Overall a Good game, not Great but also not Terrible.
In similar Beat-Matching games you press buttons to the beat of the song. However, Kickbeat has you pressing buttons along with the beat and in-between the beat, which makes the game much more difficult, and is the reason most people do not like the game. At the highest difficulty level (Master) there are also button presses linked to the vocals, which turns the game into button mashing madness.
The game has 24 songs, a mix of hip-hop and rock, and 4 difficulty levels to choose from. You start out with one character in the story mode, but can unlock 6 more, and multiple costumes for each, thru game play.
The weakest part of the game is the Beat Your Music mode which lets you play using mp3s on your pc. The game does not automatically synch to the beat of the song, so you must use the included BPS (beats per second) counter to tap out the beat. This becomes tedious very quickly and no matter how much you tweak it the enemies and the beat always seems slightly out of synch.
