Today, we dive into the first of five videos in which we show off some of the abilities from the various Schools of the Imperium in action.

In this first video, we delve into the secretive and feared Bene Gesserit, the ancient sisterhood of spies, advisors, and truthsayers that manipulates the Imperium from the shadows. Theirs is the hand that seeks to steer the very evolution of humanity. Although an insular and all-female order, there are some who have no qualms about teaching an outsider their ways.

This is but one of the Schools you will be able to learn from in Dune: Awakening, and with the ability to mix and match abilities from all of them, the possibilities would require a strong dose of spice to foresee.

A few of the early Bene Gesserit abilities:

  • Bindu Sprint: Override your nervous system and musculature with an immense surge of activity, allowing you to run forward at an incredible speed.
  • Compel: Use the Voice to force a target to your position from afar. Voice abilities require a short period for you to “register” your opponent before they can be used.
  • Recovery (passive): You are able to heal your body more effectively after suffering catastrophic injury – regenerating your health to a higher threshold than normal.
If you do not choose a Bene Gesserit as your mentor in character creation, you must find them in the world and convince them to teach you. Only one mentor in each School, however, has the knowledge to teach you the most advanced skills.

The first Bene Gesserit mentor is Sister Mesa, located somewhere in the Hagga Basin. Speak to her and she will request your aid in seeking out ancient texts from the Missionara Protectiva – the part of the Sisterhood tasked with intentionally seeding prophecies among world populations to control them – on Arrakis. Fremen prophecies.

Okay, so this is a massive update as we overhauled lots of foundational systems. Like two years worth of stuff has changed. I'm operating off no sleep as we crammed to get this update out the door in time for the Creature Collector fest. It's 5am here, and I'm really tired...so yeah, I'll come back and chat with you all once I get some rest.

Anyway, there are bugs. Some we know about, probably lots we don't. Please use the Bug Report form in game, and describe how we can recreate the bug. Check the Known Bugs list below before filing.

Known Bugs
  • Fish not saving between sessions.
  • Lumaca (blob fish) - Catch Arm does not deploy.
  • Cut the line option missing in all medium fishing.
  • Can trigger Collector conversation while medium fishing.
  • Can duplicate fish in Tank.
  • Can trigger Collector conversation while viewing Tank.
  • Collector panel missing Edit Tank button.
  • Not a bug, you're getting a demo's worth of fish to catch (the rest are ready to go, just need a bit more testing). Also I've disabled the Quests for now. Biff will be back later with more quests for you all.

Faction Battles Reopened
  • With the issues affecting diving to experiences now resolved, Faction battles have been reopened and crews can once again dive into battle using the War Map.

  • Improvements have been made to game stability while diving to experiences. This addresses a recent regression causing black loading screens to become stuck after diving.

Night is Coming - Magnificat
Greetings, Settlers!

Thank you for your support and feedback — it means a lot to us. In this update, you'll find a number of fixes and improvements based on your comments. The full list of changes is below.

⚙️ Gameplay Fixes
  • A notification for settlers fleeing from mobs now appears in the top-right corner of the screen with a blinking icon. Clicking the notification automatically selects the corresponding settler.
  • Settlers will now only flee from enemies if the enemy is actively attacking someone.
  • New game settings have been added: the maximum combat speed and the activation of slow motion only in melee combat.
⚙️ Game Balance
  • Settlers’ movement speed increased by 80%.
  • Movement speed bonus from roads reduced from 110% to 50%.
  • Settlers now slow down when carrying any load; the slowdown depends on the type of cargo.
  • Enemy activity timeframes changed: they will now attack the settlement only at night, from 00:10 to 06:00 in-game time.
  • "Help radius" for mobs reduced from 52 to 32.
  • Enemy vision radius slightly increased so they can reach the center of large buildings.
  • Sunlight no longer kills ghouls instantly — they now take 20% health damage per second in sunlight.
  • The “Inner Fire” spell now restores settlers’ fatigue.
  • Nightmares can now possess Leshy, as well as any animals except rabbits.
  • Nightmare Lairs can no longer be destroyed with spells.
  • The bandit lair tower will no longer attack settlers.
  • The bandit summoner can now summon only one bear (previously up to two).
  • Cooldown for the "Summon Bear" spell used by the bandit summoner increased to 90 in-game minutes.
  • The maximum lifespan of a summoned bear is now limited to 90 in-game minutes. This prevents infinite settlement attacks by a single summoned bear.
  • Bears that vanish due to the summoner's death or the spell expiring will no longer drop Dark Shards.
⚙️ Other Fixes
  • FPS drops when minimizing the game window have been resolved.
  • Fixed recurring appearance of certain quests after loading a save.
  • Fixed display issues for some quest items after loading a save.
  • Added a new sound effect for the bandit's bear summon.
  • Added a visual effect for Nochnitsa transitioning to physical form.
  • Added visual effects for Nightmares appearance and their transitions between ghostly and physical states.
  • The "firefly" visual effect on Nightmares now correctly disappears immediately upon death.
  • Improved running animations for Wolves and Alpha Volkodlaks.
  • Autosave now occurs at 21:55 in-game time.
  • Fixed incorrect display of some icons.
  • Fixed the "Witcher" achievement.
  • Fixed the "Advanced Level" achievement (now correctly granted before the 4th day of summer).
  • Fixed a bug where warriors could stop attacking.
  • Fixed a bug where mages could damage allies when using skills.
  • Fixed a bug that reset camera speed to 0 when reopening the settings window.
  • Fixed duplicate visual effects on warriors after loading a save, which caused excessive visual stacking.
  • Fixed a bug where enemy lairs could be seen through the fog of war.
  • Fixed several bugs with the resource counter.
  • Fixed issues with the display of certain menus.
  • Various localization improvements.

A few minor collision issues have been resolved to keep the world flowing seamlessly as you explore.

Improved Camera Visibility Through Player Model:

Fixed an issue where your character model could obstruct the camera's view, especially in tight spaces or when the camera moved close to the model. Visibility through' or 'around' the character in such situations is now significantly improved (e.g., the model might become semi-transparent, or the camera will navigate more intelligently around the obstruction).

In the newest Car-mong Us update, you'll find:

  • hand-picked player made levels
  • little secrets and silly dialogue


    (Horrifying worm-like level we came across in our player-level hunt! This is apparently what happens when you give players free will)

    ⚒ CHANGES & FIXES ⚒

    Changed the "DAILY LEVEL" to show hand-picked player made levels! So now YOUR level might get featured as the daily level!

    Yes, this does mean the previous levels there are removed from the game & the Ghost Car... Let us know in the comments what you think of this change! Also also, definitely share your levels here or on Discord in #car-share-your-level and we might consider them for the roster!!!

    ● Fixed some crowns not displaying properly on UGC levels that had been won
    ● Adjusted the length of leaderboards to only show top 100 on all tabs
    ● Fixed a bug that would cause the sasquatch to float away from the car when sitting

    Try to challenge yourself by completing enough levels to get elusive 🌈rainbow skin🌈. Why pick ONE color for CAR when you can be ALL of them!
