Hi everyone!

This is a fairly substantial update. I hope you like the new additions.

Changelog:

  • New feature: Shields. There are two shields that the player can pick up and use: a standard shield and a fear shield. Shields can only take a certain amount of damage before they break, as indicated by a HUD meter. Shields are obtained by defeating shield wielding enemies. Defeat the enemy without destroying its shield, and the shield will drop. Collecting a shield whilst you already have one equipped will replenish the shield's health.
  • New enemy: Witch Doctor. Wields a fear shield
  • New enemy: Goblin. Hops around on a pogo stick, dropping mines that detonate damaging anything within their explosion radius.
  • Some changes have been made to the way Chests work. A small amount of situational bias has been added to the way items that are chosen, whilst still retaining as much randomness as possible. So you will be more likely to receive an ability as opposed to treasure, if you currently have no abilities etc.
  • Chest 0 spins message changed from "Empty" to "Failed".
  • Destroying a chest, or stopping on 0 spins will drop either a heart or a token. This means you always receive something from a chest.
  • 4 new colours have been added to the customisation list (Black, Camo 1, Camo 2 & Camo 3).
  • Alt-Tab player visibility bug fixed.
  • Hit Wisps (the things that leave trails of gold) with an attack for 50% chance to receive a token.
  • Some balance changes have been made to shield wielding enemies.

    Tip for shield usage:
    The direction that the shield is facing will be the direction that the shield will block attacks from. Aiming the hand cannon or carrying a key will place the shield on the character's back, blocking attacks from behind. Attacking with the sword will leave you open to attacks from the front, but will block attacks from the side the shield is facing.

Hi everyone!

This patch includes a feature that has been requested many times: Player customisation.

Pink bandana and yellow shoes FTW!



The feature is limited to changing colours, but it's surprising the difference it makes.

Changelog:

  • Appearance option added to the main menu. A variety of colours can be selected for bandana, skin, tunic and shoes.
    Selecting random will switch the colours each time the game is started, or you exit the Appearance menu.
  • Survival minigame re-balanced, and rules changed. Time limit reduced to 50 seconds. Enemy numbers and movement speed has been increased at the top end of the difficulty scale.
    The number of held abilities has been limited to 3. Any new abilities acquired will replace existing ones.
    To earn the Rage boost, finish 2 rooms in a row without receiving damage.
  • ? ability box removed from HUD. It no longer serves any purpose.
  • Spinning Blade projectiles are now being cleared properly upon entering a new room.
  • Heartbreaker ability heart drop rate reduced.
  • Cube enemy now awakens on close proximity to the player.
  • Potential leaderboard upload crash fixed.

Combining its own unique take on the real-time roguelike genre, with a nostalgic 16-bit look and feel, Diehard Dungeon is a game that feels both familiar and quite different at the same time.

Followed by a trusty, treasure collecting companion chest, you must make your way through the dungeons many randomly-generated rooms and levels. Armed with a sword and a ‘hand cannon’, all manner of nasty dungeon dwellers, bosses and traps will need to be defeated or traversed in order to emerge from the dungeon victorious!

To aid you in your quest, you may be lucky enough to encounter one or more upgrades, or new abilities scattered throughout the dungeon, or bump into the remnants of other players (Champions) via the unlockable 'Champion Mode'. Champions wander atop the dungeon walls, ready to unleash their souls upon passers by. Be careful though, as not all Champions are helpful.

A randomly generated dungeon is created every playthrough, with many secrets and multiple outcomes.

The game features a dynamic difficulty and ranking system - the better you do, the more challenging the game will become. Only the most skilled dungeon escapees will attain the highest ranks.

Do you have what it takes to survive the dungeon?

Minigames

  • Mayhem: You have 3 minutes to get a high score by any means necessary. Mayhem is easy to learn, but difficult to master.
  • Survival: An endless series of progressively harder dungeon rooms. Avoid receiving damage and clear rooms within the time limit for bonuses.
  • Fading Light: Coming soon!

    Each minigame has a global leaderboard.

На первый взгляд игра не плохая (наконец-то замена Айзеку), НО вот ошибки... Дай Бог, чтобы их исправили поскорее и особенно баг, когда для перехода на новый уровень нужен ключ, а ЕГО НЕТ! ДА Я ТАМ ПРОШЕЛ ... агргрг.. Ладно... 3$ стоит, а остальное поправимо..

Подземелья, ловушки, запертые двери, сокровища. Невероятное приключение с кучами врагов, прекрасной анимацией и дизайном, великолепно спроектированными уровнями и шикарным саундтреком. Никаких долгих обучалок, несколько секунд на прочтение сообщения на экране, и в бой! Чертовски удобное управление, поддержка геймпада, минимум кнопок, что может быть прекрасней? Однозначно играть!

Короткая action-rpg или аркада с разными бонусами и багами.
Т.к. рандомные краши и т.п. присутствовали и полгода назад (брал игру еще на Desura), то не могу рекомендовать игру к покупке.

What is a... DieHard Dungeon?

It's like a Zelda game. You collect stuff (gold, power ups , keys...) and kill the opponents. Pretty similar isn't it? Well yes but the difference is that It's a Rogue-Like game (perma-death and tough difficulty).


#Gameplay#
Game feels like Zelda, no doubts. You collect stuff and go deeper in the dungeon. The dungeons rooms are randomly generated, each run might be different.
Your companion is a Chest. Chest will help you in game ONLY if you feed it with gold.

There are secrets rooms in this game!

#Music#
Music isn't best side of this game. It's not the best but It's not the worst. It's in between.

#Difficulty#
Game difficulty on start is easy but later after several level-ups, game becomes tougher and tougher.
Each level up increases amount of opponents and reduces chance to obtain a perk.

To increase difficulty, you can always turn the Champion Mode ON.

#Cons#
Well I don't really see many cons in this game, except the fact that you can't rebind keys... YET.
Developer said that he is working on it. When It will be implemented? I don't know.


Developer is updating this game very frequently, so be sure that he will fix bugs and implements some ideas (Check discussion for more info).


Price of this game is very cheap. So why not give a try?

A well made top down 16bit Zelda Roguelike with random pickups, bosses, hidden areas, minigames, and increasing difficulty with rank. I put a TON of time on the DRM Free version, and plan to add a ton more to the Steam version. At only $5, it's definitely worth the dough, especially if you like the old Gameboy or SNES Zeldas, Binding of Isaac, or just the newer "Rogue-like/lite" Genre in general. Really worth picking up!
