Coalitions Has Arrived!

Greetings Everyone,

The 25th Pox Nora expansion, Coalitions, is now here! Coalitions introduces many new runes, abilities, and a challenging single player campaign with an exciting new reward, and much more.

Launch Gift
To celebrate the launch of Coalitions, we have given everyone 500 free Shards.

Launch Event
Earn an additional 250 shards for every 10 ranked games you play during this period. Rewards handed out at the end of the Event period. Matches must last over 10 minutes to qualify.

  • New Runes: 64 new runes have been added with the release of the Coalitions expansion
  • New Map Rotation: A new map rotation is in for the Coalitions expansion, 6 of which have received updates
  • New Packs: A new Coalitions Pack has been added to the Marketplace
  • New Boxes: A new Coalitions Box which includes 300 Rune Forge Shards has been added to the Marketplace
  • New Mega Box: a new limited time Coalitions Mega Box has been added to the Marketplace. The Mega Box gives 3 Coalitions Boxes and 1500 Rune Forge Shards!
  • Tournaments: Basic free tournaments have been enabled.
  • Rune Forge Shard Ratios Improvement: Rune Forge rates have been updated to be more player friendly, with improved shard values when sacrificing runes. Our goals were:
  • Increased shard generation for all rarities (between 125% to 250% relative to previous values)
    IN/OUT ratios are now consistent between Core and Extended Set
  • Decreased number of runes required to move up tiers
  • It will now take 20 Rares to craft a Legendary, compared to the previous 30
  • It will now take 4 Exotics to craft a Legendary, compared to the previous 7.5
  • Increased yield when moving down tiers
  • Sharding a Rare will now allow you to craft 5 Uncommons, compared to the 0.83 previously
  • Sharding an Exotic will now allow you to craft 2.5 Rares, compared to the 0.8 previously
  • Extended Set Runes values are now fixed at 200% of Core Set costs
  • Player Rewards: All single player tutorials, campaigns, and daily skirmish matches will now award players core set runes upon successful completion.
  • Ronin Runes added to Extended Set packs and boxes.
  • An all new challenging single player campaign is now available on the Marketplace. This campaign follows the PoxNora story where it left off, and while Menalaus is absent from the forest a Group called the Nefari Resurrection have come together to try and gain control of K'thir Forest. Also for the first time ever players who beat this campaign on Legendary difficulty will earn a FREE Limited Edition rune!
  • Daily Skirmish: Added a new Daily Skirmish called "Old Things"
  • All the runes with a * at the end of their name have been removed. Every player that had these runes will have them replaced with the normal version with the same upgrades selected and at the same level.
  • Champion Costing Update:
    The costing formula for runes has been adjusted slightly. Cost for DEF, particularly for higher HP units, has been reduced, while costs for base HP has been increased. For the majority of champions, this results in little to no change. Units whose costs are largely in HP will see their cost go up, while units that were previously paying significant nora for DEF may see some cost decrease. Overall, costs will have increased by an average of around 2 nora, with the brunt of the increases being borne by the champions on the lower end of the cost spectrum, which should go some ways towards correctly some of the efficiency issues with those champions.

The ranked Map Rotation has been updated. There are now 12 maps in the ranked rotation with several of them with updated shrine and nora font locations.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue with the game client where decks were displaying in reverse alphabetical order
  • Fixed an issue with the SP Faction Bonus, Ancient Implications and Mark of Redemption not triggering upon champion death in some cases
  • Fixed an issue where Prestige caused improper stacking of Iron Will and Fearless
  • Fixed an issue where Surge abilities were improperly counting Illusions when applying the stat modifier.
  • Fixed an issue where Sermon was not removing the +5 HP from champions that had been damaged.
  • Fixed an issue where Wolf Pack was only giving the primary wolf all of the damage bonuses that should have been applied evenly to the other wolves summoned from the Timber Wolves rune.
  • Fixed an issue where the Maximum HP from intoxicated was not being removed when Intoxicated wore off.
  • Fixed an issue with Swarm and its variants, where they were using an incorrect form of basic attack detection. This was causing them to only detect the most recent basic attack gained.
  • Fixed an issue where Reflesh's effects were not removable
    Form Change abilities have been redone to fix various issues

Drums of War and Player Ranks
Drums of War and Player Ranks have been reset. The Players who were the highest contributors to their faction and highest ranked player from each faction have been awarded 15000 Gold.

Ah, Poxnora...This game has all the potential in the world and at the same time the potential to fail at any moment. Poxnora is not a game that you will open for the first time and instantly love, but rather after you climb the learning wall you will see a game that rewards real tactical play and creativeness with its own unique features and lore. In pox, you can talk directly with the devs and high ranking members of the community which is great for expressing your opinions and thoughts on the game. The hearthstone-like system allows you to craft runes, but in the end you will most likely need so spend a small amount of money on the game to get rolling. I love this game, and I hope that many more people will find it and take the time to learn and enjoy it.

This is an amazing game. A mix between Card collection and turn based stratigy. Unfortunatly it doesn't have a lot of players, but hopefully that will change.

It's a nice turn based strategy game with much, much depth and a lot of cards (runes) to collect.

IMO, the best part is the fact that you're able to create your own battlegroup to play, tweaking a little bit your champions to better fit into your strategy; and be lucky and earn those expensive runes that everybody wants into packs. But this takes a good amount of time if you're going 100% free to play. So, or you will invest your time or your money in the game to make the cool stuff, this way, I can only recommend this game for those that like the genre and are willing to do one or another, or for those that are so casual to the point that will be happy playing with premade battlegroups (some are really competitive) until be able to create your own battlegroup.
This game is running for a long time now, so, there is a lot of players that can pass over new players as if they are nothing because they have much better runes or because they developed really good strategies.
The greater cons of this game for me are the fact that sometimes appears updates that nerfs so much some runes that they become useless and that you may spend a really good amount of time just trying to find a PVP match.

If you want to play for free, here is a little list of what you can do in a way that may give you a notion of how much time you will spend to earn cool things in this game:
- you can earn common, uncommon and rare runes pretty easy and exotic or legendary if you're lucky;
- you can destroy useless runes for points to forge new ones;
- you can get old runes by winning certain matches, some of those runes are really good, others, really bad - these runes are worth 1, 2, 10, 40 and 60 points in the forge, according to their rarity, if you wanna to destroy them to earn points. There are newer runes that will give 2, 5, 25, 120, 240 points in the forge when destroyed. While will cost 5, 10, 12, 25, 50, 100, 200, 300, 400 and 720 to be made, according to their rarity;
- you can forge and destroy pretty much any rune, except: limited runes and runes from the last expansion;
- you can win gold in the end of each match. This game uses a time/difficulty reward system that will give you up to 300 base gold for the match (10 gold per min in the hardest lvl), what is like a 30 min match in expert mode (it's a rewarding system that will not reward your skills, because there are matches that you may spend more than 30 min and will get the limit of 300 gold and others that you will finish in 5 min and will win 50 gold) and some extra small amounts of gold for some achievements during the battle, like playing a match where each side loses 20 champions;
- you can earn extra gold with the daily missions, will be more than 1500 gold per day if you complete all missions - and I think that there is a limit of 10k gold that you can earn per day;
- you can purchase packs that costs 2100 (not worthy) and 3510 gold (or use real money), but packs from the last expansion only can be purchased using money. Anyway, you can get runes from the last expansion through trading. Packs that you can buy with gold has a 10% chance to come with an exotic rune and 5% chance to come with a legendary rune;
- you can purchase boxes with 10 packs that costs 19440 (not worthy, IMO) and 31950 gold (or using real money) - by buying these is guaranteed that one pack will come with an exotic rune;
- you can try to trade runes with other players. The "try" is there because it's difficult to appear in the trade runes that are below the exotic rarity for you to make an offer and it is even more difficult to get offers for rare, uncommon and common runes that you put, unless they are the top tier of their rarity; and
- you can use to trade with an online store. It uses a points balance system and have some limitations towards the amount and rarity of runes you trade in and out. Anyway, it will accept pretty much anything that you send to the store and you can get what they have in stock using the points that you have, but stay aware that in the points proportion, the house will always win - they use a system that gives you a notion of the demand/importance of each rune, so you can use it to see if the trade that you're doing with another player is worth, also is interesting that the points for each runes changes per minute, according to their demand and quantity in stock, so, it is like the stock exchange.
