Acerca do Jogo

The critically acclaimed Prince of Persia® franchise returns for the first time on next-generation platforms with an all-new epic journey.

Built by the same award-winning Ubisoft Montreal studio that created Assassin's Creed™, Prince of Persia has been in development for over three years to deliver a whole new action-adventure gaming experience to consumers.

With a whole new Prince, storyline, open world environments, combat style, signature illustrative graphical style and the addition of Elika, a deadly new ally, Prince of Persia brings the franchise to new heights of deadly acrobatic artistry and is set to become the #1 action-adventure game of 2008 this holiday season.

  • A new hero emerges: Master the acrobatics, strategy and fighting tactics of the most agile warrior of all time. Grip fall down the face of a building, perform perfectly timed acrobatic combinations, and swing over canyons, buildings and anything that is reachable. This new rogue warrior must utilize all of his new skills, along with a whole new combat system, to battle Ahriman's corrupted lieutenants to heal the land from the dark Corruption and restore the light.
  • A new epic journey begins: Escape to experience the new fantasy world of ancient Persia. Masterful storytelling and sprawling environments will deliver to action-adventure fans an experience that rivals even the best Hollywood movies.
  • A new open world structure: A first for the Prince of Persia franchise — now you have the freedom to determine how the game evolves in this non-linear adventure. Players will decide how they unfold the storyline by choosing their path in the open-ended world.
  • Emergence of a deadly new ally: History's greatest ally is revealed in the form of Elika, a dynamic AI companion who joins the Prince in his fight to save the world. Gifted with magical powers, she interacts with the player in combat, acrobatics and puzzle-solving, enabling the Prince to reach new heights of deadly high-flying artistry through special duo acrobatic moves or devastating fighting combo attacks.

Charming and beautiful game. Creative areas with breathtaking vistas. Repetitive game play which still feels fresh until the end. Good character animations. Excellent voice acting. Surprise heart wrenching ending.

Nathan Drake is back again in his newest game. Join The Penguin as he saves the world from a constantly spreading corruption. The Bosses' journey will be pretty easy though, since he can't really die or be hindered in any real way. Still, sometimes Vashyron just wants to take in the sights, you know? Raph is (not) suprisingly really slow-feeling in a fight though. The ending is suprisingly bad, despite Captain Walker ending up regretting what he's done. The bottom line is That Guy From Shadow Complex will deliver you through some entertaining platforming and pretty environments and I guess that's all I really need.

My least favourite version of my very favourite Prince of Persia game

This is a gorgeous adventure game set fully separately from any other Prince of Persia game. It has a great art style, amazing exploration in gorgeous environments of which you'll see both a light and a dark version and a good story with strong, well-voiced characters.

It's not all great though.
Combat is not as fluent as you'd expect, either from the series or an action game in general, and there is a severe lack of variety in the enemies. I'd argue that the focus is more on the exploration and platforming anyway, but that doesn't quite excuse this level of laziness.
Then there's the point specific to this version. How integrated with Steam a game is is completely up to the developers. Since this is published by Ubisoft (which has its own competing system, uPlay) it wasn't much of a surprise to see no trading cards or achievements on Steam, but the Steam overlay isn't even available. This means no in-game chatting or easily checking the time and, worst of all (to me), no screenshot functionality.

If you have a console (the game came out on XBox 360 and PS3 as well) it would make sense to me to get it there instead, but I had no problem with this version either. Just wished it had been given a bit more love in its conversion so that it matches the amount of care and dedication that went into the game itself.

+Best platforming
+Good story
+No uPlay required (or in fact possible)
-Shallow combat
-Poor Steam integration

Cazualisation to the Maximum and beyond!

The First hour is really enjoyable, the characters are likeable, the atmosphere is great.
But after a while you'll just end up wondering "why the hell am I still playing this?".
You really quickly end up doing the very same things over and over and over AND OVER, to the point where it all feels like one big chore.
The "jumping arround" is fun but if you take a good look at it, it's rather limited. You end up running through the same patterns during the whole damn game. You fight each of the few bosses several times with litterally no differances in your approach (fights are just QTEs btw). The puzzles do nothing but slow down the pace for a short bit but won't require you to think much. The game allows you to interact with magical plates at some point, which allows you to get to new areas, but they don't bring any kind of diversity to the gameplay and are pretty flappin' anoying (especially the yellow ones)
The game is litterally just a succsession of QTEs, with a complete absence of challenge. The fact that you can't die, even during combats, thanks you your qt magical gf, removes any kind of threatning situation. All that's keeping you away from the end of the game is just the fact that you have to collect shiny stuffs that are all arround the place. It's entertaining at first but it's really all there is to do, and it's not satisfying.

This game stands as a reminder of why QTEs are dumb ♥♥♥♥ and why having a "fail state" is vital to any game of this kind. Too bad.

after youve completed the first two levels, you may as well just do them again and again 18 times until your eyeballs fall out. its the same repetitive thing all the way until the game, oh yeah and there is no random combat. just bosses. 2/30
