150 years in the future, war and destruction have left the world in ruins with few humans remaining and nature having reclaimed the world. Mysterious slave ships harvest the dwindling population and take them out west, never to return.

Trip, a technologically savvy young woman has been imprisoned by a slave ship but manages to escape using her mental prowess. Monkey, a strong, brutish loner and fellow prisoner also gets free by virtue of his raw power and brawn. Trip quickly realizes that Monkey is her ticket to freedom and is her only hope to survive her perilous journey back home. She hacks a slave headband and fits it on Monkey, linking them together. If she dies, he dies and her journey has now become his. ENSLAVED centers on the complex relationship between the two main characters. Players take on the role of Monkey, utilizing a mix of combat, strategy and environmental traversal to ensure he and Trip survive the threats and obstacles that stand in the way of their freedom.

+ very solid presentation, especially the character models are very well done, configuring the .cfg file can improve the results (see the forum)
+ nice atmosphere, sci-fi post apocalyptic setting, nice and original story and fantastic main character with great voice acting
+ gameplay wise it's an action game with some platforming and exploration elements, simplistic puzzles, cooperation with the main npc in order to advance, some tactical options like distract etc. it never becomes boring. it's kind of a game that we don't see often on our pcs
+ fighting which is the main element of gameplay feels very satisfying , don't except variety like in dmc, but still it's done right
+ fluid controls, runs smoothly

- some camera problems when platforming
- more variety in fighting would be welcome

this was a surprise for me , since i don't play on consoles and didn't know the game before, straightforward action-adventure game , a genre that i love

Well... It's a solid autoplatformer. Nothing groundbreaking, but if you're not averse to games like Prince of Persia 2008 or Uncharted, you might find the game to your liking as well. Funnily enough, the platforming segments are even less interactive than widely panned PoP2008 (single button+stick for directional input).

The environments, especially in the opening chapters were simply beautiful. Great use of color, lush vegetation, decayed civilization. Personally, out of all UE3 games I've played so far, I believe only Spec Ops: The Line could top this game graphic/design-wise. It gets minus points for some rather questionable texture work (at times you would think UE3 glitched out and stopped loading mip-maps of the texture after the first one) and the later levels, especially the junkyard ones, which simply didn't look as nice as the opening segments.

Story was... there, I guess. Doesn't make much sense if you try to piece it together, but oh well. It's an action video game, if I wanted a story that wouldn't insult my intelligence I'd read a novel. Characters were all right, mocap work very impressive.

Unfortunately, where Spec Ops was a really solid, (un)pleasant experience, I can't say Enslaved was as stress free. There is a well known bug with the game, which results in it freezing randomly once in a while. I'm not sure if you can call it stuttering when the freeze can last up to 30 seconds, and can be almost immediately followed by another one lasting as long. Also, shadows during cutscenes were beyond broken for me.

As you can imagine, this completely kills immersion, and is downright infuriating if you're hit with this during a fight or a timed platforming section. I hope my neighbors won't think badly of me now, with the amount of swearwords I uttered while playing (or rather waiting to play) the game.

DLC was a completely separate thing, both story and gameplay-wise. And I do mean separate, where the main game had mostly QTE, platforming, fights and bits of shooting, DLC is pretty much a cover-based forced-stealth puzzle game. Reminded me more of an Oddworld game, truth be told. Later sections devolved into shooting galleries, which is a bummer.

Overall, both the main scenario and DLC are a good way to spend a few hours. Your enjoyment of it will be largely dependent on how much the bug I mentioned will affect you, and, well, how much you like interactive movies.

Price I'd pay for the game and wouldn't feel ripped off? $3.75 tops.

A hidden and highly underrated and gem with arguably one of the best artistic directions of the last decade. The difficulty is pretty easy going so just enjoy being along for the ride, even if the story does kind of fall apart towards the end. Still, highly recommended and should definately not be missed.

Also Tripitaka is hot.

밋밋함으로 가득찬 게임이지만 기묘한 흥미로 붙잡아두는 게임.

헐리우드, 전형적인 헐리우드 액션 어드벤쳐 스토리입니다. 남자와 여자 서로 툴툴거리기만 하던 둘이 생사를 오가는 고생 끝에 우정(사랑?)을 쌓고 끝내 목적을 달성하는 그런 이야기입니다. 배경도 헐리우스영화가 좋아할법한 칙칙하지 않은(되려 화려한) 포스트 어포칼립스 세계를 다루고있고, 대규모 액션 연출 또한 블록버스터의 그것.

사실 게임적인 부분들은 굉장히 밋밋 합니다. 초반에는 거의 공격 버튼 누르는게 전부인것 처럼 느껴지는 전투라던가 점프 액션도 단방향의 퍼즐성이 빠진 단순한 구조이고, 보스전 마저도 어딘지 모르게 싱겁지요. 특히 전투의 경우 1세트의 콤보애니메이션이 전부인지라 쉽게 지루함을 느끼게 됩니다. 중후반 즈음에 가면 원거리 공격기라던지 몇종류의 적이 섞여서 등장한다던지 이런저런 요소들이 믹스되면서 플레잉 자체가 지루해질 정도로 단순하진 않은게 그나마 다행스러운 부분이죠.

가장 큰 장점은 케릭터.
일단 외모가 상당히 잘 만들어진데다가 서양인이 바라본 판타지적인 서유기의 느낌이 묘하게 매력적입니다.고독한 짐승남 몽키(손오공)이라던가그런 몽키의 부각시킬 연약한 주인 트립(삼장?), 트립의 동네 삼촌쯤 되는 피그시(?)(저팔계) 서유기와는 다르면서도 딱 알맞는 케릭터를 배치해놔서 게임이 진행되는 내내 매력에 푹- 빠질 수 있었어요.

게임이 끝날 때, 쯔음 되면 스토리상의 욕심을 드러내는데, 욕심은 욕심일 뿐이고, 다소 썰렁하게 느껴지기 쉬운 욕심이었습니다. 어디가 나쁘다 라기보다는 이미 많이 본 설정과 이야기라는게 문제였다고 볼 수 있을것 같습니다. 게다가 은근히 비극적인것도 같고, 결말을 보고나면 전체 길이가 어딘지 모르게 축소된건 아닌가 싶기도 합니다. 사오정이 안나와서 그런지... 우마왕이 안나와서 그런지도 모르겠네요.

닌자씨오리는 참 애매한 제작사인것 같아요. 뭔가 매끈하게 잘 만들긴 하는데, 제대로 이끌어줄 프로듀서가 없는것 같다는 생각이 듭니다. 전체적으로 준수한 게임을 만들면서도 뭔가 중요한 한두가지는 완전히 날림으로 갖추지도 않고 게임을 완성시키는 듯 하거든요;; DmC를 굉장히 재미있게 한 편이어서 닌자씨오리 게임이길래 구입했던 인슬레이브드는 DmC처럼 전투액션에 치중한 게임이 아니었고, 그렇다고 어드벤쳐 액션이 뛰어난 게임도 아니었습니다. 밋밋하기 그지없는데, 오묘하게 할만한 그런 게임이네요. 액션 어드벤쳐(툼레이더, 페르시아의 왕자, 다크사이더스 같은 전투외 적인 액션이 많이 포함된)를 좋아하신다면 한번쯤 해볼만은 합니다.
