What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are very familiar with the Early Access release method, as the previous game in the series, Arma 3, also originally launched in Early Access. By working alongside our community, we were able to deliver a unique and varied military game that players still enjoy to this day, and while Arma Reforger is more focused on the Cold War theme, we are hoping to create a similar experience here.

Our past releases have taught us that it is vital to bring players in to help us refine and polish the game, and bring it to the level that both we and our community can be happy with.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“At the moment, we cannot say how long Arma Reforger will be in Early Access. Our intent was to launch the full game after one year of development. However, due to unanticipated technical issues and some necessary work relating to dependencies, we have decided to postpone the game's release. Our focus has been on delivering features as quickly as possible and meeting our schedule, but we must be honest and clear about our current progress. Despite this unfortunate delay, we will continue to deliver all the content and gameplay mechanics we have promised.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The game currently includes most of the core features and supporting systems. However, throughout Early Access, we plan to have 3 major updates, adding more content, such as: new weapons, artillery, new gadgets.
We will also keep improving features such as health, artificial intelligence, and destruction of the environment.
We expect the game to mature during the Early Access and shape the future of the Arma series.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is currently a "core package" that gives players a first look at how we see the future of the Arma series, something we can share, discuss, and enhance.
The game contains three game modes right now: several scenarios of "Conflict," a bigger scale, persistent game mode where players capture strategic points on the battlefield; Capture & Hold, a fast paced mode where players battle furiously for a vantage point of tactical importance; and Game Master, where players can let their imagination run wild and create their own missions.
All game modes are available on Everon, a fully-fledged re-imagining of terrain from Operation Flashpoint. Players can pick between two factions with distinctive weaponry.
For more information about the content, see "About This Game" section.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will remain the same after Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We intend to use a range of different methods to engage with the Community and gather player feedback. These include communicating with the players directly on our official forums and Steam discussions, requesting, gathering, and processing of feedback through a dedicated feedback tracker support system, and using analytics tools to gather anonymous data.”

About This Game

Powered by the new Enfusion engine, Arma Reforger lets you fight for supremacy over 51 km2 of incredible island terrain in an authentic Cold War setting, or create unique scenarios in real-time with the Game Master curation mode. Return to Everon, the war-driven microstate from the hit game that started it all, Arma: Cold War Assault.

Arma Reforger is the first step towards Arma 4 and a versatile, creative, fully-moddable platform for the future, offering a glimpse of things to come.

Everon

Return to Everon, a 51 km² mid-Atlantic island in the Malden archipelago. Revisit familiar locales from Operation Flashpoint and revel in the natural beauty of a massive open-world; a stunning landscape of pine and broadleaf forests, flowing rivers, ponds, idyllic towns, and austere mountains, surrounded by pebble beaches and rocky coastlines.

Arland

Capture new ground and explore the remote, overseas territory of Arland; a small, 10 km² island belonging to the microstate of Everon. Situated with its mother state in the mid-Atlantic, it occupies a strategic Cold War faultline and is well-known for its military airbase, leased to the Soviet Union.

Conflict

Join players online and experience realistic Cold War combat as a US or Soviet Army soldier. Capture strategic positions, dominate the battlefield, and work with others to secure objectives in a dynamic, unforgiving environment. With a selection of period-authentic weapons and vehicles, recreated in meticulous detail, Arma Reforger's multiplayer game mode returns you to war.

Combat Ops

Experience co-operative gameplay and dynamic objectives with Combat Ops; a new scenario focusing on small-team tactics. Infiltrate Arland, strike hard, strike fast, and reach the extraction point.

Game Master

Control events, create unique missions, and guide players towards victory in Game Master — or submit yourself to the challenges devised by all-powerful creators and fight your way through a responsive sandbox where anything can happen.

Multiplatform

Deploying on both Xbox and PC for the very first time in the Arma series, Arma Reforger's modded content is now available to all and can be downloaded by console owners from the Workshop, a content creation sharing repository, exclusive to the game.

Multiplayer

Curate events for friends behind the fog of war as Game Master in Arma Reforger's real-time scenario editor or team up and go head-to-head with others across a sprawling island terrain in Conflict.

Workbench

Thanks to the Enfusion engine, you can mod Arma Reforger using the exact same tools used to make it. Introduce new mechanics, assets, textures, and more. The only limit is your scripting ability and imagination. Reshape the game and share your own creative vision!

Workshop

Expand the game with original modded content or make and share your own! The Workshop is Bohemia Interactive's own integrated, repository service, meaning console players can now unleash the same creative possibilities as PC users.
