Achievments, True Fullscreen, and More!

Some among us will recall that quite some time ago there was a large update. It worked on Windows but not on OSX. That changes today!

The 2.0 update, now available and working on both Windows and OSX, is a complete overhaul of the game that completely ditches Flash. The immediate advantages of this is to allow fullscreen that doesn't run in auto-max resolution, have saves that weren't left to the whims of a web browser, and allow for standard Steam features like the overlay and achievements. Here's a list of the notable changes:

-Teleport now saps 'flow' tiles
-Each room has a name
-In-Game Mini-Map (can be enabled from pause menu)
-Full pause map, shows you what rooms you've completed at a glance
-Battery now shows how many tiles remain to be lit
-Completely new look for text elements in the HUD
-4:3 Aspect Ratio
-Steam Overlay
-Steam Achievements (10 of them)

It should be noted that the change in how saves work means that any save data from the Flash version will not carry over. I realize this might not be to everyone's liking so on Windows I left the Flash version in the download, and on OSX put the Flash version into an easily accessible beta.

Another change that should be noted is that the new version uses raster instead of vector graphics. There were several reasons for this, and the most tangible benefit is that the game will in general run better on better machines. This wasn't always the case with the Flash version.

And that should about do it! I'd like to apologize again to OSX users for taking so long with this update. I hope you'll enjoy the update!

It's simple but attractive art style makes for a perfect combo with challenging but simplistic gameplay
The difficulty ramp was perfect in the beginning with some areas and object that you get the feeling you'll need to come back to at a later date to access.
Puzzles started easy but become harder over time so they require you to think outside of the box you are in.

I never played got to play the original flash version which was a let down for a lot of new players as the map was very small and blurry making looking those last few unexplored areas.... troublesome, to say the least.
One of the secret areas was VERY hard to get to because I lit the room up before accessing it but I did manage to get in after a few minutes.

- Overall a fun game to play on the side, challenging, nice music and a great art style

Game is hard as ****. Dont let the cute graphics fool you. This game is one of those that is hard even if you have a good map to guide you. (found one in the forums) Without a map i find this game to have too much of the trial & error type of gameplay (you will learn to hate it when you fall down from a level just when you are trying to find the last power node - resetting the level)

I find myself nevertheless drawn to this game. This is not a walk in the park game that holds your hand and it feels really good when a cluster of levels start to be solved slowly.

the game its really funny if you like puzzle games.
It sounds ok
Its graphics are pretty good, it looks simple and stylish but without confusing you from what is what.
the gameplay mechanics are pretty entretaining, but sometimes I don't know if the way I solved a room is the correct way or it was because of the delay between full/empty light ability.
My only problems with the games are the necesity to revisit every room and find your way to the unsolved rooms, with such an extensive map a zoom option would be great, and in one room particularly I teleported by error in a closed space and had to use five seed to solve the room because I couldn't get out of where I was which is a waste for me.

1000 Amps is a simple little platformer where you must go through empty levels, lighting the way. Everything you touch becomes a wall, some sort of platforming obstacle, or node. The goal is to light all of the nodes of each room before progressing. Through the game more power ups and obstacles are introduced, making puzzles become appropriately more challenging. Most rooms had multiple exits, allowing the player to solve rooms in different orders.

The music is repetitive, but easy to listen to. It never bothered me in my hour with the game, but a little more variety would have been nice. The art is really simple, and easy on the eyes. Every detail of the game is distinct and easy to figure out what it means – even the first time coming across it.

Overall 1000 Amps is a well-executed minimalistic non-linear puzzle platformer.

1000 Amps is an exploration game, structured similarly to a metroidvania game but with unique mechanics and no combat except the final boss. The game world is split up into various rooms which you are tasked with restoring power to by activating all the energy node blocks in each one. It sounds easy, but your character's jump height is tied to the % of power restored to the current room, and each room resets if you don't complete it before moving to another.

As you progress through the game you acquire new new abilities which let you deal with new obstacles the game throws in your way in metroidvania fashion. Some rooms require quick reflexes and timing, while others just require some thinking. Overall I found the puzzles well designed, though a few can be frustrating. The biggest weakness though is that there are quick a few lengthy one-way passages, and if you miss completing a room in those areas, it takes a while to get back there.

It's a simple game, but a good one. The difficulty is higher than the appearance would suggest however.
