“A cool story with many twists, relatively complex puzzles, but most of all the brilliant, omnipresent humor make Goodbye Deponia the best part of the trilogy - and Daedalic finally a worthy heir of LucasArts.”
9.5/10 – GamersGlobal

“Goodbye Rufus and goodbye Deponia. Even 20 years from now, I certainly will remember our trip fondly, telling everyone what a good ride we've had. You will be missed, but not forgotten. Farewell!”
9/10 – Gamereactor

“The dialogue, the bizarre characters and the slapstick humor measure up to those of 'Day of the Tentacle'.”

More chaos, more destruction, more Rufus. Not one, not two, but three Rufuses cause all kinds of crazy mayhem in the long-awaited adventure comedy Goodbye Deponia: The Organon plans the destruction of Deponia, the lovely Goal has (once again) disappeared, and anti-hero Rufus just can't seem to stop getting in his own way.

All inventor and free spirit Rufus wanted to do was to get off the junkyard planet of Deponia and move to Elysium, the paradise orbiting Deponia as a spaceship reserved for the highest echelons of society. Goal, the ex-Elysian girl that Rufus has fallen head over heels for, still seems to be the key to his endeavor...and to the elevator that will get him to space. Finally, Rufus has come up with a seemingly perfect plan.

And yet, everything that could possibly go wrong suddenly does go wrong. Rufus finds himself (initially in disguise) on a highway cruiser amongst stern-faced officials of the Organon, while Goal goes missing. When Rufus stumbles upon a cloning machine, he believes to have found his way out. A clone copy is supposed to help him out of his predicament. But an "inexplicable" error causes complications and Goal slips from our hero's reach once again. Now, he has to solve three major problems: He needs to find Goal again, reach Elysium and prevent the destruction of the entire planet of Deponia by the hand of the Organon.

Three problems that only three Rufuses could solve – and thus, the luckless inventor decides to clone himself! This leads to crazy ramifications for the player: In Goodbye Deponia, the player occasionally needs to control all three Rufuses, using them to complete tasks together – despite Rufus stumbling over himself so often.

Goodbye Deponia is the epic conclusion to the Deponia trilogy and sequel to the best German game of 2013 (German Computer Game Awards).

The Deponia Trilogy is perhaps one of the best point-and-click adventure games I've played in a long time. Great comedy, fun characters and several genuinely heart-felt moments, all wrapped together in a well-animated package.

Definitely a must have if you're ever curious about the genre. =3

Definitely I recommend playing the first and second game of this series, but not this one. Although I enjoyed the puzzles, the absurds Rufus did on Goodbye Deponia, the end was absolutely terrible. I just stared the computer screen amazed how a terrible ending can ruin the whole series.

So, at this point you've looked into playing Deponia, Chaos on Deponia, and now you've decided to treat yourself to getting Goodbye Depoinia. Perhaps it was a steam sale, perhaps it was something about the game that caught your eye, or maybe your just a big fan of Point and Click Adventures - either way welcome to the third installment and last of the Deponia series.

Play the game to enjoy the story of Rufus, the lowest scum of the planet who works to put himself above the rest, falls in love, and works to improve the quality of life (seemingly for himself and a human from beyond the stars). Unfortunately, while the story works and has some interesting twists along the way... I can't say I am a fan of some of the major choices in this game.

Not a spoiler: In game 2 of the series you have to make Tuna out of Baby Dolphins. If you were not bothered by that puzzle, fine for you. What the THIRD game does is worse. Not only do you have to feed children to a monster, and break up an inter-racial couple, but then you have to sell the black woman into slavery. I wish this wasn't a joke. It seems like the ONLY black woman in the series, is used in a cruel manner by the main protagonist. I wish there were alternative solutions to these puzzles. Guilt driven enough to killing orphans and ruining lives of others, is probably why I will not return to playing this game for nostalgia, and warn you now about it before buying it.

This was a hugely disappointing conclusion to the amazing Deponia series. Not just because of the lacklustre ending to the plot, but also because of the ugly nature of many of the acts of Rufus. In previous games he was a crazy but lovable hero, whereas in Goodbye Deponia, he is responsible for selling a black woman into slavery to a monkey who forces her to dance in a skimpy outfit, whilst you feed her boyfriend to some sort of mutant parasitic monster burrito vendor. He also is responsible for the deaths of a group of orphan children that he comes across, and feeding a baby an entire bottle of anti-depressant drugs. At the end he is also finally responsible for the death of his biggest fan, who jumps off the Highboat when Rufus falls.
Overall, this game was a massive let down, and the ending to the plot made it even more of a waste of time, as the eventual result could have been achieved by just letting Cletus and Goal return to Elysium in the very first game, but many more lives would have been saved in the process.

If you love the Deponia series - Do. Not. Play. This. Game.

If you've played the first two parts of the Deponia trilogy you pretty much know what you can expect. Except it's even better this time: three times the Rufuses, three times the chaos. Do yourself a favour and get this game if you've played the first two, because it's not only the grand finale, it's probably also the best game in the series. If you HAVEN'T played the first two... Well, go read my recommendations for Deponia and Chaos on Deponia instead then!
