Traverse a mythic little realm, use a sword to do battle & evoke sworcery to solve mystical musical mysteries. Co-operate with friends via Twitter, experience a videogame world that is affected by moon phases & help a wandering warrior monk complete her woeful errand.

Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP features an album's worth of original music by noted composer Jim Guthrie as well as artwork & designs by Superbrothers Inc, crafted & engineered by videogame wizards at Capy in Toronto, Canada.

Soundtrack Details:

Jim Guthrie's legendarily epic Sword & Sworcery LP: The Ballad of the Space Babies is a landmark prog rock concept album from the noted composer. Jim's compositions were named "The Best Videogame Music of 2011" by Kotaku, while Double Fine's Tim Schafer said "The music is amazing. I want Jim Guthrie to score my life."

Beautiful game.
The art style is pixelated, but far from retro. There's a sort of cave-painting look to it, but it also feels very modern and it's animated wonderfully.
The music has a very unique style that really suits the game's bizare world. It's a catchy and atmospheric sountrack. Some tracks are jolly and bouncy, others are dark and haunting. All great stuff.

The gameplay is extremely original. It's in one sense a point-&-click adventure, but it uses your mouse in all manor of creative and interesting ways that make interacting with the game an absolute delight.

The story is a strange fantasy ordeal, but it's told with loads of wit and charm. It's captivating and full of intruige, and it does a great job of making you care for the characters.

Yeah. So, good game. Weird game but a really cool one.

I'm always left confused by these types of games. I'm unsure wheter there's a stroke of brilliance that I'm not seeing or if it's just pretentious ♥♥♥♥♥♥y. There is some definite laziness in a way touch sensitive controls were transfered to mouse and keyboard, but it's functional enough for solving games rudimental puzzles and barely interactable combat.
Pixel art, in-game music and audio effects are both pretty enough, but I wasn't sufficently impressed to sing odes to Mr. Jim Guthrie whose name features so prominently in this game.
There is some optional twitter interaction which I haven't tried since I'm of opinion that video games shouldn't cater to any other form of media. Overall, too esoteric for my tastes, but maybe you'll like it. Check it out before you buy.

Nice game with great visuals and music, however, the atmosphere gets completely ruined with ♥♥♥♥ty dialogue and some stupid sound effects. For example, when you get to an epic part in the game where you open a huge statue, it completely draws the player out of the game when they use the classic children accomplishment sound affect.

The dialoge also completely draws the player out of the game and breaks the atmosphere. It feels like a bunch of hipsters with good music skills and art tried to make a game more original by adding stupid dialoge and sound effects.

I guess that's what happens when artists make a game without a game designer.

A rather harsh review, but sad to say I'm unhappy with this game as I did have high expectations of it after playing their sci-fi jam game.

Seems to have glitches that prevent puzzles from being completed. Verified online that this was the case. Highly recommend you do not waste your time with this game.

An interesting game, to be sure- the presentation tells you exactly where to take a break so you don't get burned out, which is neat- even though I ignored it completely- and the audiovisual presentation of the puzzles requires you to think outside of the usual point-and-click box. Having said that, the first few sworcery puzzles could easily dissuade the average player: trying to solve them as you would most other games leads inevitably to randomly clicking objects in the environment until you get them in the right order. It's not an "experience" like it's clearly trying to be, but it's worth a playthrough.
