Hello again, I have decided to revert the "remove the Strategic Resources" change and they have been re-enabled. Most of the resource capacity changes are still there, but some of the projects have been returned to their former selves. This change was made in order to make things a little easier to manage, as well as to reduce the AI's stupidity.

Changelog:

  • Re-added Strategic Resources

  • Removed Energy Capacity, Nanocomposites Capacity, Chromite Capacity

  • Any project which used previous capacities has been returned to its former self

  • AI Value and weight adjustments

  • Project upkeeps rebalanced

💬 Why this decision?
Our main motivation has always been to see the game being played, enjoyed, and shared by as many people as possible. The Day Of Survival is a passion project, and there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing it come to life in the hands of the community.

We want to build something real, shaped by your feedback. Making the game free is our way of opening the doors so more players can jump in, give their opinions, and be part of the project’s evolution.

From now on:

  • Free access to all future updates and improvements.

  • The community can contribute with ideas, suggestions, and even content!

💡 What about the future?

This new build of TAAM: DYW fixes a few bugs and updates the call-to-action at end of game to purchase the next game of TAAM: BTT (as opposed to wishlisting the next game, which was the previous call-to-action).

This is mostly a bugfix update correcting issues reported since the Milestone update, as well as a few nice QOL things particularly for postgame players. We're working on more Big Cool Things in the background... :) (Note: Mac build will be updating roughly 12 hours after PC)

✨New Stuff
  • Improved challenge mode pause and resume!

    • When pausing a post-game challenge (Tower Tourney, Draft Challenge, Mountain Expedition), instead of quitting to the title, you return to the game overworld and can go explore / play online matches / do whatever you want

    • You can resume the challenge where you left off anytime by returning to the corresponding character

    • This makes starting challenges way less of a commitment

    • This is an expansion of the implementation that already existed for Tower Tourney and Draft Challenge. Most notably, all of the above is newly added to Mountain Expeditions, so you can now pause and resume those mid-run as well!

  • Super Tower Tourney difficulty select

    • When starting a new run, if you've previously had a long streak, you can choose to start at higher difficulty levels thus "skipping" the easier challenge of early rounds.

    • This does not actually advance your streak counter, so it's purely an optional challenge with no advantage towards setting a new record.

  • Added the ability to sort the Beastiepedia and Team Reserves by whether a given Beastie can metamorph or not

🚧Other Fixes and Changes
  • Resized some gui elements and changed some render order so that key info is not obscured when navigating UI during a sports match in Detail View

  • Fixed the new issue with Riven's display name after localization was added

  • Fixed an issue where Thriller didn't trigger Noizard's recruit condition

  • Fixed an issue where the top of tall hats would be cut off on the player render

  • Fixed a layering issue with hands when a player with Vibe 05 is holding a phone

  • Fixed text spacing on post-game results cards, particularly in Russian

  • Fixed some crashing issues from frame-perfect pauses/replays at the same time as a cutscene trigger

  • Improved text language detection and rendering for names in the credits of various languages

  • Improved the auto-nickname feature for downloaded Beasties such that Beastie specie names now won't be substituted in place of a custom nickname

  • Made it impossible to receive a phone call while viewing replays/in an online match/in matchmaking

  • Made a change such that when viewing a replay, the "match end" music never plays; this makes it so that you can freely scrub forward and back even after viewing the end of a match without interrupting the BGM.

  • Fixed an issue where downloading corrupted away team data prevented future away teams from appearing

  • Added a fallback wherein Craig will unlock the Beastiepedia if you interact with him and have skipped obtaining it somehow (speedrunners....)

  • Fixed a couple more edge cases with bad save/load locations around Jack in some areas

  • Fixed an issue with certain secret Team Titles not appearing in the list of options after discovering them

  • The previous patch was uploaded using the wrong engine runtime, which meant there were a few previously fixed memory-related crashes that were mistakenly re-introduced. This has been corrected, so "random" crashing should happen a lot less often now.

  • Fixed various obscure crashes

  • Fixed misc. typos
