"Although technically not a game, this software is responsible for its share of good games. From solitaire, to blatant Pewdie-bait, it does a good job."

Tiny Trek - Made with Fusion

Tiny Trek is now in Early Access

http://store.steampowered.com/app/328740/

Tiny Trek is the latest Steam game released that is created using Clickteam Fusion. Tiny Trek creates a ton of procedually generated content using nothing more then excellent use of the event editor. The game makes unique planets, surfaces, aliens and ships on the fly. The final product should play as a open sand box universe with procedually generated episodes that hark back to classic sci fi television shows. Its also available on the Humble Store, https://www.humblebundle.com/store/p/tinytrek_storefront

Check it out. More info below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCtDexTbjSs

Are you ready to sit in the Captain’s Chair?

From the creators of Vincere Totus Astrum comes a universe of exploration and adventure. As the Captain of your own Starship begin your trek of literally endless worlds by first selecting and editing your randomly generated race and ship, then set out for the stars.

Encounter alien races and exotic locations as you travel in an endlessly procedurally generated galaxy. No two game are the same. As you explore, randomly generated “Episodes” will have you fighting hostile ships, helping aliens and exploring the surface of new planets.

How long can you survive the deep of space? How far can you travel? Who knows what is waiting for you! Your trek begins now!

Features

Galaxy is big And when I say big I mean really big like a never ending Galaxy with stars, planets, nebula and other space phenomenon.

Do you have that ship in a different color? Yes we can do that with our procedural generation algorithms. Everything from the planets and stars to ships and races is created on the fly. And then to take it step further we provide you tools to edit your Ship and your race.

Lets fire blue particle cannons full... Engage in battles of one on up to three enemy vessels. Cool thing is with the Mission Matrix, a ship might jump out of battle and you may get the option to chase them, once you catch up you may finish them off or two of his friends might be waiting for you.

You think they have apples on an alien planet? I don't know if apples will be there, but the idea is that you can explore endless alien worlds and conduct various away missions. Planets will contain unique items that your science officer can scan, and your engineer can collect to bring back to the ship for trade.

Making Friends will be important Talk, trade and assisting other spacefarers will benefit you as each race you encounter will store an enemy, neutral or friend status. That will effect how your next encounter with them will be.

Episodes for everyone! In Tiny Trek we have worked on creating a generator that creates randomized missions or as we call it, episodes. Each episode last around 3-8 minutes on average and include everything from search and rescue, transport, battles and more. Imagine receiving a distress signal, then approaching a ship to discover it's a trap. After defeating them and searching the ship discover that the stranded crew is on a nearby planet. The unique Mission Matrix generates over a 100 different "episode" types and puts them together.

Stuff is cool... Player will be able to collect and store unique plants, materials and relics you discover on your journey. And trade them for other resources or information.

Disclaimer: I've used Klik n Play and MMF years ago, so this review could be biased.

Pros:
- No programming involved (at least for basic components, which made it friendlier to non-technical persons)
- Super easy to make 2D games or applications
- All you need is a little common sense and creativity and a little math maybe
- The design metaphor is perfect for making games
- Make it possible to get from planning to release in a short while
- Learning curve good enough for kids and even grandpas (I myself used KnP when I was 13)

Cons
- No programming involved (which means any bugs inherent in the core component of the game will have to referred to the tech support)
- You'll probably have to try programming using stuffs like Unity or the like to deliver 3D games, since Fusion's 3D support is pretty new and buggy
- It would really help if Fusion has free stock objects or arts somewhere to assist users with not so much creative resources
- The design metaphor makes it kinda stuck to only making certain type of games (although to be fair, lots of DLC objects are there to help create whatever you have in mind)
- It is more suited to indie/solo development than a large distributed team dev
- It could use more on-disk documentations to help first timers

I've seen a lot of improvement from MMF, and less bugs too. Overall, the software still remained true to its root as a tool to help non-technical people make games, so I'll recommend it to those who lack the technical skills to make a game but still very much want to do it, or to veteran devs who felt the need to go easy a little while and do drag 'n drops.

Very unsure about this product when i first saw it. I mean there must be huge down sides to a game engine that is drag and drop, right?

Wrong, its fantastic. My heart will always lie with programming your own games, but THIS is amazing for making smaller 2d games, even prototyping ideas with rapid iteration time.

You literallty game make a whole game in an hour with this :)

Im sure it has limitations, but none i have found yet :)

//**** edit ****

I found some issues:

- The standard version (not developer) when used with the Android exporter has some limitations, mainly to do with monetization.

- To use Google Admob advertising you HAVE to have the developer version (this is not clear on the product comparison page on their website)

- You CANNOT provide ANY in app purchase functiionality without the developer version.

I have seen other people ask how to use admob only to be told they need the dev version. Its just not clear enough when buying the Standard edition that those things arent included.

The comparison between versions is ONLY available on the Developer version page. It should be on the standard page as well, because the people buying standard need to know what they are NOT getting, just as much as the people buying the developer edition need to know what they ARE getting.

It's easy to start creating a simple one level game, but after a short time I noticed that it's almost a requirement to build your own level editor first. You can copy a level to a new frame with the same code, but if you want to fix a bug in one of the events, you would have to repeat that fix for each level. So sometimes I would just rather program in one of the Basic languages I like to get things done easier.

Another mistake I made is to buy this directly from Steam, there where some bugs in the past, and there was a bugfix available on the official site, but I couldn't download the fix because I bought it on Steam. It's like they don't see me like a customer on their own site.

They also claim Fusion 2.5 has XNA support, and I'm still waiting for almost a year just for this XNA DLC. Asked several times on the Forum here when it will be released, or that they should remove XNA from the list because of false advertisement. They told that a free XNA exporter would arrive soon, still waiting.

Some people made some nice games with this, so it's not all bad. But it would be a lot better when it would have a build in level editor with an easy loading/saving system to make it easier for beginners.

So at the current state I would not recommend it to anyone.

Easy as ABC 123, Tech support is great. The community is extremely helpful and fast to reply to any question. I had a problem and with and hour I had a reply with a solution that worked. There are a lot of resources to get started making your game straight away. This is absolutely brilliant. If your kids want to grow up and be computer programmers than buy them this.

My only wish is that the DLC/ extra exporters like the android exporter where cheaper. The IOS exporter is dearer than the main software (I guess that apple have something to do with that though, cough! cough!).

This is brilliant. Only 20 hours in, I knocked together a credible title screen, high score screen, working level template and storyline structure of a Breakout game. Early days, I admit. Doesn't like MP3, seemingly; Mantis (please see comments) advises OGG.

I bought this for £60 and two days later it's on sale for £20. I don't mind that, I think it's worth it, but buying it during the current Christmas/New Year sale would be wise. In return, what it <will> do is make you wonder what you could do in a properly co-ordinated team.

For people looking to make games, but do not want to learn code; Clickteam Fusion is perfect. Not to mention the integrated physics engine that I just love! I have logged in a lot of hours in this software, and I just find it perfect for anyone wanting to learn how to make games easily and learn quickly.

Fusion 2.5 is a polished software, that is the product of work since 1994. The engine might be a little tough to use at first, but once you grasp it's basics many doors will open: you can literaly make any game you want with this.
Great recommendation for those that love indie games, aren't a fan of programming.

Popular title five nights at freddy's was made with this game engine, which reflects in capabilities.

I cannot believe that I can even make make a game with this software. I am no good at programming, but with some basic logic skills (like if you press the right arrow key, the character moves left) and also a bit of graphics, the game is done. Totally useful for dummies like me!

While Clickteam Fusion isn't the most stable nor controllable software, the powerful event based editor, great community support and loads of extensions available make it really great for people who want to get their feet wet when it comes to game development. It won't replace real code by a long shot, but it's a great way to dive headfirst into the realm of game dev.

It's a very simple piece of software that lets you make any 2D game you can imagine. With some extensions you can get from the Clickstore, you can even make 3D-style games kind of like DOOM or Wolfenstein 3D. Overall, I recommend this to anyone who wants to make good-quality 2D games. It even comes with a built-in graphics editor!

The software is great, but the way it's advertised with lack of any real information feels like a scam. Under "About This Software" on Steam we're give examples of games that have been made with this software and promises that we'll make our first game in under an hour. I couldn't find any real information about using this to distribute my own game. Even on their website I struggle to find any legal information. Only after going to their own store did I finally find this: "Note: Commercial games and apps created with the standard version of Fusion 2.5 must include a "Created with Fusion" logo. The Developer version does not require the inclusion of our logo."

So be warned, this is not $100. It's $100 for the base package, $300 so you don't have to plaster their logo on your product, and ~$70 per device that you want to export to. I'm extremely bitter at the fact that they hide the legal limitations of the base software and instead plaster the "About This Software" section with "LOOK AT ALL THESE COOL GAMES PEOPLE MADE WITH CLICKTEAM FUSION!" I would not recommend it for that fact alone.

No recomiendo para nada este producto, además de su precio DEMASIADO ALTO, su poder es muy bajo y, se puede conseguir lo mismo y mucho mejor con otros motores gráficos que son gratuitos.

No lo compren, no vale la pena.
