Great software for making 2D games.
- Easy drag and drop for most mario/megaman-esq games
- "Almost" no programming needed, if you want proper dialog you'll find yourself editing strings and variables, but I'm not marking that as a con since they are incredibly easy to learn.
-Loads quickly on lower end specs (Tested on an i3 with integrated graphics)
-MANY helpful examples out there. "Nivram" 'Nuff said.
-Not sure what the other reviewer was talking about, but there is plenty of stock objects to test things out with under local library.
-Is still used to make MANY great games.
-Examples aside, I find it time consuming for the most part when searching for solutions. In particular when it comes to correcting diagonal movespeed when using custom movement, you'll find a lot of complicated trigonometry on their forums and elsewhere (Protip: movespeed / sqr(2). )
-More documentation on commands and what they do would be nice (small things like trying to use sqrt(2) instead of sqr(2) shouldn't require a google search.)
-No Else command. No seriously, it would make things so much easier.
And my biggest gripe: Exporter prices.
With all that said, I'd most definitely recommend this to any hobbyists and anyone starting out.
