O tej grze

Follow a gripping, surprise-filled journey as two dissimilar characters form an uneasy partnership in order to survive through a perilous, post-apocalyptic America.

150 years in the future, war and destruction have left the world in ruins with few humans remaining and nature having reclaimed the world. Mysterious slave ships harvest the dwindling population and take them out west, never to return.

Trip, a technologically savvy young woman has been imprisoned by a slave ship but manages to escape using her mental prowess. Monkey, a strong, brutish loner and fellow prisoner also gets free by virtue of his raw power and brawn. Trip quickly realizes that Monkey is her ticket to freedom and is her only hope to survive her perilous journey back home. She hacks a slave headband and fits it on Monkey, linking them together. If she dies, he dies and her journey has now become his. ENSLAVED centers on the complex relationship between the two main characters. Players take on the role of Monkey, utilizing a mix of combat, strategy and environmental traversal to ensure he and Trip survive the threats and obstacles that stand in the way of their freedom.

Recently finished this game and really loved it. That said, if you're more interested in combat, creative puzzles or platform challenges, this may not be for you. The game is heavily story-driven, and the gameplay can get boring pretty quick if you're not invested in the narrative. Also, I'd highly recommend using a gamepad controller. I started this game using mouse and keyboard, and abandoned it because it was so awful. Only when I gota gamepad and tried it out again did I discover how much fun it could be. The ending was great, though rushed, and I would highly recommend the game to anyone who loves narrative-heavy games. 8/10

Just finish this game, but i will not gonna recommend this game to anyone for any reason.

Let's say about cons first:
- Bad vision (just a limited angle to control vision at many time)
- Do not have a good combat system
- Lack of upgraded content for an action game
- Not smooth enough when parkour/jumping (due to small trigger area)
- Many of stupid situation, such like Monkey can jump here jump there jump up and down, but he can't even jump up onto the place only 1.5-Monkey-high(Normally is the place throw Trip up)!? And 'Cloud' can only use in limited environment or situation!? What a joke!
- Normal story (although it have interesting concept, but the story are just normal)

Now is pros:
+ Nice ending
+ It was fun while riding 'Cloud'
+ Although it was some defect, but they have a good graphics quality

Ocassionally frustrating controls and took a few .ini tweaks to get things to my liking. Max res without tweaks was 1920 but tweaks easily allowed 2560x1440. I thoroughally enjoyed the story. Well worth a playthrough if you like the genre IMHO. I used a Steam Controller for most of the playthrough as the game shows its console roots. Friend played through with k+m. Either way, good times.

Very nice graphics, a fairly good story, without any possibility of freedom explore the world.
I enjoyed the game on Easy. Easy tasks combined with a demanding tasks, but not frustrating.
Approximately 10 to 11 hours of rest.

Different is Extras, Pigsy. All one level of difficulty. I ended up very quickly on the task: Kill 5 mechs within 5 seconds.
Target exactly on the head, 3-4 running mechs which kill you on one hit, with my gamepad is impossible.

Satisfaction 80%.

A very easy game to play for relaxation. Graphics are very nice with a very lush post apocalyptic setting that will make lovers of scenary very happy. The gameplay itself is uncomplicated, fast to grasp. This might be a let down for some as most of the game, the parcour side, is telegraphed and leave no room for failure. the combat, wile easy, give you enought options to not be a total bore.
the strong point, beside an interesting story, is the evolution of the 2 protagonists' relation.
This game is not for people who need a challenge. but if you want a casual experience, this is it. And if you manage to find it at less than 10$, it will be worth your money.

Not a game for those that are the sniper-type player. The game itself would be less of an issue if I were not constantly fighting the view. During the game I cant seem to find the right balance between the mouse and the rest of the controles to keep the targets in view for attacks.
Turning Monkey around is a slow process making boss fights not easy at all. Same for turning the view to point at enemies for Plasma/Stun blasting is a slugish task.

I will try to get to the end but no way will I even attempt to try the game at normal or higher settings.

Like others mentioned the artworks is not that bad either.

Ninja Theory is one of my liked studios. They have made good games but nothing that has pushed them into that great level it seems. Enslaved is one such game. You play as Monkey and from his posture to his climbing acrobatics the name fits. In a dystopian future you break free on an air ship and do battle with the machine guards. The combat is simple but can be fun nontheless. Getting enslaved by a computer hacking beauty once on the ground for the purpose of safely seeing her home begins your journey. Traveling through destroyed cities the game is a fun trek with your budding love interest. Meeting Piggy another character is fun as well. It's not a great game by any means. But it is a fun one with a nice little story that will be good for a play through.

GAMEPLAY

You play as Monkey and will spend 90% of the time tirelessly hopping from pipe to pipe, jumping across walkways and climbing buildings while all Tripp needs to do is walk a couple of steps to get to the exact same destination.
What's a little annoying is the limitations on what you can do and go for. You can't jump down edges or leap in a different direction when the game doesnt want you to. You can't even fall from ledges unless you're supposed to. The game insists on holding your hand throughout the game. Despite this, I sometimes found myself in situations of not knowing what to do next, only because the objectives weren't mapped out clearly.
These invisible barriers for a game isnt new or that bad actually... In fact, it's a good thing since I won't ever find myself accidentally jumping in the wrong directions and falling into a pool of acid or something but it also means no sense of danger, freedom or thought needed for the player.

The gameplay mechanics are pretty interesting the first few times, then starts getting rather repetitive when you realize this is what you'll have to go through for the rest of the game. Climb this, climb that, deal with conveniently placed turrets, pull some lever and fight mostly the same robot enemies over and over again that you'll encounter throughout the whole game. Unlike what it seems, this is mostly a platformer-puzzle game than it is an action-adventure game.
Not to say I hate platformer games. I've played games like the Prince of Persia series and enjoyed them, but for a game like Enslaved, all the climbing segments are all too similiar and with all the protective invisible walls in place, there's no challenge to be found in any of it.

There are thankfully several instances of more fun action such as running from a giant robot dog or fighting a big robot that shoots his balls at you, but these are few and far in between.
Levels are mostly linear and despite the changes in environment for each chapter, the map designs never really of changes and soon starts to feel way too repetitive.

BAD PORTING

There's little reason to roam in the maps apart from collecting bright shiny red floating orbs that you can use for upgrades which are pointless anyway. Because with such shoddy controls for this PC port, I couldn't even be bothered to use half of new movesets I unlock. One particuarly useful attack of Monkey swinging his long pole at multiple enemies (space+left mouse) can't even performed with the keyboard, with Monkey jumping up and down like an hapless dolt more times than when he actually performs the attack successfully. This is the biggest problem I had with the game and I never found a solution to it.

Mouse sensitivity is all over place and it took me multiple attempts at tweaking the .ini file and in-game settings to finally settle things down. Even then, I had problems with the aiming controls, trying to aim with projectiles feels like trying to aim with WASD than with my own mouse. People who play on the controller probably wont be affected by all this crap porting issues, but hey, this is a effin' PC game. If they want to port it to PC, then port it right.

A COMPELLING STORY

The story of Enslaved starts off with a half-naked dude, Monkey, being enslaved by a girl called Tripp, thus the title "Enslaved". Many elements are borrowed from Journey to the West, but mostly it's just the characters. Not sure if they were even travelling to the 'West'. The relationship is between Tripp and Monkey is interesting but never fully explored. Their journey spans across a few different unique locations but I honestly couldn't get that feeling of a refresh. Structures and paths are largely the same and having to battle the exact same robot enemies for all these levels made this adventure a tiring slog through.
I can't give a proper conclusion to the story since I've not reached the last chapter, and it's pretty much the main reason why I, and most people I guess, play the game for. But with the kind of gameplay I have to put up with, I don't think I can be bothered to.

GRAPHICS

Graphics is pretty okay for 2010 standards, but far too bright and vibrant for my tastes. The excessive bloom washes away texture definition and environment details and the brightness can sometimes be too distracting instead.

CONCLUSION

Enslaved Odyssey to the West has a potentially good premise in its world that leaves much to be answered but as much as I hate to say this, it just squanders too much repetitiveness, linear level design and gameplay mechanics that makes the game more boring to play than enjoy.

If you're fine with a very mediocre gameplay experience and prefer playing the game for a story or adventure you might enjoy this game. But personally, as much as I wanted to, I couldn't.

Terrific and wondrous plot! I loved it!, It began feeble, but as soon you get to the third chapter, it kicks off!. The synergy between the two main characters was immaculate!, and the end made me think about the precious things in life that we miss by don't taking care of them. A very colorful and creative game that i recommend to everyone!

But, it isn't a perfect game. It has some technical issues that you can fix using the Community guides. And the gameplay is constant enough to make you feel like you are doing the same thing every single minute.

Last but not least, Play it!; it is a Hidden Gem!

Even though the PC-Port is a little lackluster, the game itself is great. One of the best games I have played in 2016 (I've only come across the game recently).

If you tweak the Unreal Engine .ini file, you can play in modern resolution and the graphics are gorgeous even today.

Other pros:
- engaging storyline
- nice graphics and setting
- good music
- the 2 characters are well developed and very authentic
- the fights are fun and the gameplay is overall satisfying

Cons:
- the graphics on the PC need ini tweakage before they look acceptable
- gameplay might be a bit repetitive
- difficulty might be too easy for some (the plattforming parts are impossible to fail)

Overall I strongly recommend the game. Well worth the money and a beautiful gem that is probably underrated.

A touching story that is memorable and leads us to an afterthought while bearing in mind the addictive and clever game.

ENSLAVED: Odyssey to the West consists of several simple elements, all well connected together, so that manages to maintain excellent pace and never bring the player to boredom. But the most important thing in the game is the story, in which the gameplay is just an attachment. Not only perfectly presented, rooted in the realities of interesting and filled with charismatic characters, but also thought-provoking. And this in video games is still a rarity.
    PROS:
  • Plot
  • Characters and their relationships (Pigsy rules!)
  • Post-apocalyptic climate
  • Facial animation
  • Consistent, specific artwork
  • Variety of gameplay
  • Keeps you in suspense until the very end
  • Must-see final (The whole is topped with heavily surprising ending, which every player should interpret in their own way.)

    CONS:
  • Many simplifications related to gameplay
  • Minor technical mistakes

When you finish this game, it feels like you have broken up with a girlfriend.

Don't know how I missed this when it first came out, but am very glad I caught it on sale in Steam. Throws you into teh action right out of the gate, and keeps going from there. If I had to complain about anything, the forced perspective changes are a little annoying, but also completely understandable. But all in all, while I haven't played it for long yet, it's already worth more than what I paid, and am excited to go back and play further!

Enslaved is one of my favorite games ever. I had no idea going in to the game that I would enjoy it so thoroughly. I played and beat it originally on the Xbox 360. I never got to play the expansions. Glad to see they're in the PC version. It is a very beautiful game, especially for the time, and even now. It pull's you into the world nicely. I fell for the characters and felt attached to them by the end. Trip (the female lead), is still IMO one of the prettiest game characters ive seen or played. At any rate, great writing for the characters. Loved the relationship between Monkey and Trip, even if it isn't groundbreaking or super complex. Good and interesting overall story. The levels are enjoyable through and through. I don't think I remember a level that I did not enjoy, or got bored/frustrated with. Great controls as well. I have been begging Ninja Theory for a sequel on Twitter for a loooong while now. Hehe. They are always nice and reply or comment back to me. Good people there. I do think there may be a sequel in the works, but am not certain. On my own Slug rating system I made up just now, id give it a 9.5 out of 10. Wonderful game, but there is of course always room for improvement.

Enslaved: Odyseey to the West is a solid action game held up mostly by its characters and storytelling. In a distant post-apocalyptic future you play Monkey, who escapes from a slave ship only to be enslaved by a fellow escapee: Trip. From that point forward you're trying to keep her alive during various adventures. I can't really go into it any further than that without spoiling things, but suffice it to say the storytelling and character development is interesting, particularly during the first half of the game.

Gameplay-wise you're looking at a fairly standard action-platformer. Monkey jumps and climbs around some crazy - and beautifully colorful - environments. And over time he unlocks more spectacular methods of navigating terrain and taking out enemies. There is an element of collecting materials to upgrade and unlock abilities here, so there's a small amount of customization. That sadly doesn't do anything to prevent the combat from being very simplistic throughout. And even the spectacular boss battles are handled by fairly basic, eventually repetitive, means.

Enslaved is an older game, and it shows. The environmental design is beautiful and colorful, but the texturework is frequently hideous and there's not much detail to anything. It looks worse than a game released in 2010 should. Similarly, the audio is far from ideal. There is no separate voice volume slider, which often results in voiceovers being completely drowned out by sound effects. Subtitles are essential.

The game loses a little of its focus after the halfway point, but picks it up again shortly before the ending. It ends up being a game that's most-of-the-way to being excellent. Yet it falls flat in terms of execution a few too many times to get all the way there. Some sequences are very glitchy and the combat mechanics / enemy variety could've used some more attention, for example.

All DLC is included with this edition, which is a blessing. The character DLC is largely useless, because it only unlocks after playing the campaign through once, and you're really not going to play through it a second time. But Pigsy's Perfect 10 is an excellent example of how DLC can be done right. It takes the main game's formula, but puts a huge spin on the gameplay mechanics and delivers an excellent 2-3 hour linear stealth & sniping mini-campaign. It even serves as a nice self-contained prequel story ... that's best experienced after playing through the main campaign.

Conclusion / TL;DR
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is an excellent "experience". Gamers who enjoy interesting stories, strong characters and amazing environments can't go wrong. But those looking for strong action-platforming mechanics first and foremost will be let down.

Technical Droning

120Hz - Yes, with ini tweaks

Got this game from a friend and was suprised by how much fun it was and wondered why I hadn't heard about this before. A detailed, fun, platformer with a good mix of action/combat. Great enviornments and epic scale. Definately worth checking out.

Nicely done, Story-rich Action Adventure. Great character acting and impressive, expressive facial animation. Eye tracking is quite good so no "Dead-eye" faces.
Beautiful environments and well worth the ride.

Update 3/11/16 - Just finished the game and WOW! great story. 20 hours to complete for me on easy to enjoy everything in the environments AND enjoy the action.

Where was this game and wasn't it in my life sooner ?!!

I want to see more games do to the post-apocalyptic genre that ENSLAVED has done here. There's no cold, drab, desaturated colour-palette; instead, everything from the environments to the characters are beautifully vibrant. If there was a single word to describe this game it would have to be "lush".

There's not much to the story, there's almost no exposition, but that's okay. I enjoy how the very, very few characters interact with each other. The humour and insults exchanged throughout the dialogue are quirky at first, and there were a few words said that I wasn't expecting to hear from a game such as this, but I found it hilarious and strangely comforting. Maybe because I'd grown attached to what appears to be the only humans left in existence.

There are a number of issues, though. Firstly, the battle camera is horrendous, it makes fighting a lot more difficult than it needs to be as there is no lock-on camera. The field of view is so close to your character it's hard to tell when to block or evade an incoming attack. The battle system is also quite clunky, fighting numbers of enemies at once with melee attacks is sometimes frustrating and tactics such as countering and evading attacks aren't accurate. I found that maximising your ranged weapon's upgrades makes it a lot easier in order to manage groups of enemies from a distance.

The story also seemed to come to an abrupt end. I feel as though an additional one or two chapters would have improved how the last portion of the game unfolded but that's not to say it was a poor ending, it just seemed to be over sooner than I'd have liked. It's a shame too, because the ending raised more questions than had been answered; it was a huge contrast to what I'd previously experienced through my journey and not at all something that I expected to happen.

I also hugely appreciate that the optional collectibles throughout the map actually add to the significance of the story. It's not clear at first what meaning is behind them but it all comes together quite neatly in the end.

This was one cool game for me, an experience I did not regret.
What I liked most is the story, characters and their interaction/relationship, the art direction as the world created was really cool.
Combat is good - Prince of Persia combined with some Batman.
On dislike side I would say the patforming stuff, due to being really really limited.
If you are looking for a cool story, a nice adventure, then this would be for you.

This game is BEAUTIFUL!! I don't mean the graphics (well, graphically it's beatiful as well), but the atmosphere, the design and the story - they are just BEAUTIFUL. The gameplay is like a lighter Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time with a bit too much climbing, but that's ok. The soundeffects, the music and especially the voice acting are awesome. The only problem this game has is the terrbile controls, the dumbass mouse and camera handling. And they are more frustrating in the Pigsy's Perfect 10 (it's a separate little story where you play as Pigsy - you can find it in the Extras menu).

The story seems a bit slow, yet it's not boring at all, not even for a sec (at least to me). The dialogs are well-written, they are funny, sad, touching - so there's everything. And the ending... Hard to not spoil it, so I just tell ya it's damn cool, I really like it.

I hate that with full of my heart when a game has bad or worse controls/camera, nevertheless the Enslaved is absolutely worth to play.

And one more thing: I don't quite think she did the right thing...

Asian would know the classic story of Journey to the West wrt Monkey King and his master travelling to the West. And here it's the ang mo selling the same story but a total different twist. Monkey and Tripitaka, or simply "Trip", and of course Pigsy will come into the story later. This game is more about story telling with added action element to it so you can't do whatever you want but a rather "guided" tour. Scenes are beautiful and Trip, glorious. A really nice game which I'm glad I had it in a cheap bundle.

Just finished playing this game, and I can't recommend it enough.

Yes, the graphics are a little dated when compared to visual masterpieces like Wolfenstein: The New Order. Yes, the gameplay is linear. Yes, it's a pretty straight console port where they didn't even bother to change the word 'console' to PC. Yes, the controls are annoying and the camera angles are irritating.

But... this game is FUN. The storyline is interesting enough, but the game really shines through its two main characters--the hulking Monkey and the tech-clever Trip and their journey from a slaver ship to freedom. The way the characters change and their relationship is charmingly set out, and even though other games have done this sort of pairing better (e.g. Last of Us), it's still a great experience.

The combat and action sequences are straight out of a big-budget action flick and the best console platforming. The combat isn't too difficult (if I can get through it, anyone can!) and neither are the platforming puzzles, but there's a joy to this game which is rarely found in gaming these days. It's just plain, outright fun. Even the 'filler' missions never get boring, and it's very well paced.

The graphics are dated, but I think they really push the capabilities of Unreal Engine 3 to deliver a satisfying experience. This is a post-apocalytpic world, but unlike the grey-brown ruins that most games delivery, this world is gorgeous. The ruins of the old cities are hauntingly recognisable, but nature is slowly taking them back--this game is simply gorgeous and uses its backdrops and lighting to the best effect. Even the metal monstrosities that litter its landscapes are interesting and intriguing to look at.

And as for the grand finale... one of the most awesome and explosive action-packed climaxes ever. It's slightly predictable, but worth playing through--and the ending is quite well done.

10/10 would rip off a mech's arms backwards and shoot it with its own gun again.

I paid 5 bucks for it on steam sale. Totally worth it.

Pros:
+ VERY likable characters. You tend to get attached to them.
+ They did a really good job on facial emotions.
+ Story and the world they crated is pretty cool. Like, futurisitic jungle like. Mother Earth reclaimed the world.
+ Combat controls are pretty tight.

Cons:
- Characters get stuck on everything causing you to have to restart at checkpoints. This happens to me often. I've had to restart from dying maybe twice so far. I've restarted the game about 7 times now because characters getting stuck on a step or next to a ladder.
- It's a cheap platformer. All the puzzles, everything platformer related is about as simple as you can get. There's no challenge, you can't even fall off edges from bad timing, you just push 1 button and the game does the rest. The puzzles are so monotonous and pointless it feels like it's almost a middle school programming project. There's times you have to throw your partner "Trip" up to a handle or something for her to climb to get around. You're always told to find another way, a harder way to push the "platforming". You could, more easily, just go the route Trip takes but that would mean less jumping around like a monkey. It's POORLY implemented.
- All the graphic options have to be set through an .ini file. Resolution doesn't even change when using the option in game. This is a POOR oversight, and how they missed it is beyond me. They obviously don't know the different between 1024x768 resolution and 1920x1080, because they'd have noticed when setting it to 1080 it never changes.
