In Andergast, whose inhabitants are considered to be notoriously superstitious, King Efferdan awaits a state visit from high-ranking dignitaries. For centuries the kingdom has been at odds with neighboring Nostria, but now first steps are being undertaken toward a lasting peace. But a plague of crows troubles the king, for the birds are acting with unusual aggressiveness, even attacking humans. Moreover, there are those among the citizens of Andergast who swear that the crows are bringing them dark nightmares. As the belligerent creatures infiltrate even the castle itself, the king seeks a skilled bird catcher - an opportunity for young Geron to prove that the reputation for ill luck that has followed him since childhood is undeserved. Following an audience with the king, the prestigious task is assigned to him. This is a good Point and Click adventure but some of the puzzles are too difficult and I had to use a walkthrough a few times. Some of the clues are far too vague or don't make sense. Sometimes it seems like they did not even give a clue about some of the things required that you do. In many parts of the game it devolved into a tediuos series of trial and error experiments. I know this happens in a lot in point and click adventures and I wish all developers would just give proper clues and quit trying to make the game longer or more difficult for no good reason. I bet they would get a lot more people to play these kind of games. The hand drawn backgrounds are great. Some of the animations seem like they could be better but it wasn't bad by any means. I have seen people say they didn't like the voice acting or the main character but I thought it was fine. I found myself really enjoying the story. I always tried to figure out what to do on my own but like I said I used the walkthough a few times and the game took me about 17 hours. I think that is a good amount of entertainment for a game like this. Overall I recommend this game and I already bought Memoria to continue the adventure.

First attraction: artistic style. The game did not disappoint. Very impeccibly done scenes with amazing detail.
Second attraction: interesting universe (although somewhat formulaic)

And now for the negatives:

I really wanted to love this game as others did too but in the end I found myself forcing to finish it...which is always a bad sign. My major complaints are more systemic to Daedelus as a developer than anything. I have played many games of theirs...favourite thus far is Deponia series.

Voice acting aside from narrator is atrocious. I played most of the game with the voice off. This is actually kind of funny...but I kept encountering a bug where after 30min+ of play, voices would cut out. On top of being unacceptable in a normal game, I got used to it because the voice acting added nothing for me. I think this is in part of possibly the actors being non-native English speakers but for me, the pacing, the emphasis, the mispronunciation drove me nuts. It is a really bad sign when a player cannot stand the voice of the two main characters. Same problem happened in Whispered World.

Game engine needs to be SCRAPPED. It shouldn't take 3 minutes from executing the game to start playing. The framerate is horrendous. Saving/Loading takes forever. Switching scenes takes forever. I have a high-end system. These things shouldn't happen. I had the same compliants in ALL previous adventure games by Daedelic. I feel like I am playing an adventure game from the early 2000s. Scrap it!!!

At this point, I probably won't be playing any more Daedelic games until these types of issues are resolved.

Cute Story, but I have to say I liked Memorias story more. (which I played first, dont ask why xD)
Riddles have a nice -sometimes really hard- difficulty, its really challenging and I love that.

That you can click on everything with right and left mouseclick is an important information I didn't figure out for a while :D
Was a funny moment, where I had tried EVERYTHING, I had lost my mind. I combined everything, I healed everything, I destroyed everything, ... but guess what, only clicked on the stuff with my left mouseclick. Oh boy. would have saved me an hour. (No tipps in hard mode)

This is a lovely fairy tale about the wonders of imagination and the struggle of an outcast young man to make his own destiny in a world convinced that he's a bearer of bad luck. It started out a little slow, but eventually I couldn't help but feel whisked away into this fascinating world with intricate and imaginative main characters, fairies, magic, and otherworldly creatures.

I have a love/hate relationship with point & click games. I really enjoy the stories and the artistic style of the games, but I'm also really really bad at them! This game was no different. It was a great story with loads of pretty backgrounds along the way, but I definitely wouldn't have been able to get through this game without my handy walkthrough. Maybe it was just me, but some of the puzzles just seemed to defy logic. It was almost like the devs knew it too because the main character made me laugh more than a few times with snarky comments about my terrible ideas! Still, the challenge made me feel even better when I could actually solve some of the puzzles on my own. When I couldn't, I just fell back on my walkthrough, so I could progress on the story.

If you like fairy tales and point and click games, I definitely recommend checking out this game. I feel like everyone should experience this story at least once. It also goes on sale a lot, so make sure to keep an eye out for good deals.

I enjoyed this game. The absolute best part is how quickly the character runs and clicking an exit automatically jumps to the next screen. Why can't all adventure game do this?
And just like all the other reviews say, it's so pretty, story is interesting, Nuri was so so boring but I found Geron enjoyable. There are no hints though and some of the puzzle logic is ridiculous. No way could I get through a bunch of those scenes without a walkthrough. But that was only some. On the whole most of the puzzles were really well done and made for a really fun playing experience.

If you like point'n'click, you'll like this game. Simple story, simple gameplay, simple yet neat mechanics. Decent graphics and voice acting. Couple a typos but who can get mad at Daedalic for that (they're a German dev team)

This is a pretty solid adventure game, hard to complain about much.
Excellent artwork, good voiceacting, good character design, decent story.

Nuri was absolutely goregous ins both artwork and childlike innocence.

Definitely one of Daedalic's finer games.

There are a few "video game logic" moments that would stump any rational thinger, but overall the adventure game aspect was done well.

通关撒花,推荐入D社大包,38块钱11个游戏。

说说这部作品:

1.无可挑剔的美工,细致优雅的色彩处理,每个场景都像是艺术一般,随便一截都美得不像话(看看社区中心的那些截图就知道了);

2.非常舒适的字幕,根据人物不同有特别配色,相当有水平的配音也是亮点,语速清缓发音清晰,很适合非英语人群,语法难度几乎没有,词汇量不算大,四级左右能看懂大部分了。

3.动人的音乐,非常符合整个游戏世界的气质,古朴悠远又感伤。

4.推荐游戏中的EXTRA,有一些相当漂亮的原画,还有整个游戏过程中的过场动画都收录在里面,这些都能看出制作组的诚意,过场动画非常有意境。

5.剧情对我来说不能算太惊艳,但绝对是优秀的剧情,尤其是结局,我。。。

6.解密部分,其实略难。开简单模式的话按鼠标中键会提示可以互动的物品,可以大大降低难度,不过尽管如此有时候仍是一头雾水,缺乏一些解密引导也算是一个小问题,有时不得不感慨制作组的解密脑洞。网上有图文攻略,所以应该不会卡关。

总结,怒赞强推。

Pros:

Solid writing and voice acting
Plot twists towards the end
Main Character grows throughout the story from a weak willed bird catcher into the hero.
Wonderful backgrounds
Good sound design

I am sorry. I wanted to like this game, I really did... But the animation is just atrocious. Very pretty characters, moving with 2 frames of animation, resembling "Tom goes to mayor" in the end, looking goofy and cheap. I can't play the game, it's just too irritating

重要的讲在前面
推荐打折的时候直接买买买“The Daedalic Armageddon Bundle”(最近几次打折季都是90off),这个包和另外一个D社大包的区别是本包内所有产品都是D社自己开发制作的,而另外那个包只是D社发行。
这个大包里当然也有本游戏续作:Memoria。(中文名《记忆》)
本作虽然是个完整的故事,但是重要后续情节会在续作里发生,总之玩完了本作估计没人能忍住好奇心不玩续作吧(笑)。

对这个系列两个游戏我想说的就是:简直好评!简直好评!简直好评!

剧情
作为奇幻冒险类的游戏,本作世界观十分完整,为剧情打下坚实基础。
人物刻画很成功,主角们不说,就连配角也都在短短的出场内跃然纸上。
故事本身并不复杂,但被鲜活的角色们支撑的很饱满。剧情展开的节奏恰到好处,几乎任何让你觉得不自然的地方都有可能是后面的伏笔(简而言之就是圆故事圆的好)。每个人物动作背后都有充分的动机,性格决定命运,所以情节发展得很自然。然后当你觉得一切都要自然地迈向美好的时候...转折就来了...
像传统的奇幻冒险故事一样,黑暗将要来临,不起眼的主角寻找线索、解开谜题、打败boss、拯救世界。实际故事也是这样,但远远不是这么简单美好,一点也不热血,十分无奈,还是个悲剧。
真是很无奈的故事啊。
对于Geron来说,Nuri的死活和世界的安危肯定是谁也不能抛弃的,拼命想要找到万全之法,结果世界也毁灭了大半,Nuri也惨的不能再惨。
或许他不该对Nuri撒谎,总之我从替Geron选择撒谎的那一刻起就知道这个定时炸弹最后肯定会爆炸。
可惜Nuri的性格导致了Geron不得不撒谎,甚至在篝火旁想要坦白的决心也立刻融化,结果一夕贪欢,炸弹爆炸的后果是万劫不复。
虽然很多谜题里都是要靠Nuri才能解决,然而这个女主角也是拖后腿最严重的人物。
为啥呢?因为她的天真无邪。
最终,单蠢的Nuri把自己蠢跪了,害的世界毁灭了大半,死伤无数,还害的Geron在续作里继续为她拼命(拼到最后还是个大杯具)。
可是谁也怪不起来Nuri啊,她就是太纯白无暇了吧,单蠢到这种境界,只能让人叹息和怜爱,感叹世界太残酷,不适合这种纯净的灵魂生存。
唉...最后一关在竖琴旁看到Nuri的样子真是令人心碎。


解谜
解谜符合逻辑、多样、跟场景和剧情融合的很好。可以按下空格键显示场景中的可互动热点,不必漫无目的的鼠标扫屏(热点提示功能可以在选项里开关)。右键点击可互动物品会有主角或配角的心理活动和吐槽,对该物品给予提示。
卡关的时候记得善用魔法,打开缺口的钥匙往往就是主角那两个小魔法。
对某些物品或者互动的功能摸不着头脑的时候多观察环境,有些谜题还是设计的很精巧的。
什么都试了还是不知道怎么办?别忘了找Nuri!好多场景我都想感叹,神特么万能的Nuri!连色诱都用上了几回!

画面音乐配音
画面很精美,画风也挺顺眼的,棒棒哒。
音乐的感觉也是很好。
配音很棒,对角色塑造起到极大作用。Nuri和骑士先生魔性的笑声现在还在我脑海里回响....

通关撒花:黑暗之眼——桑缇娜夫的羁绊,本作是Memoria的前传作品,如果这两作都有建议按顺序玩。

他本是一个平凡的捉鸟人,身负皇命,在完成任务的途中与女主相遇。那一日,她自林中来,那笑容纯洁无暇的赤足少女,原来竟是精灵。虽然她久居林中,不谙世事,但却善良美好,深深的打动了他的心。为了让她恢复魔力,他决心带上她走遍千山万水,只为再见她的欢颜,可那暗中针对精灵一族的阴谋也就此悄然浮出水面。他们的结局会是如何呢?相传早已绝迹的精灵一族,还能恢复昔日的荣光吗?

按空格查看可互动物品,有自动存档,但最好手动存,这是为了防止误操作之后自动存档被覆盖。和每个能对话的NPC都一定要对话,对话内容会影响接下来的发展,有时候甚至要反复和同一个NPC对话以得知线索。之前打到三分之二的时候因为没和一个NPC(因为是一头孔雀,没注意)对话,导致无法继续剧情,还以为是出了BUG,捂脸。物品栏内可以组合不同物品,正确的互动会发亮。

和其他解谜游戏不同的一点是:主角具有破坏和修复物品的能力,很多时候要通过这两种能力来解开谜题。一开始修复能力是女主专属,所以进行修复一定要和女主在同一场景,后期女主才会把这项能力送给主角,需要注意这一点。

不知道有没有汉化,因为对话内容比较影响解谜,所以如果不愿意阅读英文的话请慎入本作。除此之外,就是买买买。

重要的讲在前面
推荐打折的时候直接买买买“The Daedalic Armageddon Bundle”(最近几次打折季都是90off),这个包和另外一个D社大包的区别是本包内所有产品都是D社自己开发制作的,而另外那个包只是D社发行。
这个大包里当然也有本游戏续作:Memoria。(中文名《记忆》)
本作虽然是个完整的故事,但是重要后续情节会在续作里发生,总之玩完了本作估计没人能忍住好奇心不玩续作吧(笑)。

对这个系列两个游戏我想说的就是:简直好评!简直好评!简直好评!

剧情
作为奇幻冒险类的游戏,本作世界观十分完整,为剧情打下坚实基础。
人物刻画很成功,主角们不说,就连配角也都在短短的出场内跃然纸上。
故事本身并不复杂,但被鲜活的角色们支撑的很饱满。剧情展开的节奏恰到好处,几乎任何让你觉得不自然的地方都有可能是后面的伏笔(简而言之就是圆故事圆的好)。每个人物动作背后都有充分的动机,性格决定命运,所以情节发展得很自然。然后当你觉得一切都要自然地迈向美好的时候...转折就来了...
像传统的奇幻冒险故事一样,黑暗将要来临,不起眼的主角寻找线索、解开谜题、打败boss、拯救世界。实际故事也是这样,但远远不是这么简单美好,一点也不热血,十分无奈,还是个悲剧。
真是很无奈的故事啊。
对于Geron来说,Nuri的死活和世界的安危肯定是谁也不能抛弃的,拼命想要找到万全之法,结果世界也毁灭了大半,Nuri也惨的不能再惨。
或许他不该对Nuri撒谎,总之我从替Geron选择撒谎的那一刻起就知道这个定时炸弹最后肯定会爆炸。
可惜Nuri的性格导致了Geron不得不撒谎,甚至在篝火旁想要坦白的决心也立刻融化,结果一夕贪欢,炸弹爆炸的后果是万劫不复。
虽然很多谜题里都是要靠Nuri才能解决,然而这个女主角也是拖后腿最严重的人物。
为啥呢?因为她的天真无邪。
最终,单蠢的Nuri把自己蠢跪了,害的世界毁灭了大半,死伤无数,还害的Geron在续作里继续为她拼命(拼到最后还是个大杯具)。
可是谁也怪不起来Nuri啊,她就是太纯白无暇了吧,单蠢到这种境界,只能让人叹息和怜爱,感叹世界太残酷,不适合这种纯净的灵魂生存。
唉...最后一关在竖琴旁看到Nuri的样子真是令人心碎。


解谜
解谜符合逻辑、多样、跟场景和剧情融合的很好。可以按下空格键显示场景中的可互动热点,不必漫无目的的鼠标扫屏(热点提示功能可以在选项里开关)。右键点击可互动物品会有主角或配角的心理活动和吐槽,对该物品给予提示。
卡关的时候记得善用魔法,打开缺口的钥匙往往就是主角那两个小魔法。
对某些物品或者互动的功能摸不着头脑的时候多观察环境,有些谜题还是设计的很精巧的。
什么都试了还是不知道怎么办?别忘了找Nuri!好多场景我都想感叹,神特么万能的Nuri!连色诱都用上了几回!

画面音乐配音
画面很精美,画风也挺顺眼的,棒棒哒。
音乐的感觉也是很好。
配音很棒,对角色塑造起到极大作用。Nuri和骑士先生魔性的笑声现在还在我脑海里回响....

总结下来一句话:买买买然后玩玩玩!

This lovely game made me cry although I'ma a male player. I love this story, well hate the bird-man too much! Fire him thouslands times is not enough,NOT ENOUGH!

I'm getting tired of the binary system of steam reviews, it kind of guilt you into rating a game to "yes" if it is not a complete disaster and you enjoyed it at some level.

I won't recommend Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav. It's not an horrible game, it's actually quite well done, it's just isn't good enough for me to recommend and I will tell you why.

It's dull.

The story in itself is ok, if a little weird, maybe because of the large amount of lore behind it which the game barely manage to convey. The characters are rather weak, the main character especially who in my opinion is very generic and boring, a sin he shares with many other characters in the game.

The art is well done, with hand drawn backgrounds , but the colouring seemed a bit grey and forlorn for my tastes. The atmosphere in the game is ... weird. At first sight the cartoony look of the scenes and characters with the fairy magic and classic poor peasant boy making it in a knight world is almost Walt Disney-ish. But it's a lot darker, people get maimed and killed in horrible ways one moment, then the main character make a lighthearted joke the next.

The game doesn't seem to make it's mind wether it want to be nice and cartoony or dark and repressive and it's rather confusing. Some gothic games manage to handle those two mindsets well enough but in the Dark eye, it's more of a mess, it comes out as unfunny and uncaring. .

The puzzles themselves are pretty good, although not revolutionnary, the break\fix abilities the main characters has on object is interesting . Technically nothing much to say, although the graphics seem to be a bit slow especially in the cutscenes, nothing dealbreaking, but a slight annoyance.

I still played through the whole game, as a whole it's mediocre but It's definively ok , and if you're desperate for an adventure game and it's on sale, go for it. But there are better games out there in my mind.

Disclaimer: This is going to read more like an article than a review, since I have a lot to say.

What an experience...and to think I almost didn't play this. It all started a while ago when I saw how amazing the game looked, and that was all I needed to buy it. The first few times I tried it, I just couldn't shake feeling that this beautiful game was dull. So, I put it away. Some time later, I played Blackguards, a strategy RPG which takes place in the Dark Eye universe. To my surprise (strategy is not my usual forte'), I loved it! With the knowledge of how exciting Adventuria could be, I was ready to take another stab at The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav. All I can say is.....well a lot.
First, I want to deal with the story. Don't worry I won't give any of it away, since it would take too long. Suffice it to say, the game starts very calmly and yes maybe even a little boring. However when Geron the birdcatcher meets Nuri, things quickly change, changing the story into a dark, serious, and sometimes playful adventure. The lore in this game is very well done, for a point&click. Things we take for granted in fairy tale/ fantasy worlds are not always what they seem in this game. For example, Nuri is a fairy who finds herself in the human world. She is determined not to go back to her fairy kingdom . Thats a plot point that I found to be unique, and opens up a lot of questions. I really enjoyed the story, which is huge really.
Well to enjoy the story, you have to like the characters, and I loved them. Geron, admittedly, is a character we have all seen before. He is the social outcast who is labeled by superstitious, small minded people and it plagues him wherever he goes. He is always trying to prove that he is not out to destroy the kingdom. Even though it's a fimiliar character type, I liked Geron. The English voice actor I believe did a good job portraying the struggle that Geron has, throughout the game. Then there is Nuri...again we have seen her before. A fairy (yeah fairies don't need wings in this game) who is excited about the human world and wants to see everything with Geron. Not an original character concept, but Nuri is so genuine, innocent, and loving that you won't care. The relationship between Geron and Nuri is genuine. Honestly, if the chemistry between these two aren't felt, then the game fails.
Do I even have to go into how this game looks? It's gorgeous, unique, and the best 2D hand drawn game I've seen. Period. If all P&C fantasy games were Disney movies, this is the Lord of the Rings/Willow version of a P&C fantasy game. The look and sounds (gorgeous soundtrack) of this game gives it that epic, big, serious, vibe that I've never seen before. But then again, I haven't played Memoria yet....
Now the game mechanics. Yes it works like most modern day P&C's. You all know how to use a mouse. Geron and Nuri use minor magic spells in order to solve puzzles sometimes, which I found to be fresh. There are times, when Geron has conversations with Nuri that will change how she sees him, but it doesn't do anything to change the overrall ending. The puzzles are a mixed bag of fairly easy to having to sit down and think. I would probably not suggest this game to a new P&C adventurer, although there are some things in the game to help. There is a button you can push to see all the objects you can interact with, therefore cutting scanning the screen. Some of the puzzles near the end are hard, HOWEVER the game does tell you everything you need to know in order to solve it. Depending on the person, this could take some thought. There were times I used a walkthrough, but that was mainly because I was eager to continue the story.
Overrall, this was a wonderful experience. I know I will be playing this again to pick up the missed achievements. Also, I will come back to revisit characters I enjoyed and a world that I wish I could access through my backyard.

Thrilling and intresting fantasy point-&-click Quest.
Story of usual street guy & birdcatcher.
Game have very plot with intresting story turning point's. Voice acting was not bad and suits greatly to immerse into the dark & rich Dark Eye universe.

Despite game have numerous different puzzle's, it also have good hint's to help player solve everything without walkthrough (combination and spot indicators). Only obstacle, which delayed me for days was 12-ve god's puzzle.

Only thing, which I dislike was unchanging resolution...

Most of achivement's are easy, but some of them really diehard thing (as example healer/destroyer and lightboard operator), I advise to use save many as you can, especiaaly when you enter a new area - to not complete game twice.

The sad story is interesting for fairy tail lovers, not so good like other epic games of Daedaldic Entertainment, but you should test it. The graphics are good/okay. The sound is not bad. The game is a bit really short for 19.99 so better get a discount of 50% or higher.

I give this game 86 % personally (not so good ending (story, outro), short playtime for the normal price (if you know the game 2nd walk can be done between 1,5-2,5 hours) but with discount and for Point & Click fans it has some hours of fun. Give it a chance. It has enough qualities for some enteraining hours . Thank you for reading and hopefully enjoying this game and then go to the sequel "Memoria".

The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav is the first point ‘n’ click adventure game set in the Dark Eye universe. The plot follows the protagonist, Geron, who tries to rescue his town from a catastrophe and has to face many obstacles on his quest. He eventually meets this forrest fairy, Nuri, who he has to protect as she is one of the reasons why grim things start to happen in the lands of Aventuria. Initially it may look like a light-hearted story, but the tone deviates from that soon enough.

Now, the art is simply brilliant, no doubt about that. The hand-drawn/painted backdrops are definitely worthy of a praise as they set an unique vibe and aesthetic to the game. In actual fact, The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav has, at least, some of the best detailed 2D visuals in a point ‘n’ click game to date. It would have been even better having most of its environments more interactive to enhance the experience. The soundtrack is also lovely as each track fits perfectly with each scene and sets the mood accordingly.

But honestly, that is as much as the game can be lauded for as everything else is either average or beyond mediocre. The story, characters and puzzles have glaring issues which put a toll on my patience and made me uninstall the game just when I was a bit over halfway through. I simply could not stand it any longer.

Firstly, the story is a mixed bag for a fairytale setting. It has a few interesting moments, but these are overshadowed by the amount of monotonous events. Admittedly, the concept seems interesting enough to hold your attention longer than it should, but its writing can be shoddy every now and then. This aspect plagued the game with many pacing issues resulting in this agonisingly slow momentum in the narrative. Things pick up so slowly that you could easily fall asleep on your chair. Personally, the plot did not captivate me at all, and instead it progressively made me try to rush towards the ending as soon as possible. As mentioned previsouly, I quit before I got to the ending, so I have no idea if things get better. 7 hours in felt already too late for things to get appealing in my opinion though.

Additionally, the main protagonists are generally unlikable. They are boring, wimpy and lack personal charms. Not only that, but the fairy companion, Nuri, that you have to protect and escort up to a point in the story is borderline unbearable. I do not know if the writers' intention was to make her actually sound autistic, but I believe they succeeded to some degree by accident. At least that is the vibe that I got from her during every conversation. It does not help that the English voice acting is also dull as a lot of characters talk too whispery and without much energy in voice projection.

Lastly, the puzzles are fairly easy in the beginning and should not pose a problem to veterans of the genre, but they eventually become unintuitive and leave the player wondering what to do next in more than a couple of occasions. Therefore, do not be surprised getting stuck a couple of times later on. One interesting mechanic, though, is the ability to break or fix objects through a magic power which adds an extra layer of challenge in solving certain puzzles. Whilst this is nothing radically innovative, the mechanic is commendable as otherwise the gameplay is the same as in any standard point ‘n’ click adventure game from the past few decades. Sadly, it is only used a few times and not always in the most creative ways.

In conclusion, The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav had a lot of potential to be at least an engaging point ‘n’ click adventure game set in an already established lore (famously known in Germany), but its agonisingly slow pacing and painfully dull (English) voice acting are the two most prominent sins in this game which suck the majority of the enjoyment -- and closely followed by some of the characters and puzzles. Besides the break/fix mechanic, the game’s gameplay simply does not attempt to challenge the standard already set by the genre since the '90s. Although there is nothing utterly wrong with that, this means that both the story and puzzles, which are both average at best, have to carry the game – and The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav does not succeed in either of them. Much like the developer’s other franchise, Deponia, I was initially captivated by its unique visuals which led me to purchase this game in the first place. Now I wish I knew how mediocre the content is underneath that vibrant coat of paint. At this stage, I do not care how the story ends anymore as I simply could not enjoy the ride and do not want to revisit it. I might watch it on YouTube instead, some day. I cannot recommend this game unless you have an enormous amount of patience and tolerance. If so, I admire you.

Interesting, from a story point of view. Buy it only on sale, I got mine with a Daedalic bundle. The first half of the game is super boring, but the game becomes very interesting once you get to the Blood Barriers near Orkland and the Black Furs. I would recommend trying it as a storyteller, rather than a game.

PROS
1. Interesting Fantasy World
The world is revealed to you very slowly. From human-sized fairies to blue beard dwarves to Black Fur Orcs to Imps and so on. I loved the imaginary creatures like the Oculonculus with his Oglescope, the Peaclock bird and the optical illusions with the flow of water.

CONS
1. Difficult to the point of Time Wasting
Some of the puzzles are really illogical, like solving the thieves' banter.

Great point and click adventure game. Puzzles are logical to solve, no crazy solutions like the puzzles in Deponia. During the course of the game you get the ability to break or fix certain objects. This ability gives a new dimension to puzzle solving.

Story is decent. Artwork is amazing and each area you visit has lots of details.

A story-rich advantage game.

A journey of bird catcher and fairy, how they meet and face the world crsis.

Good voice acting, great animation and graphic, excellent music and a great story.

- the only problem is almost no hint for all quiz, and very unlucky some of them is quite hard.

I don't play many adventure games, but have certainly played some in the past years. I was looking to play something different for a change from my usual strategy games, so I picked this up on sale.

I was surprised with how good the game was. I would not say it is up there with the best - and I have played some of the best - but is a very solid adventure game. The most outstanding quality is the art style. It's unique and pleasing, although a bit different aethsetic than most are used too probably, so takes some adjusting at first. Still, it is a very beautiful game. The voice acting and music is excellent.

The story is pleasing and will pull you in. Mostly light and humorous at first, but there are definitely some darker moments.

The game is made by German developers and the influence there is strong. I'd say a related impact is on endings to stories -as the endings tend to not always be what you expect or not necessarily as satisfying to certain tastes. Yet, is still something different and enjoyable dependiing on your perspective.

Overall, an enjoyable tale woven in what is really more of an old-school type point and click adventure game. The puzzles are generally on the easy to medium side, but there are some stumpers here and there and puzzle or clues that are not that intuitive. For the most part though, you should not have much trouble with them.

Lastly, the game has a satisfying lenght to it. I actually thought I was near the end of the game at one point only to be pleased to find that I wasn't maybe a little over half-way through.

Definitely recommended for fans of adventure games, or those looking for a good game to try out the genre.
