Level reset - 11/09/2015 Patch Notes

Hello everyone!

As announced for weeks now, everyone's level has been reset!

Don't worry, you've kept all your achievements, items, implants and boosters, only your level has been changed to level 1.

What's new?!

  • A new leveling curve more relevant!
  • The highest level is now 50.
  • A 100 Cyberbux bonus at each level!
  • More chests for veterans!

ACE Powers Balance Update - 09/24/2015 Patch Notes

After the great discussions we had this week, we came out with a quick update in order to balance the game a bit more.

In a nutshell:

Captain Smoke
Delay on his secondary has been reduced by 70%.

His wall lenght has been reduced by 75%.

A 10% speed boost has been added on his secondary.

Vengeful Star
Her secondary strenght has been increased by 30%.

All the supports' movement speed has been increased to be closer to Strikers' movement speed.

At Spearhead Games, we believe that e-sports are the next step in international competition. We believe that this growing trend is on the verge of becoming mainstream globally and will play a significant role in defining the future of sports.

Arena: Cyber Evolution is the result of our passion for this phenomenon and what it can become.
We know that creating a game that is significant and meaningful on the e-sport scene is no small task and this is why that we have involved the player community since the very beginning of the development, when there were no menus, options, or even textures!

Arena: Cyber Evolution (ACE) is a futuristic physics-based sports game in which players confront each other in 3 vs 3 matches of wits and twitch reflexes.
By featuring a MOBA-like champion logic, ACE brings an unprecedented twist to the sports genre by allowing players to choose from a variety of super-powered heroes and what style of gameplay they prefer to build their own team strategies.

Designed from the ground up around the mouse & keyboard, ACE was not envisioned only as a sport game, but really as a new sport.

ACE’s ultra-precise control scheme allows players to analogically manipulate the disk using simple mouse gestures.

Just like in real sports, this gameplay allows for super intuitive gameplay while proposing nearly infinite depth & skill cap.

Фритуплей мультиплеерная спортивная аркада, нечто вроде футуристического хоккея 3на3, который скорее напоминает вот тот настольный хоккей, чем большой с клюшками. Что главное в такой игре? Конечно же, физика. Должно быть интересно бить, отбивать, следить за полётом местного диска, чувствовать отскоки и тд. Физика вроде как в игре и есть, диск скачет по полю правдоподобно, но вот разработчики решили её не использовать в игровом процессе.

Вместо простых двухкнопочных возможностей бить\отбивать как в той же Рокет Лиге, где суть игры в том, чтобы попасть по мячу и отправить его в нужную точку, здесь разработчики решили изобрести велосипед. Диск прилипает к игроку намертво словно это фифа и приходится заниматься унылым отбором. Причем он может отлипнуть от вас в самый важный момент, потому что время этого "прилипания" ограничено! Бить по воротам совершенно не интересно и все время представляет из себя одинаковую мини-игру "кто-в-какой-угол-скакнёт". Да блин эти самые ворота даже полностью закрыты до тех пор, пока вы не подберётесь к ним на расстояние удара. Да что ваще?) То есть разработчики вдруг решили, что забивать голы можно с определенного расстояния и не сантиметром дальше! А как же контр-атаки, как же дальние удары, как же успешно подловить вратаря, который вышел слишком далеко? О, ужас...у меня постоянно создавалось чувство, что игру делали какие-то ботаны-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ы, которые спортом не разу не занимались, в футбол не разу не играли, не говоря уже о хоккее.

Ну и всё остальное в игре тоже ужасно - ощущения хоккея нет воообще. Нет чувства опасных моментов, нет закрученных полётов диска в ворота...всё превращается в унылый набор мини игр. Да здесь даже не отмечают, кто забил гол, господи! Про повторы я уже молчу...Плюс ко всему вместо простого и понятного геймплея, который даже изобретать не надо - вот же ж, хоккей по телеку показывают, так здесь разрабочтики решили наводнить игру тонной разных персонажей, прокачек и способностей вроде блинков, невидимости, суперударов и тд и тп. Ну если суперудары конечно ещё более-менее вписываются, но всё равно добавляют ещё одну стандартную ситуацию, которая повторится 500 тыщ раз.

Вообщем, из хорошей идеи сделали неимоверно ужасную игру. Вместо простого геймплея, который бы захватывал с первой секунды, разработчики добавил сотню скинов и шапок для покупки.

Haven't played this game with my friend yet, but,
1. Bot AI is terrible. I'm sorry, I have to be this callous. Seriously.
40% of the time, my bot teammates are PASSING THE BALL TO THE ENEMY.
2. Slideshow on main menu is broken. First two slides are a solid, lime green colour.
3.PLEASE render it in 60fps.
5. My eyes are bleeding.

5/10 But I believe in improvement. This IS early access, after all.

Ok, this game has taken way too much of my time and I don't regret it at all. This is the kind of game that keeps you going until dawn and makes you late for work. I simply love this game and I'm gonna tell you why.


- The gameplay is awesome, intuitive and rewarding. For new players, it may seem a little weird because it's so different to what we're used to. Once you start to get the hang of it, you can do a lot of different things like scoring goals with wall bounces, using different abilities to do crazy moves, develop strategies to fool the opposing teams, etc. The game is easy to pick up, but hard to master.

- The community is by far the most amazing community I've ever had the chance to be a part of. New players are welcomed and invited to games so they can learn and team up with other players to create an even better experience. Also, streams are regularly held on the official Hitbox channel of Spearhead Games and it's how we all get together to play a few/many matches. Events are also organised to give both a casual and competitive experience to the game's players.

- Speaking of competitive tournaments, this is the part that I love the most. Every weekend, competitive tournaments are held to see who are the top dogs of the A:CE community. This is where people come to play and give their 110% to get 1st place and win prizes. Also, you don't have to be an experienced player to compete in these events, you just have to sign up and maybe bring some friends with you as well. - Lack of players. The game's not popular enough yet, so you can't really experience the game to its fullest potential at any time you want. A way to counter this negative point is to play when the stream is live so you can actually get in a game with actual people instead of getting queued up with bots.

- Bugs. The game is still in Early Access, so it's bound to have some. I think I speak for the whole community when I say we just live with it. They can be annoying sometimes but we just shrug it off.


The game is amazing and has a very competitive feel to it. It's still in development and needs more players but once you get hooked by the sound of the stream caster shouting your name as you score the game winning goal and every single member of the community goes WTF WHO IS THIS GUY I NEED HIM ON MY TEAM?!?!, you'll never want to stop playing.

1st impression of ACE.

Not the prettiest game in the world...But and its a big BUT this game has a lot of scope to be a clasic. Sure player numbers are low right now but thats not the games fault thats just marketing.

I spent ten solid hours in one sitting playing this and although few in number the guys who have played this for a while seem very nice. No noob abuse and when I pointed out that they were hard to match due to their upgrades every one of them dumpped their upgrades and went vanilla for me, can a noob ask for more.

I would suggest downloading this and spending a few hours playing.

Would i spend money on it in store? I dont know yet as I have a rule about spending on F2P games. If you can get everything via ingame cash that you can with $ and $ gives no advantage then ill pay but i have not played enough to assess this as of yet.

Overall first 10 hours I'd give 8/10. Lost marks explained below.

-1 :No in match chat or voip so for new guys or ppl with no 3rd party voip coodination may be an issue.

-1: Matchmaking at this time can put noobs in with tooled up vets making for some very unbalance play if the vets dont realise you are new or just dont care and keep their boosts active. ( this may be due to player numbers however so take this one with a pinch of salt)

Three-on-three ice hockey with a roster of robot players who are like MOBA heroes: Each with different strengths, weaknesses, and special moves.

Like a MOBA, you acquire new heroes (called "runners" in this game) with real money, or in-game currency you have to farm. Everyone starts with two runners: A forward (the player that tries to score goals) and a keeper (the player that tries to prevent the other team from scoring goals).

Matches are only three minutes long and the matchmaker puts you in with bots if it can't find other players (which is often).

Figuring out how to pass and remembering to keep your opponents covered is actually harder than figuring out the controls. After the unavoidable first impression that the game would be easier with a dual-analog controller, you'll quickly become an ace with the mouse-and-keyboard setup.

Beautiful graphics, cool heroes, catchy music, easy to learn.

All it really needs is a bigger player base.
