This game is "man vs machine" third person shooting adventure, the enemies are all robots

Binary Domain has decent graphic, good gameplay mechanics, nice audio, nice storyline.

Not only jump into a boring plain third person shooting adventure just simply running and walking shooting from one place to another, but we can also taste many fun from another scene and combat scenes like : survive from collapsing skyscraper building, gun fire in fast moving train against robots, gun fire in a crazy street racing against super big size boss motor robot, driving jet skies.

+ Having various kinds of weapons
+ Big ammo supplies
+ I like the default assault rifle, which can blast energy ball (can be upgraded if u buy Binary Domain DLC Pack)
+/- The game has decent difficulties (Will be very hard to defeat boss)
+ Found many strong unique big size robot boss enemies
- For such hard game it has low medical supply (only 3 per person)

About online Binary Domain ? IDK i dont even try, and I personally prefer to play offline for such kind of game

But well... I can say this is really a great game

Binary Domain gives you a funny but also deep story with an arcady gameplay mechanic. If you are searching for a game that doesnt take itself serious. A game that jokes around all the time but also has a deep story in a sci-fi setting. With plot-twists, you do not expect to come up with. Then Binary Domain is the ideal game for you! You will not find any other game that challenging, funny and serious at the same time!

Play time: 14 hours (main story, not rushed)

+Blasting robots to pieces is great fun
+Nice arcade style feel to the game with large boss battles

-Some boss fights are much harder than the rest of the game, making for a frustrating experience
-Gameplay can get a bit repetitive
-Team member system is lacking
-Weak character design

Plays well with Xbox 360 controller and keyboard/mouse alike.
Graphics performance R9 280X, 1080P max settings: 60 FPS (V-sync) almost all the time.

I wouldn't recommend Binary Domain to everyone, but if you think third person cover shooters can be your thing, it can be worth picking up at a sale. I wouldn't recommend the game at full price.

The game has a nice arcade feel to it: it looks and feels great mowing down robots, piece by piece. The destruction is one of the best things in the game, where bits and pieces are blown away from the enemies the more you shoot at them, and shooting off certain limbs can have strategic advantages.

You select team members to join you on the missions, and you can give orders to them, but the system isn't that deep.

Almost all of the team members have cliché personalities, and you don't get too invested in the story.

The game has a few large boss battles, some are fun, but a few (especially one - mid game, not the final battle) felt much harder than the rest of the game, making me almost give up. These difficulty balancing issues can get frustrating.

Not the best third person shooter out there, but still enjoyable if you don't expect too much from it.

This game is a Third Person Cover Shooter, and is pretty solid at that, it reminds me of Mass Effect without all the powers. The guns feel nice and it is satistying to shoot the enemies as they shatter and crumble with each bullet.
Weapon variety is really bad as you are stuck with a primary weapon, that you can upgrade along the game, a sidearm wich is just a pistol, and a really low and generic variety of secondary choices[SMG,Shotgun,LMG,Sniper,RPG, that's all].
The game also tries to inovate by having Voice Input but it's really finicky and I reccomend turning it off, the game says you will have limited interactions but you can still press and hold tab to open the order menu.
The graphics are nothing groundbreaking but the settings are varied and really well constructed.
The concept for this game's story and world is a mix of I Robot and Blade Runner but it really lacks in worldbuilding and character development and apart from one plot twist right at the end it's way to predictable, if a sequel ever comes out I would be really interested in it if they gave the plot more attention.
This game's port is not very good as all graphical, audio and input settings must be done via an outside game config menu wich is really a shame for an otherwise solid port,

+Solid gameplay
+Satisfiying to mow down enemies
+Awesome concept and setting
+Good Lengh on the campgain clocking at 8~10 hours on normal difficulty

-Wasted Potencial Storywise
-Shallow mechanics
-Bad Weapon Variety

Binary Domain is a hidden gem and deserves your attention if you really like mowing down a thousand robots while going from point A to point B, the story can be enjoyable but it's nothing to write home about, put it on your backlog and get it on a nice sale at a nice discount.

Game is just amazing. Good graphics, great style, awesome story, great characters, satisfying gameplay. WTF else do you need?
It feels very japanese. Some moments reminded me of MGS Revengeance strongly.

Binary Domain
- often called "one of the most underrated games of all time"
- Gears of War clone with robots, japanese giant bosses and quite exaggerated plot - surely I don't know why people didn't want to play this game
- you kill robots
- Characters in this game are pretty good - Dan (yankee), Bo (Black Guy), Faye (boobs and booty), Cain (french robot painted in white) and two other folks which I didn't take to my team.
- Also this game has Kurosawa and Mifune
- Scriptwriters took a lot from Asimov novels. Most of script surprises you can easily guess, however there is one plot twist (and its twistin' and twistin' like Travolta on cocaine).
- High Chest Walls Detected
Quite good game, nice graphics - 8/10, would kill Drednot again.

So, it is worth mentioning that the game has its moments. As soon as you start it does SUCK, I was about to stop playing until got through first chapter. All seemed too cliche and too clumsy also the controls were quite wierd for me.
But then it just devoured me... I mean, the plot the gameplay and the "Surprice Surprice" all those cliche characters started making sence and the game humour made it more enjoyable.

What I personally consider as pros:
+ Nice story - closer to the end you actually start to love it and enjoy, because first couple of minutes - i just hated it. The story is, frankly, nothing new, especially with all dem "Deus Ex" and what not but it has it's own nice twists and turns for which I liked it so much.
+ RPG Element - It's quite funny to see how your replies matter on the way other caracters feel for you.
+ MassEffect 1 Style upgrading Remember we all loved how the weapon upgrades worked in ME1? Well, you'll see plenty of that stuff in "BD" and imho here it's even better =)
+ Relaxing Shooter - When you got tired of all those fast action FPSs and TPSs and want just to relax and hit the mouse button - definitely your choise
+ Not "Soupy and Blurry" cutscenes - Even though there is a lot of cutscenes they are looking in most of the cases good. And the cheeziness of characters plays well with it.
+ Nice number of minigames - game has something like 20 minigames where you have to dive, drive, shoot out of a truck, train and etc. for you to change the gameplay and entertain =)
+ The Super Populair QUICK TIME EVENTS - because there can simply not be a game without that thing, but they are set in logical places and actually help to expand the story

Some cons as well:
- Mostly stupid AI - It was not easy for me,personally, not to loose sometimes the rep among squad due to idiotic mates who run into crossfire for no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason. But then again - you get a headshot and rep is back to where it was.
- A corridor Shooter - Even though some might love them, I find it a bit sad that there was always just one ruite to go.
- Story is incredibly dumb in the beginning - I'm afraid many might drop it before playing due to that very reason.
- I find the standart controls and mouse sencitivity not very comfy IMHO it took some bits of time to get used to either super fast steering with mouse or vice versa super slow, which was not very pleasant thing in the begining. Especially when your rifle is ♥♥♥♥ at first =)

Nevermind all of the cons, the game is very good.
I'ld rate it 8.5/10 for my own reasons but I really enjoyed spending time in it.
If there would have been a part 2 - " yes m8, I'ld buy it 8/8 "

A game that was buried beneath a lot of other releases even when it just came out.
While not a perfect game this is a very enjoyable experience. The combat mechanics are pretty standard third-person shooters but it works pretty well and breaking robots down into parts is a satisfying experience. The cover system is a bit rigid but allows for plenty flexibility. Graphically the game is clean and smooth, while never spectacular there are some nice effects and it fits the setting.

Bossdesign was enjoyable and creative, at times the controls combined with the obvious focus the AI has for your main character where a bit of a hassle but nothing that ruined the game.
The story is entertaining and does keep you guessing as to how it will end, it however most issues would be solved by the invention of a metal detector. The friendship/loyalty system is basic in a good way and you do feel like it makes a difference in both the story and the interactions. Troy Baker pulling of an oddly satisfying British man only adds to this.

PC controls are pretty solid, it suffers from the usual porting problems where the button icons correspondent with the actions and not with the key it's bound to. If you happen to have a gamepad plugged in this is highly recommended for the 2 sections where you man a turret.

As it looks now there won't ever be a sequel, a shame because a bit more refinement and expansion on the basics would elevate it to a superb game. All in all though I really enjoyed my time with it and it comes highly recommended.

Absolutely yes! I didn't know about this game, until I saw it in some video about "underestimated games". I decided to give this a shot, and I don't regret any cents I spent on this gem.

-Awesome shooting mechanics
-Enemies have highly defined hitboxes
-The ambient is really enjoyable
-Smooth and Fast gameplay
-Story is also good
-It has something in it that really recalls about those Arcadey Japanese games, can't tell what, but it's really neat.

-SSAO is a bit of low-definition. You can see some noises quite often, but nothing you would notice during action
-Characters often repeats the same phrases for example, when you go down

I would totally suggest this game to any sci-fi/robotstuff lovers out here.

This is the case you don't expect anything good...and you enjoy almost every minute in game. Binary Domain is like Contra Hard Corpse on Sega Megadrive II + Gears of War. I dont remember anything in this game to be really bad... exept menu :D Don't hesitate to get it, the price is....well they almost pay you to play it. Even multiplayer may be alive during the sale time.
Это тот случай, когда не ждешь ничего хорошего...и получаешь удовольствие от почти каждой минуты. Binary Domain похожа на смесь Contra Hard Corpse на Sega Megadrive II и Gears of War. Не припомню, чтобы в этой игре хоть что-то было действительно плохо...кроме меню :D Без раздумий берите, цена такова что вам практически платят за то, что будете играть. Во время распродажи возможно даже удастся сыграть в мультиплеер.

Story 10/10
there are just to few good 3rd Person Shooters with even a Story and i really started the game because of the fact.
Just as i expected typical gameplay for a Shooter but its quite fun tho.
The story itself got some really nice plot twists and really keeps you playin the game as it developes!
I recommend it to everyone who like games like Bioshock inifinite (That story tho...)
Play it and you wouldnt regret it!

Just finished this gem.
Severely under rated game!
68/100 metacritic? Were you refused to be paid for a good review?
That's all I can think of because this game is exceptional.

Simplified overview: If you enjoyed the play mechanics of Gears of War, you will enjoy this too. It feels EXACTLY like Gears of War set in the robotic future. If that interests you, I promise you won't be let down.

I'll start with cons since there are so few.
- You are one unnaturally tough S.O.B. (this gets countered by the occasional OP A.I. weapon)
- No exploration in the game, no side missions, and I still don't know what the purpose of those little hologram diary things are that I picked up throughout the game. I'm sure it's just achievement oriented as it does nothing in game.
- Game was just too short! I think I got about 12 hours out of it, about half of what it usually takes me to finish a FPS.

+ Weapon upgrade system (slightly limited as in you will upgrade every component of your weapons by the end of the game, but you decide what to upgrade first. I would have liked to see more options)
+ Many different bosses. Simply more than any other FPS I have played, and they all require different fighting methods to defeat them.
+ Many different enemies. Ok it's a game about robots so it could probably get away with having the same few enemy skins throughout the game better than others, but it doesn't need to. There is a wide variety of enemy types. I guess that's the other side of robots, the designers had free range to come up with many unique "frames" for you to combat against.
+ Surprisingly engaging story and for maybe the second time ever I didn't want to skip any of the cut scenes.
+ Enemies take damage in a "realistic way". As in if you are shooting at a robots leg, that leg is going to fall off. The robot however will continue fighting you, adapting to it's new legless frame. It's really fun picking apart robots arm by arm, leg by leg. Hue hue hue

If you wanted a break from the more stealth oriented FPS', this will do you well. There is literally no stealth aspect in the game.

in this game you have to cut your way thru the story
fighting robots ..... and more robots.....
...robot robots....military robots..
...tiny robots ... bigger robots ....
.... and much bigger robots

it has a main story line but depending on
whom you play with in your team, and
how you gain trust with them, the story will differ as it develops

if you like animes ... Ghost in the shell.. Vexille... etc..
= dont miss it! :)

An underrated sci-fi Third-Person Shooter with a great physics engine.
You shoot ROBOTS.

Choose your dialogue - Choose specific commands for your squad to aid in battle, as well as in regular conversation.

The anatomy response system for shooting is phenomenal - every part of the body you shoot reacts how it would in real life. I mean it's a robot body...but still, the physical reactions are precise. I wish more games had this feature.

Four-weapon inventory system, with one slot locked to your default Rifle that is the only weapon you can upgrade.
Shoot all the robots to gain the points to upgrade.

This game surprised me. I wasn't expecting much, but I ended up having a lot of fun. Story was what surprised me the most... kind of thought provoking (wouldn't normally expect it from a game like this). Graphics were pretty damn good, and the music was tense and appropriate. The combat was always enjoyable and I felt like I was actually doing some real damage to these enemies, something you don't really get a feeling of in many shooters. Bosses were just amazing and imaginative. The only complaint I could really make is of some of the cheesy lines and characters in this game (Bo and Cain anyone?).

Holler if you're dead lmao

Binary Domain has to be one of the more underrated games ignored, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good 3rd person shooter fix as this game explores a concept that we don't see a lot in games aside from some crappy movie licensed schlock; Humans vs robots.

The game itself controls similar to gears of war, taking notes from that game, but omitting some that I think the game would benefit from had it implemented (coughACTIVERELOADScough). Otherwise, the story while corny in some areas, is the typical good guys go in to stop bad guys. What makes this different though is the fact that the game has a trust system with your teammates, and as a result the characters themselves aren't one-dimensional, often engaging in conversation with you and whoever else you decided to partner up; as a result the game has lots of conversation options, and depending on how you respond in game will factor highly later on.

Only cons I honestly have for this game is the lack of co-op, as I would of enjoyed playing this with a friend, as the AI while passable leaves a lot to be desired. Another thing that bugged me is that during firefights I noticed the enemies would always target me, and ignore my partners firing on them despite me being farther away and them being up close to the enemies (bosses especially).

I highly recommend it when its on sale or part of a bundle, would love to see a sequel.

TLDR; Like blowing up robots? Get this game.

I got this game in a humble bundle and the only way I can really recommend it is if you can buy it for less than $5.

That said if you like third person shooters with very large scale boss battles and a decent sci-fi story. Binary Domain is a fun game to run thru over a weekend. The shooting is neat because as you blast the robots their armor shreds off to reveal weak points. However you spend a lot of time in nondescript corridors. The story is good but feels rushed and not as fleshed out as it could be.

My BIG gripe with the story is all thorough the story characters refer to you as “the survivor”
And NOWHERE DO THEY EVER EXPLAIN THIS. Seriously don't allude to the main characters back story of “the survivor” and then just decide ♥♥♥♥ it we don't have time to explain this.

Overall good story decent gameplay, but can get tedious at times, with very little replay value.\
