I've played this game from day one on PS1, than again on gameboy, on my phone, now on Steam. Needless to say I've not grown bored of it. The story line is attention grabbing and stays with you. 2nd favorite point and click adventure game, next to the Gabriel Knight series!

The first Broken Sword game will always have a special place in my gamer heart, seeing how it was one of the first adventure games I played.
The game has everything; a good story that gives you the feeling that the creators did quite some research as they wrote the script. It has reasonably challangeing puzzles, humor and wit, as well as loveable characters and beautiful sceneries. And now, with the additions made in the Director's Cut, the game gets even better!

If you haven't already, you should really add this classic to your list of games played.

Poor voice acting, interesting plot that sort of folds in on itself in the end and collapses and gameplay that, to be frank, was more confusing than logical. I know this game is a classic, but take that away and you don't have much left. I've played several, far better, far more intuitive adventure games than this and while, voice acting aside, it wasn't horrible, definitely not the top of the pile.

I am a huge fan of point and click adventure games. This game is no Syberia or Myst, but it has it's strenghts.

What I love about the game is the story line and the hint system. The story is actually engrossing and makes sense - the two protagonists are trying to solve a mystery involving the knights templar, leading the gameplayer down a path to understand their order and mission. The hints are great - they have a tiered system and it allows you to easily pick up from where you left off, even if it has been days since you logged on (great if you are a casual gamer!).

What I don't like is the often cumbersome animations. This is especially true if you are trying to go from one area to another but there is one short animation prior to leaving the area...you have to watch the character walk all the way across the screen, watch the animation, and then you move to the next room. When you're close to solving a puzzle, this gets rather annoying.

Otherwise, this is a fun, casual game.

Fine return of the good old Broken Sword series.
This is a pretty old scool adventure and it plays itself like that.
The developer changed some characters some to good some to worse.
But the gameplay is fine and the story with its riddles are logic.
The game is quite short, the 2nd part of this directors cut is well written.
At least its not like the directors cut of the first broken Sword wich wasnt that good because of bad sound
and some new graphic effects.
If you enjoy a good time with a high quality comic style game with some brain teasers and a good sense of humor
its made for you.

I started playing this right after finishing GK1 20th anniversary edition and it felt very inferior.

Negatives:
* The plot is very linear.

* The characters, especially the main ones, are very annoying. Both my girlfriend and me can't stand them so I know it's not just me.
I can't find one character who is likable which makes it very hard to enjoy or care about the game.

A great point and click adventure worthy of being called a classic. Well thought out storyline, interesting characters, and a fair balanced combination between simple puzzles and complex solutions. This game is sure to please the die hard point-and-click adventure fan, as well as be fun and entertaining to new players. Totally worth it.

Simply said, this is one of the most engaging, exciting and just downright fun point and click adventure games that I have ever played. You play as both George Stobbart and Nico Collard, a tourist and journalist that end up interwined in a thick plot of conspiracy and adventure dealing with the rebirth of the Knights' Templar. The quest for the Broken Sword of Baphomet takes you from the calm and romantic Parisian streets to the most perilous of Syrian deserts as you trek the globe in search of clues and answers to the game's many innovative and ingenius puzzles. Each and every one of these locations are brilliantly animated, resulting in what's simply one of the most beautiful adventure games of recent memory. Broken Sword: Shadow Of the Templars is not to be missed by anyone, whether you are a veteran point and click gamer, or just looking for a thrilling experience with a great plot, fantastic graphics and a somewhat 'Indiana Jones' feel that you won't soon forget!

Broken Sword is an adventure game on the must play list. The story is one of the most intriguing I've ever played. It combines with good puzzles to keep you thinking. If you get the game, be aware that the director's cut has this annoying circle that appears on objects that you can interact with and they have changed some of the scenes. This might not be so bad for people getting into adventure games or someone that has never played this game, but returning gamers beware.

Quite possibly my favorite adventure game of all time, it is right there with Grim Fandango. This remaster is not bad, there is even a cute little intro, where you play as Nico.
Yes, I do recommend this game.

This is probaby the 5th or 6th time I have given this game plenty of my attention. I played it originally on the psone along with the sequel and games like discworld.

The story is beautiful and when you experience it for the first time, it has great depth to solving the mysteries that keep unfolding.

Played chicken with a goat. 10/10

Broken Sword is a great game.A classic,as any adventure gamer will tell you.The puzzles are fairly logical (by adventure game standards anyway),the voice acting and story are wonderful and the visuals are amazing.I have not played the original version so I can't say how it compares to this Dircector's Cut.I can say that this is a beautiful game filled with mystery and intrigue.A perfect starting point for anyone who hasn't played a classic point n' click adventure and is looking to get into the genre. So if the pictures and description make you curious,I'm telling you, this is a trip to Paris you'll never forget.
