Arma Tactics is a turn-based close-combat strategy game, where you take control of a four-member Special Forces team. There are no given strategies, rails to move on, or paths to follow; it‘s up to you to decide how you will play through both the story-driven missions and generated missions with randomized objectives. Whether using stealth or a more direct approach, you will need to use your strategic thinking and use both basic and advanced weaponry while facing many different opponents - ranging from unorganized local militia to smart and skilled mercenaries.

With highly replayable missions, achievements, weapons to unlock and two single-player campaigns, Arma Tactics offers many hours of intense ever-changing action.

Game should be free, because the rage it produces from getting shot through cover by enemies that have no idea that you're there is not justified by the 1.79$ price tag.

I really wanted to recommend this game, and be a positive review in all the bashing but I just can't, this is a turn based tactical strategy game but you can never count on tactical play, it's only luck. Enemies will spot you from ridiculous spots like from behind three walls or they will spot you coming from behind even if they are looking the other way, and sometimes you will run in front of them and they won't spot you, but other than that I liked the graphics, the animations the sounds, the equipments and the leveling system, the whole gameplay idea is not bad even though in close places sometimes you miss click an action because of bad ports.
The story is basically two operations for a total of 10 missions, you can as well play free missions to level up your operators, your shooting is affected by distance and the skill of the operator on this particular gun but what's the point if the main purpose of the game, the 'tactical strategy' part is broken.

Couldn't get this game to work properly, it is buggy as hell. The gameplay is quite boring and it doesn't have anything to doe with the ArmA games.

The day I played Arma Tactics for the first time was also the day I played it the last time. Do not be deceived by the low price tag or Arma brand slapped on this game, it is complete and utter garbage. The game is so frustratingly broken that I couldn't even be bothered to try and finish the first level after very few attempts. The moment one enemy notices you the rest come rushing in on your squad and you're pretty much screwed, and don't even bother taking cover because enemies can shoot your soldiers through concrete walls and any other forms of "cover" without even trying. I wanted to train my soldiers in hopes of maybe bettering my chances, but sadly the "randomized" missions that I was told about in one of the tooltips are only available if you complete the campaign missions. Arma fan, tactical strategy fan or otherwise, stay far away from this game.

I like a good strategy game myself but this is just slow and broken its a genuine drag to play if i were you and you wanted this or a similar game to this i would strongly advice that you get company of heroes or the even better Xcom or Xcom 2 its only pro is that it is cheap but not cheap enough for what you are getting. Thx

Grafica ottima.. Camper, Cheater e balle varie..

I'm Italian and i love bhoemia products. Also if in the last sim ARMA3 they have in part fault making a sim not at the same level of ARMA II.This little sim instead is genial cause it is a new brand product that leave the free of turn time at players.
It's really good and playable and easy to learn. The only worse thing is that Bhoemia have stopped any improvements on this sim that really have a great potential in itself. For example....the players would have also the possibility to create levels by scratch using a fast editor only for to create new missions but that is missed.Second ...we would have multiplayer and there is not.In conclusion a good sim....funny but a little abandoned by devs.Anyway i can say....buy it and have fun.

Bad PC port of poor mobile game cashing in on the Arma franchise. Xcom / Jagged Alliance style game play but the missions are static and poorly written. The forgettable story, the awkward camera angles, and the clunky interface all conspire to prevent you from playing this fiddly, bugged and frustrating game.

One to avoid.

It's something that's simple enough for a person who's not familiar with tactical turn based strategy games to use as an introduction, but it's simply lacking in complexity for any person who is a veteran of tactical turn based games.

Also, it's just a cheap port of a mobile game, so go figure.

If you're a fan of the genre, feel free to skip over this unless you really want another game to play. If you're new, it's a decent starting game, but I would still suggest trying to get into a better game like X-COM.

Terrible interface, arbitrary mechanics, glitchy engine, dull art design, 2005 era graphics, and a boring campaign. Yep, it's another a bad port of a bad tablet game. Just forget this one ever happened.

If you really want this kind of game, Breach and Clear did it decently.

First of all, we all need to remember that this game was actually made for mobile devices and this is one of the reasons why I won't judge it as harshly, I suppose. The question, however, is do I recommend it? As you can see by the big symbol over this "review" I do. I do, but to a certain type of people.
Firstly, if you are a big (so called "hardcore") tactical strategy player ARMA Tactics is not for you. It's simple, easy and fast. But, if you are like me and are quite new to the genre it is a good starting point.
As far as graphics go...they're pretty bad for a PC game (again, remember that this is a port of a mobile game) but they get the job done. You don't need insanely good graphics to enjoy this type of game so that's all I'm going to say about that.
Gameplay is what we are looking for here. Is it good, you ask. It's...decent, I say. It doesn't require some amazing set of tactician skills. You basically move your squad around, shoot some people, heal if you need to and you will rarely need to heal if you put some thought into it. What I like is that the game gives you good feedback. If there are enemies around you, you see an indication on your screen that shows you whether he's in line of sight, the hit chance percentege and you can click on the bullseye to see where he is. When you finish a mission you get rewarded XP to level up your team's skills and credits to buy different weapons, medkits, grenades and the likes, so there is some progression.
Sound is decent, again. The voice acting gets weird sometimes and I'm astounded by how much one of your soldiers sounds like Bear Grylls. Other than that - silenced, unsilenced gunshots, grunts and moans and other battle-related sounds.
To sum it all up, it's not exactly a tactical game, more of a "squad control simulator" but it's decent for newer tactics gamers like me. I haven't encountered any major bugs but I guess, seeing the other reviews, I might have been lucky so far. So yes, I can recommend it to newer players but if you're a veteran tactical game player stay away from it.
