Screencheat is a split-screen multiplayer FPS where everyone is invisible and you have to cheat to win. Remember when looking at your friends’ screen in Goldeneye was frowned upon? Well those days are gone and in Screencheat, we encourage it!

Screencheat World Championships at PAX Australia

Hey Screencheaters!

A quick update as we inch closer to the October 21 release of Screencheat. Some of you may already know that we were selected to be featured at PAX Australia as part of their Australian Indie Showcase, which means all attendees will get the chance to go head to head on the show floor. A friend of ours got wind of our plans, and has made a very special announcement.....

That's right, Donnie "Teh Butcher" Bishop has decided to come out of retirement, crowning himself the world champion of Screencheat. After all of his gloating on Twitter, we asked Donnie if he would be willing to defend his championship status at PAX Australia, to which he modestly replied "those fools don't stand a chance!"

Think you have what it takes to beat the champ? Tweet a challenge message with the #DESTROYDONNIE hashtag and we'll reply if your challenge has been accepted. Then head along to the Screencheat booth (AIS #4) at 2:00pm on the day to go head to head with the champ and win some swag.

Sessions with Donnie will run for one hour, but there are plenty of other opportunities to win prizes. Swing by the booth to challenge the devs on the hour, every hour to challenge the devs directly, and of course there will be heaps of time to just freeplay with your friends.

To stay updated with our movements during the show, make sure you follow Screencheat on Twitter and Surprise Attack Games!

Only six days until release! Exciting times ahead!

Murder Mystery Update is out today!

Hello screencheaters!

This week we've got a major update for everyone who has pre-ordered the game! Known as the Murder Mystery update, Samurai Punk has packed in a gigantic new map called Manor, and a brand new mode called Murder Mystery. We made a video to show you how the new mode works, so check it out:

We find that Murder Mystery forces you to stop spanning, screencheat more, and will have you tracking your foes down in an intense game of cat and mouse. Of course, we'd love to hear your feedback, so head over to this discussion

We are also setting up several developer play sessions leading up to the October 21st release. We're making event reminders on Steam, but below is the current schedule:

Mondays at 7:00pm PDT

Wednesdays at 7:00pm PDT

Tuesdays at 7:00pm AEST

Thursdays at 7:00pm AEST

Hopefully we'll see you online! Feel free to record the sessions, because if you manage to beat Samurai Nick in battle, that's quite an achievement!

So now it's heads down on hitting our release date. We're happy to report that we are feature complete, and all that remains is polish and minor bug fixes before we unveil version 1.0. You guys can expect two new weapons, a new map, and a new mode when the game launches!

Thanks again to all of your support! Have fun, and we'll see you online - Steve

“Screencheat is a game blessed with a completely unique and ingenius idea”

“Easy going in tone but frantic and stressful by nature, Screencheat seizes on a single novel idea and builds an enjoyable couch shooter around it.”

O tej grze

Screencheat is a chaotic split-screen multiplayer shooter that forces players to rethink the way they approach conventional multiplayer games. In the Screencheat arena, fast reaction times aren’t enough to keep you alive. When everyone is invisible, players will have to master the art of taking a not-so sneaky look at their opponent’s screens and working out where they are based on uniquely coloured areas of the map and distinctive landmarks.

Screencheat pays homage to iconic competitive first-person shooters such as Goldeneye, Perfect Dark and Halo, by blending the elements everyone loves about those games and shaking it up with its own unique take on the genre. When everyone’s used to playing by the rules, can you adapt to unconventional gaming quick enough to get the upper hand?

Final Features

• Eight unique weapons – You won’t find any iron sights here, just weapons of chaos like the Blunderbuss, grenade launcher and the Chefolet pulse cannon.
• Five colourful maps – Each map in Screencheat has been handcrafted to feature distinctive areas and landmarks to help you hunt down your opponents.
• Four player split-screen local multiplayer, or four player split-screen online multiplayer
• Controller support
• Steam achievements + Trading Cards
• May or may not be Lance Armstrong’s favourite game

It's alot of good fun, I use to screencheat alot at halo and this brings back the good ol'e days of splitscreen gaming.. I don't get the chance to play many splitscreen games anymore, my friends have got kids now and such.. But playing online it's still splitscreen so it still has that "local" splitscreen feel to it, probably even more so when you get mics on and get a few beers in with some online buddies :)

You can also incorperate local and online mp, so you could have you and your friend sitting next to you, while playing 4 player splitscreen with 2 more players over the internet!

It's a very interesting concept and the weapons have a nice feel to them like you would want in an FPS game, movement is fast paced, guns feel solid and engaging and generally it's just alot of fun and a very unique way of bringing back splitscreen gaming era

An enjoyable game for those who think CoD matches are too slow.

Screencheat requires you to be on the move constantly whereas games like CoD, BF, and the likes all have their campers. In this game, other players can see exactly where you are(at least from your/their point of view) so camping is useless since they can see what you are seeing and kill you from behind. Because of that, you have to be moving non-stop while also glancing at the other three screens to see where the opponents are. It's a lot harder than it sounds because glancing at the other screens is a near requirement to survive however the intensity of the game makes it hard for one to glance away from your little quadrant on the screen. The maps are quite small so there is little to no moments for reprieve during a match lest you be blown away by a well aimed grenade. Certain map functions like air vents increase your mobility and allows you to do sneak attacks but be prepared to be shot out of the air due to the predictability of the air vents.

There are only two gamemodes at this time: A free for all Deathmatch and a King of the Hill match. A King of the Hill match is basically camping(if you can even call it that) at a specific location to gather points while waiting for the inevitable death to claim you in the form of a blunderbuss or a grenade. Deathmatch currently only supporst to 10 points per game so a player has to get to 10 kills max.

Currently, there are two maps available. The first is a Museum map with a huge fossil in the middle. There is a ramp that leads to the top, an elevator that leads you to the top floor, and an air vent that drags you to the floor below it. It's quite easy to score points on this map (IMO) because the ramp makes enemy movements extremely predictable. The second map is a garden with air vents on the bottom of the floor that can boost you to around the middle of the map or even farther. The map is slightly symmetrical in it's shape and is a lot harder to get kills on(for me at least). One positive note about this map is that in a 4 player server or 2 player server, the map's color changes so you can easily locate the enemy. In a two player server, one half of the map is blue while the other is red. In a 4 player server, the map is split into quadrants with a different color in each. Despite this, I still failed at this map compared to the Museum :p

A small thing to note is the kill feed which is EXTREMELY satisfying. More often than not, it gives a small line at the top of the screen that says "_____ creamed ____" or something that basically says that you got owned. A few times, the entire screen would be filled with the text in CAPS basically rubbing it into your face that you were killed or that you killed someone. It's hilarious but causes you to screw up because you can't see where you're going and you cam be killed by another player in the few short seconds the message stays on the screen. But it is satisfying XD

4 players, every one invisible. Screencheating is the only way to win. Really fun, highly recommended. Plus the best kill messages by far in any game.
