Recomendações de Curadores

"A great FPS that forces you to ScreenCheat and that only increases the fun on the game, but don't screencheat to much because everyone else see you too."

Samurai Punk at PAX Prime

Hi Everyone!
Our team's flying out today for the glorious land of freedom to attend PAX Prime and exhibit Screencheat. If you're attening the event our booth is #6805 and will be marked on the map as Samurai Punk.
We're also going to be selling discounted copies of the game, t-shirts and pins so if you want in on that action come on by!

But I'm not attending, what does this mean for me?
Our development streams will be on hiatus until we return in early september.
Since we'll be out of the country and away from the office we won't be able to address any serious issues that arise so please stay calm if anything totally breaks.

Stay Updated!
Keep up with everything during the event by following us on Twitter or Facebook.

Much Love,
Samurai Punk,

2.1.7 Patch - XInput and Custom Controllers

Hi everyone!

We’ve added XInput support (enabled by default) which will now allow for rumble on XInput devices and should support more controllers out of the box. This will also fix the issues with Xbox One controllers on Windows 10.
Players who used custom controller bindings will need to disable XInput in the game settings menu, as they are not supported by XInput. Please let us know if you guys have any issues going forward with controllers or binding.

Also, we’d like to apologise for the frequency of patches recently and for accidentally giving, then removing, the Deluxe Edition DLC from users who did not own it previously. This was due to a mistake we made and should now be resolved. Users who own the Deluxe Edition should still have the soundtrack so let us know if you don’t see it.

As thanks to everyone who has put up with our $#*& over the last week, we’ve made you a cool new Revolver Rifle skin!

We really appreciate your continued support and feedback on the game. You’ve all been incredibly helpful in helping us to improve the game and give you the best possible experience. Thank you! :)

Bugfixes and Improvements (Including 2.1.6 hotfixes)

  • Controller rumble added to all weapons and to certain player actions. If you don’t enjoy the rumble, you can disable it by turning off Screen Shake in the game options. (There’ll be a separate option in a future patch.)
  • Xbox One controllers now use XInput and will not drift to the left in menus on Windows 10. Note that this drifting will reoccur if you disable XInput.
  • Fixed an issue where the game would sometimes slow down or crash after startup
  • Fixed an issue where training dummies would spawn at strange angles on some maps
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when a player left during during game start or restart. This showed as all players seeing the preview camera overlaid with the in game GUI.
  • Fixed an issue where Windows 10 users weren’t loading their profiles from the Steam Cloud, or having any other Steam functionality. This may have made some players think they had lost their profiles, but no such loss occurred.
  • Steam Achievements now appear in the Steam Overlay immediately upon unlocking them.

Known Issues:
  • Xbox One controllers in XInput mode show Xbox 360 style controller button icons

Much Love,
Samurai Punk

“Screencheat is the Mario Kart of first person shooters and I absolutely mean that as a compliment”
Kotaku

“Easy going in tone but frantic and stressful by nature, Screencheat seizes on a single novel idea and builds an enjoyable couch shooter around it.”
7.8 – PC Gamer

“Glancing at someone else’s screen and knowing exactly where they are would be nigh-on impossible in most shooters, but Samurai Punk combats this through some smart level design.”

Acerca deste jogo

Screencheat is a ridiculous competitive split-screen first-person shooter where everyone is invisible, so players are forced to look at each other’s screens in order to win. Supporting both local and online multiplayer, combat in Screencheat is fast and furious with a wide variety of one-hit kill weapons ranging from traditional guns like the blunderbuss or grenade launcher through to unique options such as a hobby horse, a modified car engine that shoots bouncing plasma balls and a teddy bear loaded with explosives.

Ranging from the dependable Blunderbuss to the heroic Hobby Horse to the completely crazy Chefolet; a car engine that fires ricocheting energy balls, all are designed to deliver deadly satisfaction. Each weapon comes with its own unique advantages and disadvantages, encouraging wildly different play styles. These include not only the way a weapon shoots but also the 'tells' the weapon leaves such as the smoke from the blunderbuss or the trail of fire behind the Hobby Horse.

From traditional favourites such as Deathmatch to the completely unique Murder Mystery that challenges you to find and frag your specific target with a specific weapon. Play in teams or all against all. Challenge up to seven of your mates on the couch or online or a combination of both, the game is always split screen whether you are on or offline.

In the spirit of the best arena shooters you’ll spend time traversing 10 maps via air vents and trampolines until you’ve acquired your target and fragged them accordingly. Each map is designed with colour-coded areas as well as plentiful landmarks such as statues, paintings and furniture that allow you to quickly locate other players without being able to actually see them.

Inspired by games like Towerfall we've provided players with a highly granular level of customisation to play the game the way they want to. Choose which weapons you'll allow, how and when they can be swapped or reloaded, apply time limits, adjust the victory conditions, penalties and more. To really mix it up stack on some Mutators such as slow mode, low gravity or flappy jump.

Bought this game from HumbleBundle.com when a four-pack was on sale for $10. I gave three copies to friends, and we started playing. As a long time accused screen cheater (though I maintain that I am not,) I found this game to be very enjoyable. It's a lot of stupid fun if you just want to play with a few close friends while on Skype or something, but I wouldn't recommend this to any hardcore CoD or CSGO try-hards that will end up throwing their PCs across the room because of a glitch that cause them to die; the game has glitches, most fun. Get it if you want a stupid, fun time with friends.

Possibly the most entertaining multiplayer First Person Shooter out there.

Focus is on couch mulitplayer over online, but this game offers both, and you can even play "couch and online" together. The developers are constantly tweaking and improving the game, and are very responsive to feedback too. So if you are looking for something off the beaten path, this game is it.

Below you'll find a written and video impression on the game.

Remember back in the day, when people played multiplayer FPS on the same screen locally and on split screen? Remember how there's always that one person who's looking at your screen to find where you are? Well Screencheat is made for that one person! Except this time around, the game promotes each player to screen cheat and every one is on equal grounds!

The gimmick behind Screencheat is that every player is invisible with only each other's screen as indicators to where s/he might be. As a player, you must manage your own screen so you know where you're going and shooting, while paying attention to every one elses, so you know where to aim. It's a very simple idea that's executed very well.

Graphically the game isn't much to look at. It's more functional than it is pretty. Luckily for most, this is not the type of game that people will care too much about the aesthetics, rather the mechanics. As mentioned above, mechanically this game pulls off it's goal with success. It is a pretty basic FPS when you strip away the multiscreen / invisible player gimmick, but in a game like this, simplicity is probably for the best.

The game is very fun, especially if you have a soft spot for old time local play FPS feel, even if it does support online as well as local. It's nothing too special to look at, but it is something special to play with friends!

Pros:
- Frantic micro-management of multiple screens
- Very interesting concept
- Easy to understand and jump into

Cons:
- Aesthetics are some what weak
- Might be too mechanically simple for some
