What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Childhood Memories is a game deeply rooted in the feeling of 'Anemoia' and nostalgia. As a solo developer, getting the atmosphere right is my top priority. I want to build the remaining memories based on player feedback to ensure every room, every sound, and every interaction triggers a true sense of deep familiarity and comfort. Early Access allows me to shape this nostalgic journey together with the community.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan to keep the game in Early Access for approximately 6 to 12 months. However, this timeframe might adjust depending on the scope of the new memories and features we decide to add based on your feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the full version, I'm planning to add New Memories, more polished environments, and multiple endings. I also want to include light puzzles that won't disrupt the game's atmosphere or flow. Most importantly, I plan to actively listen to your feedbacks and shape the game around it.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“In its current state, Liminal: Childhood Memories offers the first set of playable memories, giving you a clear taste of the game's atmosphere and visual direction. Core mechanics, like the advanced object inspection system and environmental interactions, are already fully functional. You can jump in right now to experience the high-fidelity graphics and immersive atmospheric lighting (powered by Lumen) that will be present in the final release. While the story is currently limited to these early memories and features only one ending, this version is fully playable and perfectly showcases the quality and vision I'm aiming for in the full game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The price will gradually increase as I expand the overall playtime by adding new memories, mechanics, and multiple endings. Joining Early Access now is a wonderful way to directly support a solo developer and experience this nostalgic journey at a lower price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will be the driving force behind the game's evolution. Since this is a deeply nostalgic and atmospheric experience, hearing how you feel in different environments is crucial to my design process. I will be actively listening to your thoughts on the Steam Discussion boards and my community channels. I highly encourage you to share your feelings on the mechanics, pacing, and the overall 'Anemoia' vibe, as your feedback will directly shape the design of future memories and the overall direction of the game.”

About This Game

Have you ever found yourself unable to visit a place you've always wanted to go? Welcome to a digital sanctuary constructed entirely from the fragments of lost childhoods. CHILDHOOD MEMORIES is not merely a game; it is an interactive exploration of "Anemoia," defined as a profound, melancholic nostalgia for a time you never actually lived. Step into the warm, yellow glow reminiscent of the 1990s and early 2000s. The television is left on. The snow is falling outside. The scene is characterized by its complete stillness.

There is no one chasing you. There is nowhere to run. Your only objective is to exist within the memory. Sit on the old green sofa and listen to the muffled radio playing from the other room. Pick up and inspect forgotten toys, VHS tapes, and worn-out objects. Every room holds a 5 or more minute loop of absolute peace. Let the atmosphere wash over you.

This world was designed to hold you. The warm lighting, the endless snow outside, and the soft hum of the radiator—everything is designed to ensure guests are unable to leave. It is an ideal cage for comfort. However, Anemoia is transient. You are a visitor in your own mind, and no matter how much you want to stay, a memory cannot last forever. As the feeling diminishes and the isolation sets in, it becomes essential to let go. It is necessary to blink and transition into the subsequent memory.

Hyper-Realistic Isolation: Built with Unreal Engine 5, utilizing Lumen lighting and 4K photogrammetry to make the emptiness feel tangibly real.

Tactile Nostalgia:A deep inspection system. Pick up objects, rotate them, and uncover the silent stories they hide.

Adaptive Atmosphere:Dynamic audio that shifts from comforting lo-fi hums to terrifying system glitches.
