Norfolk Southern Dash8-40C out now for Train Simulator

11 settembre

As part of GE Transportation Systems’ Dash 8 Series, the popular Dash8-40C is one of the most popular locomotives in the series, and is now available for Train Simulator.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/277732

Built by General Electric between 1987 and 1992, more than 500 Dash8-40C locomotives entered service for a number of US railroad companies. The Series was the first to be fitted with a microprocessor equipped engine control system, which was later to be adopted on a number of diesel locomotives.

With an output of 4,000hp and a top speed of 68mph (109 km/h), the Dash 8 was considered a heavy duty freight locomotive and was fitted with standard GE equipment, including dynamic braking but without display screens, preferring to retain old style gauges and dials on a tall console in the driver’s cab.

Alongside CSX Transportation and Union Pacific, Norfolk Southern originally purchased 89 units and inherited more Dash 8s from Conrail when the two railroads merged. The Dash8-40C for Train Simulator recreates the original locomotive with narrow nose as it operates for Norfolk Southern.

Features of the model include flashing ditch lights, instrument and cab lighting, dynamic braking and Norfolk Southern coal gondolas.

The locomotive is also Quick Drive compatible, giving you the freedom to drive the Norfolk Southern Dash8-40C on any Quick Drive enabled route for Train Simulator, such as those available through Steam. Also included are scenarios specifically for the Norfolk Southern Coal District route (available separately and required to play these scenarios).

It´s THE TRAIN SIMULATION game on the market.

People complain that the dlcs are too expensive.
They are wrong.
Train Simulator is the only game on Steam I know where every user got this one unique game through this dlc policy of dovtail games.

1) They give you every year a FREE update to the latest version of the game.
Do you know any other publisher at all who is doing this? I dont.

2) Train Simulator is a game where u WONT buy or own all dlcs. Its not like sims where u have collect everything and had to buy more or less the latest addon.
At Train Simulator u can choose which Trains and Tracks u wanna own. I do prefer the German ones and dont give a ♥♥♥♥ to the UK / US ones. So I wont buy them. I have also only bought the ones which I really want to (in my case the ICE trains + the tracks) and theres one more good thing about it. There are so many combined buy offers so you get at least 40% off. (most time track + train)
The collection of every user is unique and thats also unique to this game!

Every year the latest version of the game for free, no season pass force.
Some gamers are helpless and unable to decide and then they are complaining that the game is too expensive. They are wrong.
#Today.
#Tomorrw.
#Forever!

I do higly recommend Train Simulator aka Railworks. They do have a more than a fair DLC policy, but some ppl. do recommend to pay 60 euro at release + 50 euro for a season pass. And that every year. They just need to start to calculate through that!...

Ugh, I'd rather downgrade to TS2014. I can usually run this with TSX at 20-30fps, but now, I'm running at 12fps, WITHOUT TSX. The graphic options have been butchered, there's no way of know which is what unless you do some trial and error, which could be a good idea, BUT you need to wait what? Like 10 minutes to load a route with barely any scenery like the Glasgow-Edinburgh route. Don't even get me started on the fact that you CANNOT turn off shadows, you can only reduce the quality. Great, now I've got a laggy game without TSX (which is apparently now called "Dynamic Lighting"), which makes the shadows look like ♥♥♥♥, and you can't even turn off the ♥♥♥♥ty looking shadows, excellent. 11/10 would play again.

I am so sorry...I love trains, no I ADORE trains and I love driving them. But with a game like this...TS2015...it's hard to find any enjoyment in it. As one who has been with the series through TS2013, this is a complete let down and disgrace, where's all the new things they promised? Not there.

If they wanted to get my vote on this then they would have given what is in the 'steam version' of TS2015 to those who already own it and got the free update. Stop half-assing everything DTG, this is a re-hash of TS2014 and I see nothing new except the trains in Academy...which you can't even drive outside of that mode...

If the video narrated by Sean Bean doesn't catch you ... (it's the We Are Rail Fans one) ... you'll miss any train and only drive cars probably. But a car, an automobile, just a puny amount of horsepower. How is that compared with for example a SD40-2 highhood from NorfolkSouthern? ... There's a whopping 3600 hp's in that loco. And the SD40-2 is just an average, there are 6000 hp ones around these days. You think trains are slow? Acela, Hitachi and ICE trains outrun even the fastest ones. Play TS2015 and come find out.
