Slip into the role of Daniel Hanson, commander of the first mission to a remote planet called Meridian. Assured of the fact that the planet is uninhabited, the unexpected reception of a distress call from the surface could mean many things, none of which you are prepared for.

“One Guy Shouldn’t Be Able To Make Meridian: New World”
Rock, Paper, Shotgun

“Upon first look, Meridian seems to rival – at least, visually – the most high profile of triple-A RTS games on the market, and it was only crafted in two years. Take note, Blizzard.”

“With units allowed to equip items, a leveling system for you the commander, and a new emphasis on storytelling, Meridian may just be the evolution of the RTS genre”

Über dieses Spiel

An accomplished, old-school, indie, futuristic Sci-fi RTS with RPG elements!!

Play as Daniel Hanson, commander of the first expedition to planet Meridian and uncover the dark secrets it holds! Shape the world around you with every decision you make and through every dialogue with your crew. Meridian: New World offers countless options to devise your own strategy, including various equipment options for your units and special abilities for you to rely upon. Use your abilities anywhere on the battlefield and turn the tide of battle by weakening the enemy troops. Alternatively take the covert approach and sabotage the enemy power supply to shut down their production. You can rely entirely on researching superior weapons or special abilities. Or you can risk building a large economy, constructing a massive army from your enormous resources. The strategy you use and how many troops you sacrifice to reach your goal will influence the attitude of your crew towards you. Are you ready to shape the history of galactic colonization?

Brought to you as the brainchild of Ede Tarsoly - the sole man behind Elder Games - Meridian: New World was mostly received with disbelief and awe at the fact that it's a one-man production. While it remains true that Ede is the source of every detail of the game, some assets were created by his friends Balázs Bodnár, Tamás Gyermán and Gábor Menyhárt, who are credited with their contribution.

"Upset" its a okay game the lighting for its a bit brighter then it needs to be unit's movement and mechanics are clunky at best and how several people say it a starcraft look alike and its true the tech tree for it is weird and so far iv been spamming the heal abilities but for me i just ran into it as of 2 hours ago when i turned of my laptop to play it couple hours later i noticed it some how already running when i start my laptop so i tried to turn it off it wont let me and now even going into task manager and forcing it to shut down it will say access denied i can't even uninstalled until its not running so i cant even to that so right now im stuck with it until i get a email headupgames support which i sent it about 5 mins ago so as i right now "I NEED HELP" so if anyone wants to get this game BE WARNED it can be a troll and say "im going to be with you FOREVER"

Feels like it could have potential, but held back by lackluster AI and an over reliance on Zerg Rushes to do anything.

In skirmish mode, so far as I can tell, the AI doesn't play by the same rules as you and will happily send a dozen units to attack your base in the first 60 seconds of a match - despite the fact you haven't even been able to build a barraks yet.

This game does not know how to resolution. Switching to windowed mode, leaves you with a 1024x768 (4:3) window, that cannot be resized to 16:9, and if you force the window to resize (through user32.dll calls) it borks out. In fullscreen, it awkwardly defies the natural resolution of your monitor, and stretches the image. In 2014... really.

The UI, when typing, is rather unresponsive. Press the keys slowly, for every key to be registered. It's terrible.

The AI of your own units is dumb as a pile of poop, making micromanagement nigh impossible. Being able to save hurt units is more luck than anything.

Since you can't see what keys you CAN use, I will have to assume that you cannot group units under a hotkey, which is a default must have since 1489 BC, or the more recent saving hotkeys to map positions since 700 AD. Good job, guys.

Since metal is a music genre right up my alley, the combat music suits me. Though most of the time, the game just quiets down and doesn't play any music at all, until an event triggers a new track to play.

You cannot rebind any keys in the controls options menu (which only sets mouse sensitivity and... uh... some other toggleable option. I wanted to check, but now after quitting the game, it doesn't even start anymore. The EXE file just exits immediately. Well, so much for that. But at least it didn't crash while playing.) which there is no excuse for.

But what upset me most of all in the 4.5 hours of playing the campaign is the dumbfukked AI of your very own units.

For a 2014 RTS game, this really is a rather crap.

The enemy in this game seem to be programmed satan himself, I like to sit down with an RTS build a lovely little home for all my soldiers... But its like the moment I start to build my ♥♥♥♥ gets so far pushed in its coming out my mouth. Feels like Dark Souls and Command and Conquer had a baby and it was born blind with no limbs and severely brain damaged. I forked out £20 for this game, I could have had picked up a rock from outside and beaten myself over the head with it for a better experience and saved myself £20.

Early Access-Review
