Huge Multiplayer patch out!

Hello guys!!

We have been working hard on the multiplayer for the past few weeks and also fixed all the bugs reported in the bug topic, here are the notes! Kudos!

patch notes 1.2.4.8 (newest)

CLASSES
- Odin's Fury Fixed
- Shockwave and Seismic Slam graphics enhanced
- Marksman turret projectiles now destroy when hit a wall
- Pyro Hydra projectiles also now destroy when hit a wall
- Pyro's spells now have impact sounds

GENERAL
- You can no longer fly thru into the treasure fort.
- If you save & exit after killing a boss, you now instantly go into the next zone
after you continue.
- Projectiles which destroy them self on impact now dont activate the "invicibility frame"
nor cares if its on, these projectiles will always deal damage to enemies and to players
- Treasure fort relic now warps under the player so it can be switched.
- Hats dissapearing in Dungeons fixed.
- Removed "King's Path" and replaced it with "King's Garden".
- Removed "The Garden" and replaced it with "Pumpkin Patch".

RELICS
- Ankh crashing on Player 2 fixed.

ENEMIES
- Skeleton Mages now cast various spells.

CO-OP
- RELIC - Rainbow Drool now works for both players.
- RELIC - Duck now works for both players.
- RELIC - Scythe now works for both players.


MULTIPLAYER
- Enemies now react to Obelisks
- Player now always starts with full HP and keeps his HP.
- Hayro boss fireballs now sync with clients.
- Fixed various bugs and crashes that were reported.
- Fixed Pyromancer Blazing Trail bugging
- Pyro's spells coming from the host also fixed
- Players and Dead flags are now removed from games when player crashes or leaves, no more "ACT 1 Vikings"
- Skeleton Archer projectiles now sync with clients
- Fixed game telling that no internet connection and going to windowed mode
- Bekanthamun Tornado crashing game fixed
- Added (x / 4) player indicator into the server list.
- Picking up a potion or a relic now stops the player ghost.
- Added a REMEMBER ME button that saves your login name.
For security reasons the game won't save your password.
- Added mind bubbles that indicate wether a player is browsing his/her talents or writing
in the chat.
- Improved the drawing of name and future clan tags
- THE EYE Boss projectiles now synced with clients.
- Optimized player position package sending to 60 ticks per second.
- Dungeon Enemies now synced with clients
- Passive enemies no longer move when juggernaut active.
- Hex effects now shows on all players
- Players no longer spawn with reduced health

这个游戏其实最初玩儿的是手机版的,实际上内容完全一样。甚至手机版还有付费的双倍经验双倍金钱选项。如果说只是想体验一下的话,最好先试一下手机版是否喜欢。本人算是这个游戏的粉丝,与以撒以及其他游戏(比如说雨中冒险)相比,这个价格其实是比较良心的,并且内容也很丰富。但因为玩儿这个游戏的人比较少,或是说,和手机版一样的内容比较没有新意而致使在steam上比较不受关注,这个游戏一直是不温不火。DLC提供的联机体验也因为小众化的原因差强人意。
值得一提的是游戏的开发者比较上心,这个游戏是我库中更新频率仅次于DOTA2的,也可见开发者的诚意。
如果是双摇杆射击小游戏的发烧友的话,我强烈推荐这款游戏,但是又因此游戏并不是很好上手(练到25级以上才能感受到这个游戏的乐趣和快感),请不要游戏不足2小时就妄下结论!

I'd give this game a 9/10:

Overall this game is really fun to play. It's not too easy and has a frustration factor, but the gameplay is good enough to keep you entertained.


You pick your hero and run around the arena killing monsters, which come in 6 waves per stage, the 6th one being a big boss. Some monsters have certain enhancements or special abilities and there are champion versions.

If you keep going you will find relics granting you special abilities to help you out as well as keys that open chests where you get gold to buy stuff or potions or crystals which can be used to unlock stuff.

Sometimes, bigger versions of monsters will drop a bomb or a circling laser thing or a bomb after they die to finish you off when you least expect it. That's annoying sometimes.

You have to avoid certain traps (or use them to your advantage against monsters), for example spike traps or arrow turrets. Sometimes they can be hidden behind a tree or something, so you have to be aware of your surroundings.

There are multiple classes, from swordfighters to rangers to magic types.
You level up by killing monsters and upgrade your skills and your stats (Attack, attack speed, defense, health).

The controls are good with a 360 controller, you can move in any direction while attacking in any other direction you want (only 90° angles though). I have not tried keyboard controls.

There are multiple difficulties and areas, but you have to unlock them first.

Most of the passive skills seem a bit useless at first, it takes quite a few skill points for them to be really useful, while the active skills seem a lot more viable.

For online multiplayer you have to register with some service, but theres also local multiplayer for 2 players, haven't tried that yet, however.

The game crashed twice on me so far, but I was able to pick up where I left off when restarting the game.

I bought this when there were just a few classes, no runes, and the game looked hella old. Now, there are a few more classes, the game looks INCREDIBLE, and it's all a very solid experience. Each class is unique , making you adapt a new style of play for each and every one. The enemies are challanging , but not too challanging. The dungeons can be randomly be impossible to beat depending on your class, but that's no biggie. They are CONSTANTLY updating the game and making it better . I play this occasionaly , and nearly every time I log on there is something new or it looks just a little bit better. I highly recommend getting this. It's a nice game to kill some time (while waiting for queues in WoW) , or it can become challanging and intense if you choose to push forward to later levels.

8/10 , solid.

With the overwhelming amount of positive reviews and the game being marketed as "[...] one of the most loved indie hack n slash games with roguelike elements! Join the fun now!!" I did indeed expect to have fun.

But fun was not had. This is a plain twin stick shooter masked as a hack n slash. Acts are also promised, but is rather a randomized arena where waves of enemies spawn. That was another letdown because I expected a randomized map as in a place where the outer edges shift in shape instead of a simple square. Though to be fair, there's dungeons. However I never had the chance to enter one before I lost interest.

Third letdown was the combat. I always play melee whenever I have the choice and the little I did that in this game consisted of pointing the left stick away from the monsters and the right stick towards them, occasionally pressing it whenever a skill had cooled down.

All in all this game feels like it would fare better as a newly released early access game. Since it is not I just can't find a reason to recommend this game.

Hero Siege is a game heavily inspired by Diablo and others. You play as one of many classes and beat waves after waves of Enemies until you finish the game. There are relics which increase some of your powers, various temporary items which are lost upon death which give stats or skills, statues that increase your stats permanently and potions with temporary buffs/debuffs. The game tends to be fun, however it takes time to get used to controls and the chaos going on. It depends a lot on luck and lucky generation of items, or else you're going to die for sure and restart all over again. Once you get a hang of it, it becomes fun but a bit boring as you're so strong it's no longer a challenge. Be wary after finishing a game on one difficulty you restart with no items on the next diff.

>Pros: Fun, lots of randomization, lots of items, good if you're a fan of rogue-likes and Diablo clones, graphics are neat.
>Cons: Campaign acts which will come out in the future are all PAID DLC, bugs are pretty common(achievements don't unlock, characters get corrupted etc), too much randomization causes some areas to be unaccessible, some characters are simply useless and aren't strong enough(balancing issues), balancing issues with items, also dislike the concept of not only having a DLC but an even more expensive "Collector's Edition". (DLC with acts and rest of the game should be free, collector's edition should be the purchase to support the developer rather than having it all paid for)

Its fun and all, however clarity is a major issue. Half of the time, your death will leave you thinking "wtf just killed me". It takes a while to get used to the amount of objects on screen.

buy it, the gameplay is ok for now, but the developers are updating this game constantly so all the gameplay is constantly getting better

there are many bugs but the developers are killing them with updates

I really wanted to like this game, but it just falls short in so many areas that I just cannot recommend it. There were times when I was playing it and had to wonder if the developers ever played the singleplayer of their own game. It's simply unfair to any of the melee classes. You are pretty much required to get the starting item then play and die 10s of times to get to a high enough level to deal with most of the bosses who will simply rush and outright kill you. It had/still has some potential I guess, but they would need to do an overhaul.
On another note I was hoping the "Coming soon!" characters and levels would be normal update, but then it turns out to be DLC that is half the cost of the game. This simply annoyed me as it felt I had to pay to get the rest of the game I already bought.

Edit: There is a possibility I am just REALLY bad at the game, but I don't see it that way. I've beaten the game a couple times and I found the game started stupid hard then got exponencialy easier as you played a character. I am also fairly good at topdown rougelike games as well, eg Binding of Isaac.

Hero Siege is probably the best value I've gotten for my money in a long time. It is a simple enough game, a rogue-like with a number of interesting classes to choose from each with their own skill tree for you to customize them with. Each level is a large (several screens worth) rectangular arena filled with randomly positioned traps and decorations. After the player spawns the monsters begin to spawn in waves entering from the four doors at the center of each edge. There is a short delay between waves which can be cut short with a button press. After defeating enough waves you get to fight a boss. During the waves other things can spawn such as chests or one level (and extremely lethal) side dungeons. Keep going until you die.

Once dead you can restart from the beginning retaining your level. The draw comes from being able to get just a little further each time and seeing what relics you uncover to power up your character and the radical ways they can change how you play. The simple nature of the gameplay and the reasonably attractive graphics make it wasy to loose track of time while playing.

Fun game to drop in and play here and there. Killing time or just want something simple to play. This is the way to do it, and the price is right for it too.

The game is still getting new stuff added. Some features may not be that great but you can see the potencial of things to come with future up dates.

Hero Siege's pixelated graphics may repel many players, but this game is AMAZING!!!! When I discovered this gem I instantly was hooked! It has an equal amount of difficulty and skill making it a 10/10 MUST BUY at its VERY low price. I absolutely recommend this game.

At first, I just bought this game because it was on halloween sale for about 1 buck. and trading cards :v
First, you chose a class for your character, for me it's pirate. Then, you go to the game. Your character started with nothing. This can be pretty hard in the beginning until you level up a bit. The game divided into 6 waves each stage. After you cleared a wave, you got 30 seconds to prepare yourself. You can go to the dungeon and shop in this time. The shop and dungeon randomly generated on the map each time you cleared a stage. A shop requires silver key to open. When you died in the game, you can resume the game on the same wave with reduced HP. The key to clear this game is collecting the relics. The relics greatly boost your stats or give unique special effects, thus it's very important to get these relics. Relics can be obtained from chest (crystal chest has the higest chance to drop relics), clearing a stage, dungeon drop or from shop (usually obtainable for 1000 coins). Each time you level up, you get 2 stats point and a skill point. The objective of this game is to pass until the final wave. On the end of a stage (each 6 waves) you will face special bosses. Boss has special skills that will conduct after a specific time. Beating a boss is pretty easy if you have some relics with you.

Pros :
  • Great music
  • Crisp pixel graphic
  • 8 classes to choose
  • Variative skills and relic's effects
  • Diffrent difficulty to choose

Cons :
  • Online mode requires DLC to play
  • Game turned out pretty easy after you collect the relics
  • Costumes are a bit hard to collect and some requires DLC to obtain

    I still reccomend this game even at it's full price.

The game is overall quite entertaining, but let me point out a few flaws:

The boss system is a little funky, sometimes you will get a boss that you just smash all of your ability keys and will die before it can use its special ability, but other times they will just completely mess you up. and there is ONE boss that i can not beat, no matter how hard i try, its just COMPLETELY broken, dead within seconds.

You can also die SUDDENLY without even knowing. you can be in a crowd of dudes just slashing and allova sudden BAMN you get hit with some sort of attack that is way overpowered.

and a HEADS UP: you have to pay 3 dollars for multiplayer. thanks, EA

Very fun. Recommend you play with controller: Easier controls-more sensitive-faster change in shot direction. Very good game. Good challenge level. Fun for all!

This is a nice casual past-time, looks like a top-down shooter, but you are confined to a single area and have to fight waves of enemies in order to progress. The game has easy controls that can be mapped, with seperate keys for movement, and another set for shooting (in all directions) so you can for example walk to the left but shoot to the right or downwards. You also can use a couple of specials which are unique per character. These are unlocked as you progress character level. When you die, you keep the character level. This works like in Rogue Legacy and other similar games.

The downside of this system is, that for a long while you have to be grinding without making any significant progress. I had to level up my character to around level 18 before I could get past the second boss, ie. wave 12. But after that things went a bit faster. The enemy damage scales with your character level, but the enemies do not. So you can steamroll a couple of levels later on, as long as you avoind being hit.

I can recommend the game for a quick in-between, but the grind can be a bit frustrating at times. :6.5/10:
