9.1 out of 10 – http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/10/11/marvel-puzzle-quest-dark-reign-review

“Even for those unfamiliar with the ever-expanding Marvel universe, Dark Reign’s use of collection and randomized drops make it compulsively, sickeningly playable.”
4 out of 5 – http://toucharcade.com/2013/10/12/marvel-puzzle-quest-dark-reign-review/

“Takes the unlikely pairing of Marvel heroes and match-3 makes it fun. Lots to do besides the story missions. Entertaining, surprisingly humorous dialogue.”

entretenido, pero el progreso es mas bien por la "suerte" de que salgan los heroes

I started this game as a fan of PuzzleQuest (old ones) and comics. I've been playing it for quite a long time and the only thing kept me playing was my hope that this game will become better. But it hasn't.
1. PVE of this game has totally invalid MMR which makes 100 level teams to be attacked by 450 levels (newly released 5* characters). It's very very very hard to earn anything because that P2W guys will make sure that you won't get even top 100 with all your crazy effort.
2. PVP is "grind like hell or get nothing", even with 8 hour refresh interval.
3. Tokens they give as a reward bring something useful like once in a month. And I'm talking about gold ones...
4. They release new characters every week and even more often, but if you want to play next even you HAVE to get at least one cover of that character. Then you need to buy a new roster slot which cost more for every new one. Now they have more 100 characters and you need to have 100 slots if you want to play it. This will cost ridiculous amount of HP (or real money).
To gain something in this game you need to either play at min 10 hours per day or donate, DONATE a lot and then play 10 hours per day....
When you already have a good roster you can play some events just for fun, but don't expect getting much reward. But if someone just started... pity them...
I give it 1 star from 10 just for bearing Marvel name on it. Playing this game complete waste of your time!

P2W game with one if not the worse cash shop I have ever seen, dropped 20 bucks in the store and pretty much got told I had good cards but there useless in pvp unless I get 3 more copy of them! so it wants me to pay hundreds to even have viable cards! also the community in this game is horrible, vrty unhelpful players that will class you a noob unless you have stupid amounts of money worth of cards and openly insult you. Steer clear of this game like it was the plauge.

Match 3, Marvel, but.... Microtransactions.

The game's mechanics of a match-3 to initiate fights is far from new anymore - but its complicated by the need to "heal" injured combatants either by waiting or buying health packs.

That's the first clue.

The next is leveling up the characters. You do gain some of the upgrade materials and items from missions, certain ones earned at certain stages - but to make your team strong you need to further upgrade the skills, then upgrade the character, and repeat. There is a relative cap, but the distance from what the free to play model gives you and the time it would take to get there is absurd compared to just paying for it. It scales up the higher you go. Pay for more to get less and so on.

Hence the microtransactions. Lots and lots of microtransactions.

I wouldn't have an issue if it was possible to gain a decent team of your favorite heroes easily, just to enjoy the story, or possible to upgrade them relatively well without spending a fortune... but this game takes it to a whole new level.

Be wary, this is a Pay to Win game, and boy you could pay in spades with the level of microtransactions here.

Players beware. The lure to pay to win here is way too much for it to be worth it.

Other than that, its a standard Marvel-oriented game following the mainstream stories on their own minor twist with the ISO-8 junk I first saw years ago with the Facebook varaint. The story is alright, the game itself is okay. The over-abundance of microtransactions to make you pay a fortune is not really making this game worth it.

First night, I was able to play 6 hours of the tutorial.
Second night, my characters were injured after the first fight, and I had to wait 15 minutes. So I played BATMAN instead. (Opposing Franchise!)
Third night, I bought a RANDOM character, and it was a RARE Psyloches. BUT I couldn't use it, cause the 25 coins needed for an additional slot were gone, having been spent on buying the random character. This character is going to be deleted in 13 days, if I don't spend $2 on this game!
Fourth night, I could not earn 25 coins for the life of me!
Fifth night, I sold my Hawkeye for unspent experience points since I could not EARN coins for whatever reason. I then put Psyloche in his place. She was level 40 and rank 3 star. She did a lot of damage, but was way less powerful than Iron Man, a rank one star.
Sixth night, entire team died after second fight. I can't play again till they rest their wounds. All of the Hero Recruitment tokens are hidden. I can't use a hero recruitment token anyway, cause I have no coins.

If you like seeing familiar faces flashed in front of you and beaten up for real cash, play this ♥♥♥♥♥ of a game!

I loved puzzle quest!
I love marvel!
I HATED this game!!!

Cons!
1.My ENTIRE team was killed each round on night 5.
2.It costs REAL money to revive EACH team member, unless you wait for 45 minutes. Lets be real, you are gonna play a different game instead of come back in 45 minutes.
3.You are TOLD to spend heal tokens on your team EVERY ROUND!!! No matter if its 10 hp lost or 1000hp!
4.In order to play the DAILY mission, you MUST have FULLY LEVELED CHARACTERS! You WILL be fighting level 70 characters with your level 1 rank 1 characters.
5.AI is uncanny smart! They won't leave you room to breath!
6.AI is rooting against you! If you have a random power, be sure to expect that you WILL get the WORST of your random power EVERY time you use it!
7.AI actually selects where it's random powers are placed!
8.Your Hero's hit points ARE PERSISTANT! YOU MUST HEAL "EVERY CHARACTER'S HEALTH" AFTER EVERY BATTLE! Thats spending money 3x each battle!
9.You have to WAIT for your team to revive AND THEN heal!
10. Makes you feel like your favorite team of XMEN are SORRY SONS OF ♥♥♥♥♥ES!

Pros:
NONE!!!

I enjoyed the tutorial. But actual game play is ranked against you every grain of the way!

Here is a video of my party dieing at the end of my 3rd game, basically 7 minutes.
https://youtu.be/JGbjZlN9I9U
Sure, I could have played better, but then I would have died in my fourth game. The first game/round I didn't record, cause it was just so basic.
