Sobre o jogo

This galaxy is ancient, and its first intelligent life was the civilization we call the Endless. Long before our eyes gazed upon the stars they flew between them, though all that remains of this people is what we call Dust. A substance found scattered or in forgotten temples, it once gave powers to admirals and galactic governors. The galaxy will belong to the faction that can take control of the Dust and uncover its secrets…

  • A Born Leader: Guide one of eight civilizations as you strive for galactic dominion. Will you control the entire galaxy through subtle trade and diplomacy, explore every corner of the universe to find powerful artifacts and resources, overwhelm other civilizations with your advanced technologies, or destroy your enemies with massive armadas?

  • Endless Discoveries: With hundreds of star systems to explore, different planet types, luxuries and strategic resources to exploit, the mysteries within the Dust to master and a host of strange scientific phenomena to deal with, the player will have no lack of challenges. Hire heroes to become fleet admirals or system governors and discover five hero classes and their unique ability trees and specializations.

  • Space Opera: Experience Endless Space with state-of-the-art graphics and interface, switch between strategic battle decisions and long-term planning. Optimize each fleet for epic battles around contested stars. Create the perfect combinations from dozens of unique ships per civilization. Customize your ship with modules, armament, engines and special mods. The player has a plethora of choices of how to best destroy or dissuade his enemy.

  • Take on the Universe: Play against up to seven opponents and build up – or break – alliances at will. Discover an innovative and dynamic simultaneous turn-based gameplay. Simplesmente o melhor x4 espacial atual. Recomendado!

Simply the best space x4 nowadays. Beautiful, lot of research, innovative battle system (and gorgeous) and INSANELY hard, even in low dificulty. Only missed more control over the building on planets, like in other series, but this don't tarnish the game. Recommended.

Overall info

Enjoyable and fun game experience. Can be a little frustrating at the beginning but once you get into it will consume you. Lore of the game is really interesting , races are well designed and unique. AI isn't that great, even if its you best friend he will probably attack you becouse 1) you have a higher score than him 2) he has no room to expand. So yeah diplomatic is kinda hard in this game, one of the most difficult victories to achieve.

There is also a supremacy ( aka conquest homeworlds ) , expansion ( own 3/4 of galaxy ) and wonder victory.

So I suggest cooping with a friend becouse its always more fun. Games lenght depends on your map settings, they can last few hours or even days. There is lots of customization when it comes to the galaxy settings, like shape , size , ammount of planets and their size, events etc.

Races are also great. There is a race that devours worlds so they need to expand if they want keep their strenghts up, pacifist robots , religious robots , various humans sub-factions, et's , some kind of samurai aliens and finally my fav race Harmony.
Race made of living crystal that wants to purge galaxy of dust ( aka gold, game income ).
There is also an option to modify current races and select different traits for them, its a fully customizable.

Soundtrack is amazing, really enjoyable to listen.

Flaws
~~What are the minuses ?
AI cheats a little , how is that possible that he can manage so many fleets and still have a decent income.

Combat system is unbalanced. Kinetics op - even when they were designed for close combat they deal sick dmg at LONG range, just go full kinetics and every game is won.

Bomber units are useless.

UI could be a bit better. Becouse later in the game micromanaging your entire galaxy gets a bit annoying, yes there is an AI governor to help with that but that isn't always a good option to choose.

And many other small things that you will probably get annoyed by them and you will think "what the heck devs where thinking".

So yeah , its worth a money especialy when its on the sale. Buy it together with the Disharmony DLC becouse it adds lots of new stuff and overall gives a better player experience than vanilla.

This game is like an attractive girl with some very bad habits and/or attitudes. I tried to love this game, I tried to overlook the bugs, but I can't, they are too obvious. It is a good game, but sometimes, I cannot tell if some of the stuff they have are supposed to be features or bugs. For example, enemies can move during MY turn. If I wanted my enemies to move at the same time as me, I would go back to Sins of a Solar Empire.

Bugs
Another frustrating thing is that my main fleet was trapped in a star system for X amount of turns because the AI, for whatever reason, decided to send 10 individual ships to that same system and set them on blockade mode. I can only kill 1 at a time so the chances of that fleet leaving on its own was close to zero, unless I mount a rescue.

Diplomacy
The diplomacy is broken beyond believe. AIs often offer star systems and resources as part of their Cease Fire agreements. However, these agreements would be undone next turn, because the systems they surrendered contain the same resources in the agreement, so they have no more resources to pay me. Another thing that is annoying is that I do not understand why "create alliance", "cease fire" and such needed to be researched. When someone is beating your @$$, you would instinctively yell 'stop', not to these advance space beings apparently.

Tutorial
The tutorial is inadequate at best. After going through the whole tutorial, I still don't grasp the important points of the game such as battles and ship designs until I googled them. I figured the rest out because of my past experience with Alpha Centauri and Civ.

AI
The AIs are dumb and overly aggressive. By 20-30 turns, my closest neighbour declared war on me for absolutely no reason at all. At least in AC or Civ, they would give you some sort of warning, but not Endless Space! It will f--k you when it feels like f--king you up, regardless of their capabilities. And they refuse to make peace when they just lost all their ships. Based on my reading on multiplayers, it seems that it is buggy as hell online as well. So this game doesn't have much going for it, since you can't play with the AIs and you can't play with other people.

Difficulty
In Civ V, they have a nice range of difficulties, ranging from settler to deity (8 levels). In ES, they have something similar too. However, the problem is that the gaps between each is as wide as the Grand Canyon. Say, ES's normal is like Civ's Chieftain or Warlord, its hard mode is like Deity. So either the game is too easy for you to learn from, or it is so hard that you just can't survive past the 100th turn. I was either bored or frustrated.

Research
Regardless of your fraction, you almost always research the same techs every time. Colonize planets, Enhances weapons, Make ships bigger, Enhances more weapons, Make ships even bigger, with the occasional resource unlocking, incoming increasing, happiness inducing tech here and there.

Victory Warning
While I appreciate the game for telling me that the AIs are winning, it doesn't need to start reminding me when they are only 10-20% complete toward certain victories. A even more ridiculous example is when I am at 60% completion, they warn me of this AI who is close to winning the game at 20%. Very helpful indeed.

Conclusion
I paid around $15 in Nov of 2013 for both Endless Space and Disharmony. I want my money back and I am trying to save yours here. This game is great in the sense that it is like Alpha Centauri but on a galactic scale. It's like Civ 5 with levelable heroes. The management/production system is nice. But everything else is not. The concept is great but it is very poorly executed or maintained (based on my investigation, a lot of bugs seemed to stem from Disharmony).

I have uninstalled this game after close to 100hours of play and it will take a major cleansing for me to reinstall it and give it another go. This game as it stands is worth $5 at best, anymore, you are getting ripped off. Spend your money elsewhere. Thanks for reading.

Update/Sales
Jun.25, 2014 - currently at $7.49USD (75% off). Best discount I have seen since I bought the game. If this game interests you and you don't mind the bugs/features, then GO FOR IT quick. It is a good price.

This game owns and is one of the best space empire building games since GalCiv2. That being said, diplomatic victory is about as fun as watching paint dry and should be avoided at all costs unless you're achievement hoarding.
