and the result is as perplexing as it sounds. Natural gravity is disregarded and surfaces twist to bend back onto themselves. However, this is still a physics puzzle game and so paths and solutions have to be plotted out in a place where up and down are no longer locked in a single position. The black and white sketched out world suits this sort of experimental thinking and the dawdling, clumsy intellectual of an avatar does as well. But those same qualities - that make sense as a matter of theme - slow down trial and error investigation causing the game itself to become tedious and frustrating at times. Aggravating as it can be sometimes waiting for a puzzle to finish turning or the protagonist to get from one place to another, finding the solution and hearing that door creak open is always rewarding. This quality shines especially bright at the halfway mark, when the game revisits all the previous levels as mirrored versions of themselves. Along with flipping the level itself, many new obstacles are added, including a brand new timing element in some sections. Surprisingly, these levels feel only vaguely familiar instead of the lazy rehashes that tactic would expectantly yield. It goes to show how well-crafted the original puzzle worlds were and how great each individual, independent piece is.
It's a shame then, that the story doesn't fit together as neatly. It's only told through snippets or thought fragments, leaving most to the imagination. Due to how little material there is to work with, it's difficult to tell if there is a deep, compelling narrative to piece together or if it's positioned as deliberately obtuse in order to hide the fact that the game has nothing to say. The worst thing about it, or the best depending on your perspective, is that I can't seem to stop myself from coming back to it over and over again.

Its been a while I don't play such a great puzzle game!

It is short, but the puzzles are really worthy. The art is great, and the "collector" achievement is quite of a challenge too!
The only downside are the controls: sometimes you wish The Professor would walk faster, and the world spin faster. There should be an option to speed up the gameplay.

The story is also lacking, which is a pitty. It is too vague and easilly missed. All in all, this is a puzzle game, play it for the puzzles and you shall not be disappointed!

The bridge is a very impressive game with amazing art direction, an incredibly abstract and artful level design, and a mind-bending concept overall. The art style is definitely what will grab your attention the most; every single character model and backdrop is very carefully crafted in a greyscale, architecture like style, and every bit of the scenery has something interesting to look at. The gameplay is also very impressive for what it has presented, and each level has its own unique concept... that is until you get to the mirrored world, which is just the same design as the previous levels only in reverse and with a few extra obstacles thrown in. To be honest if there were no more ideas for levels then the game should have ended after the first 4 worlds. But that's really my only complaint and no where near hindered my enjoyment.

Overall this is a fantastic game that any puzzle enthusiast and art lover will enjoy.

This puzzle game rocks, if you think you are clever then you have to try this game. You will employ real world physics, non-linear thinking and parallel logic and that is just for starters. The greyscale artwork works wonderfully for this thought provoking and at times frustrating yet addictive challange.

I could go on but seriously this game is a must for any gamer worth the moniker of "gamer" it gets to the core of what fun is when playing challanging thought puzzles.

On the other hand if you do not like solving puzzles DO NOT BUY THIS GAME, this is the last game a person should buy if they do not like challanging thought excersizes.

I should add there are a few puzzles that require not only a bit of mental acuity but a good sense of timing as well, those are the most frustrating. I would go as far as to say at least one probably requires a bit of luck or just ALOT of tries :) but other than the one the rest are spot on for what you would expect for such a game.

Fazit: unbedingt empfehlenswert.
