this game is horribly over priced and designed to only reward those who play all day every day or spend tons of money. The draw/drop rates are a complete lie.

I do like this game, in fact it is my favorite of all the Puzzle Quest and Bejewelled clone games, but I can not recommend it.

First, what I love about this game. The powers. Collecting superheroes, each with their own unique powers to use during gameplay, is fun. And using said powers is easily the main draw to this game. And if that was all this game was, it would be an easy recommend to everyone. But unfortunately it's not. It will take a certain type of gamer to appreciate this game, due to the several hurdles said gamers will have to agree to live with.

The cons. This is a very competitive game. As a player, you are expected to compete versus a thousand other players for any type of interesting reward. And you will fail. A lot! You would have to be willing to put in the time, LOTS OF TIME, to grow your collection of heroes, just to be able to compete. And even then, you will still lose. Mainly because winning matches is NOT the way to win the big rewards. Being the strongest (and lots of luck) is. And this is where my biggest complaint falls; this game rewards the older players. The rich get richer, while the poor struggle to survive.

There are three areas of gameplay. The Prologue which is entirely single player and then there's the Stories and Versus which is where you will be spending all your time. It's probably best to choose one or the other to focus on for best results, but either way it's still very much an uphill battle. And either way it will be hours upon hours of grind to earn your tablescraps. The worst being how punishing the game can be to those who take a break from the game for severla hours (sleep, school, work, etc.) You can spend 23 hours fighting and securing a top place finish, just to have the rug swept out from under you in the last few minutes. Uncontrollably. Unless you pay.

So now we get to the currency of the game. First there's ISO-8 which is fairly easy to come by and mainly used for levelling your heroes. Then there's Gold, which is much more difficult to earn and can be used for either shielding yourself in Versus Mode (which does NOT guarantee anything!) or for adding roster slots so you can collect more heroes to use. You can also spend ISO and Gold on covers (which you use to level hero powers or gain new heroes if you have the roster space.) I do NOT recommend doing so though, since you will gain more covers than you will gain roster slots, meaning a LOT of covers will be going to waste since they come with an experation date. Spend your Gold on roster spaceas and your ISO on levelling heroes and purchasing gameplay boosts to quicken battles. Also note, you will need a big roster because a lot of the Story campaigns will constantly be limitting which heroes you will be able to use.

There's also in-game purchases, which I do NOT recommend. You can buy ISO-8 which would be a complete waste of money and also Gold which is much more useful, but I still don't recommend. I did purchase some Gold, but it was more due to wishing to support the game than because it was needed. There is also a new purchase called VIP which will give you daily rewards for a limited time. Browsing over the list of items didn't make it very appealing to me, though it is probably the best over-all deal. If you're looking for an early boost to your game, it would probably help. But again, NOT needed. The only real thing you can give this game is time. Lots and lots of time. A new annoyance though is the constant advertisement for the new VIP purchase though. Almost as bad as the Windows 10 pop-ups!

Lastly, there are cheaters in this game. The good news is once found, they are moved to their own private servers. The bad news is before they're found, they will ruin your chances for decent rewards, collecting them for themselves (which is frustrating considering they don't need them because they can just cheat.) Almost every single Story and Versus campaign I've played, one or two of the top spots were filled with players who obviously couldn't be there by normal means. Not even with luck on their side. This is especially frustrating considering how much effort you will need to put into getting the meager spot you end up with.

One last thing, this game punishes you for crashing. It doesn't matter if it's from bugs, freezing, crashing, or your internet connection. If you leave a battle it considers you a quiter and punishes you for it. I've even already won a battle, gained my rewards, and had my heroes damaged because of the game server acting up. Nothing on my end. And I've had several battles where the game forgets to shuffle the gems when there's no move, especially after a power is used. The only thing you can do is retreat and lose the battle, no matter how badly you were crushing the AI.

So will I continue to play this game? Of course. I'm "invested." But don't follow my lead unless you're okay with what you're getting yourself into. This is NOT a casual, or friendly, game.

Wow, I admittedly downloaded this game because I was rather made eager by the Marvel and Free package, and whats more it seemed to not be like the crummy Marvel games of yore that make you pay to do anything more than hop. But alas through my initial enjoyment of the game I realized when the AI takes over for other players, and better yet when you are playing only AI, the odds are drastically in the AI's favor that the select colors they need will drop. This is okay, I thought, all it means is my time in this game will be a bit more challenging. Then I saw changes as the game kept updating, the AI still was favored, but now things would happen like my entire team dropping dead on my turn (the first turn) when no match was made and no power fired. I sent an email looking for an explanation, thinking maybe it was an accidental bug, I got a computer generated impersonel response that was not even pertinent to my query. I decided to grin and bare it, it actually got better after the next update. After some time though suddenly it started getting worse, the AI was using powers it had no way of using (no AP) and often dealing 2-3x the damage it should have been, the only improvement from before is I no longer watched my whole team die on turn one, now it was turn five.

I finally decided to delete the game and send a carefully worded letter to the techs, this was and is the only Marvel game I ever actually liked, and even was pondering spending money on it.

Edit: The email I was awaiting from the game people finally arrived, titled "Our Friend" and in German. I never told them I spoke what little German I do, so this seems like another generic, "we will make you happy" attempt.

this game is a free to play game based on marvel characters... well... no , this game is really pay to play! you can have new heroes grinding the pve events or the pvp events (in both cases you play against the AI) ,the problem is that you can have all the heroes like a free to play player, but... you can't use them because you have limited roster space! so you often have some good heroes but you have to sell them for very few resources because after 14 days the hero vanish... to buy a new roster space you need hero points, but after the first 25 spaces, the game became really greedy and you need 200,225,250,275,300 ,400,,500,700,1000 points to have only 1 more slot! you can get points grinding the events but you get only 100 points if you reach the first 10 position in an instance with 1000 players... or 50 if you reach the first 50 ,at day, plus 50 if you live in front of the monitor grinding like there is no tomorrow an 50 if you reach the first 50 position at the end of the event. Another big problem is the broken level of difficulty, this is based on your roster...so if you are really lucky and you get a level 250 hero, you have to sell it or you will face enemies that will kill your heroes with only one hit! when one of your heroes is defeated, you need to wait until he is healed, more high is the level, more time is needed, sometimes you have to wait 1 or 2 hours! in conclusion... avoid this game if you don't want to spent a lot of money !

So I've been reading some comments while the game downloads and saw some people complaining that is counts game time even when you weren't even with the game open.
Thought: "Nah, they're joking to hide their hours of shame."

Haven't played the game yet, but this is just ridiculous. IT SAYS I HAVE 44MIN OF GAME.
IT'S STILL HALFWAY THROUGH THE INICIAL DOWNLOAD.

Do you like superheroes? Do you like Candy Crush? Then this is the game for you. This isn't my favorite game, but when every now and then I find myself playing this. It's free, and I don't have the same feeling of guilt I have when I actually play Candy Crush. The rteason I recommend it is because it is free, it has characters that I love, and brings another layer to a game that is already enjoyable. By the way, by recommending this game I do not take any responsibility for the endless time you may spend playing this game.

A boring story targeted to people who know the Marvel lore by heart (who usually aren't in the match-3 demo), and yet treating them like idiots with its pathetic writing (unless it was intended). This is usually solved by having great gameplay. Which isn't the case here. Not only is this entry clearly inferior to the other (not exactly great either) games in the PQ series, but it's also badly implemented. My PC runs The Witcher 3 at 60 fps, but can barely handle 30 fps of these bad 2D graphics. And the 'Tap to continue' prompt clearly shows it's a mobile game that was ported without an after-thought.
The only good thing in here is the character model sheets. I'm sure you can download them off some dedicated wiki, I'm pretty sure, so who cares.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Marvel universe, especially its TV shows, but I have no idea WHO this game is for. Certainly not for me.

It is a free to play match 3 game with a nice little Marvel spin on things.
However, once you've beaten the single player campaign you have a choice to make: stop playing or start paying.

The grind becomes almost too painful to recommend due to roster space restriction, and the very slow speed by which you unlock Hero points (the currency that allows you to have a larger roster).

I've yet to spend a dime, but it is clear the developers are definitely whale hunters.
So, enjoy it until the grind starts to hurt.

(If you want a game that you can play for hours on end move along, if you want to play about an hour or two at a time, a couple times a day THIS IS THE PERFECT GAME FOR YOU.)

Alright, after reading many of the posts here I felt the need to post my own review.
This game is the type of game that you are supposed to progress over months. There is a fairly good pace of gaining characters/currency of either type in game.
A MAJOR MISTAKE is wasting the in game Coin on trying to buy heroes. ONLY BUY hero slots. I have 35ish hero slights and haven't bought a single thing. In fact, I earn enough gold to buy more ever few days. The prologue has many events that give gold, if you place decently in a pvp or pve event gold. THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE THAT YOU SHOULD WORRY ABOUT.
One major point I want to make is, while you can buy currency, it WILL NOT go far at all. This makes it even better for F2P players because they can always remain competitive.
Overall, this is the type of game you play a few times a day, taking a few hour break inbetween to recharge lives.
It is an amazing game, that people just need to learn how to EFFECTIVELY use there in game currency.
ONE finally thing D3go.com is the site where you can find the forums, there are AMAZING GUIDES on farming iso, what heroes to focus leveling, good hero combos, etc.
