Future of Conquest

Hey Everyone,

Greatly sorry for the radio silence lately. We've kept silent as we've been trying to find a publisher to get Conquest out of Early Access and we didn't want to talk about anything until the deal was done. Unfortunately, after months of back and forth it is clear that the deal is not happening and Kihon is going to have to close shop. The bottom line is we aren't making money and we don't have the marketing capital or runway to turn things around.

We are devastated to say the least. We've spent over two years & a great deal of personal funds to get to this point and to not even see it launch is heartbreaking. We love this game and the community and do not want to give up. And so we wont! We've worked out a deal with our investors to allow the founders to keep ownership of the IP. We are working through the legal paperwork now.

What does this mean for the game? Well, once we have ownership we are going to migrate the server over to a cheaper solution since we will not be doing a massive campaign. The goal here is that it will allow us to keep the servers up for the long haul and we can attempt to grow the game via word of mouth and PR rather than a marketing campaign. We can push to launch on steam, we have the first expansion ready to launch, and we have the mobile build ready to launch. We just need to get our overhead a bit lower first by migrating the server.

We'll need significant downtime to do this as we are no longer able to work on this full time. It is more of a passion project at this point. I'll post more as we get into the thick of it. Once we have it switched over we can talk launch and expansion.

Thank you guys so much for taking interest in the title. You've been a huge support and while the path hasn't been what we had hoped we still hope to deliver a great game with a long future.

Conquest of Champions is the perfect blend of Collectible Card Games and deep turn-based tactical strategy that only the creators of PoxNora could deliver. Think 'Magic the Gathering' meets 'Warhammer' or Chess.

Build your personal deck strategy and bring your cards to life by summoning fully animated creatures, casting devastating spells, and equipping powerful weapons all within battlegrounds that are reminiscent of tabletop miniature warfare.


You can choose to complete an entire match in real-time or you can take turns asynchronously and complete matches that extend over several days.

Conquest offers both PvP and single player options. In PvP you can challenge your friends or climb the leaderboards & compete in tournaments by battling ranked opponents. Currently our single player options are just practice battles but our development roadmap includes full campaigns and boss battles.

Free to Play

Conquest is free-to-play in that you are given a free Hero and starter deck when you register and then can unlock the other two factions at level 3 and level 6. You will earn additional cards, components (used in crafting), gold, and experience just by taking ranked turns and completing matches and quests. Everything in the game can be earned. As you play you will be able to expand and customize your deck with the cards you unlock.

For those who do not want to wait, we offer a couple DLC bundles which allow you to acquire Hero decks at a bulk discount. The 'Starter' includes one hero from each faction for the price of two heroes. The 'Mega-Hero' includes every Hero in our release set and first expansion (this assumes you get to level 6 for the starter ones).


* 3 game modes: Single Player Campaign, Asynchronous PVP, or Real Time PVP.

* Customize unique decks with over 200 cards (new expansions every 3-4 months).
* 3 Factions to choose from: Stonehold (Dwarves, Constructs, and Barbarians), Briarwood (Elves, Beasts, Fibians, and Treefolk), and Embercult (Demons, Undead, and Dragonkin)
* Each soldier has unique attributes and up to two special abilities such as ‘Double Attack’ or ‘Chain Lightning’.
* Earn experience, gold, components, and cards by taking turns in ranked matches or completing friendly matches.
* Global ranking system - play ranked games to climb the leaderboard.
* Make cards more powerful by fusing them together.
* Craft exotic rare cards by completing sets of components earned through gameplay.
* Daily Quests and Achievements
* Regular Tournaments scheduled seasonally
* Exchange strategies with your friends via the lobby chat.
* Cross-Platform play! Mac/PC and coming soon for iOS and Android tablets and mobile devices!
* 3 Unique Map Backgrounds (Mountains, Forest, Caverns), each with multiple map layout variations.

Early Access

We are excited to open the doors to the beta to give a sneak peek at what is coming with Conquest. While the game is very much playable we have a great deal of features to add. Some of which include:

- Expansion Content: We will be releasing regular expansions to add additional depth and strategy to the game.
- Auction House / Trader
- Tablet Build: With cross-platform support.
- Guilds
- Automated Tournaments: Round Robin, Draft, etc
- Spectator Mode / Replays: Ability to watch others play. This was highly demanded during our first tournament and we can't wait to get it in.

Overall, a very fun game. I constantly find myself getting sucked in for "just one more turn". Only downside is, if you aren't going to pay-to-win (which I won't), unlocking card packs takes a rather long time, especially considering you only end up with 7 cards. Despite that, a very awesome game, and I highly recommend it.

Game has a great tactics system backed up with deck building. Themed approach to deck building which is a great thought out process by the development team. Simple startup and go with minimal learning curve. The ability to redo turns felt slightly cheaty in the beginning but actually "taught" me more of the indepth decision making moving and casting and positiong can do to help your summoned army win.

Only real con is that player base seems kinda small. Main reason for writing the post is to encourage players that enjoy TCG and Tactics games to give this one a go.

It's unique, and fun. Plus the "hotseat" style of turn-based play allows you to play on and off at your leisure.

People who boost their decks through real cash have the advantage/upper hand against those who don't. Why is that, you ask? Because the match-making system pairs newcomers (with only their starter decks) against these sharkers. If you think it's "fun" or "challenging" to play against someone who has 40+ arsenal of devastating cards while you've only got a starter deck, then by all means play the game and enjoy in this sadomasochistic merry-go-round. The game has potential, so it's kinda sad to see that pay-2-win and an unfair matchmaking system (there are almost always around ~200 players online, so I don't see why shouldn't a newbie be matched with a newbie) makes it a title to stay clear of... at least until (and if) these issues are adressed properly (alongside the ridiculous paywall for the new heroes.)

Great game, it's extremely polished, especially for an Early Access game. Yes, there are glaring bugs that do get annoying, but don't let that stop you from jumping in and having fun.
I have actually never played a CCG that was LESS pay to win. Let me repeat that, this game is absolutely NOT pay to win and those that have stated it is...I'm honestly not sure what they could be talking about. In the time I've played, already I've crafted all but four of the "Exotic" cards that can be crafted. After 200 matches, I've not gotten every card I've wanted, but I'd say 90% of the current release is sitting in my library.
The interface, is very tablet-centric, and I do not like that, however, due to feedback, it seems the next patch will make the interface less tablet focused and be more appealing to the PC gamer.
