What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Griddle Up! is a two-player co-op street-food chaos game: you and a partner run a jianbing (Chinese crepe) stall together. Making pancakes is the job, and messing with each other is the fun. Whether a game like this works depends almost entirely on what happens when two real people play it together, and we can’t fully test that behind closed doors.

We’re a very small team. The core game is already playable from start to finish, so we want players in early, to tell us how the pancake-making feels, how the pacing holds up, and which bits of chaos are actually funny versus just annoying. Then we’ll build the rest of the game with that feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Early Access to last roughly 6–12 months. The actual length will depend on player feedback and development progress, and we’ll keep the community updated along the way.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access, we want to make what’s already here deeper, smoother, and more fun. Our main focus areas are:

Shop flow: smoothing out every step of running the stall, from prepping and taking orders to cooking, getting paid, and closing up. Busy moments should feel hectic but fun, not frustrating.
Balance: using real player feedback to tune customer patience, order difficulty, income and costs, and how often emergencies happen, so each day is challenging without being punishing.
Online play: improving connection reliability and stability and reducing lag and desync, so cooking together and messing with each other both feel smooth.
Game feel: continuing to polish how pancake-making, picking up and placing things, throwing, and shoving or carrying your partner feel, so every action is snappy and satisfying.
Items: improving how existing items work and look, and adding or reworking fun items based on player feedback.
Map design: refining the layout, flow, and details of the shop and the three existing maps so they’re easier to move around in, better looking, and more lived-in.
Overall polish: sound and music, art and animation details, onboarding, settings, controller support, and ongoing bug fixes.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current build is fully playable. Two players can team up over Steam to run a pancake stall together. The core loop is all there: making pancakes, handling orders, dealing with chaos, and shoving, throwing, and sabotaging each other.
Some art and audio are unfinished, and game feel, balance, and online stability are still being polished. If you’d like to help us shape it, we’d love to have you on board now.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to adjust the price gradually as new content and features are added. Players who buy during Early Access get the full version at no extra cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We’ll stay in touch with players through the Steam discussion forums, Discord and other channels, and we’ll post regular dev logs and patch notes about what we’re working on and why.

Bug reports and suggestions will directly shape our priorities, especially things like game feel, pacing, and what’s actually funny, which only come out when people play together. Before we commit to bigger new features, we plan to ask the community what they think first.”

About This Game

Serve It Hot. Handle the Rush Together.

What does it take to run a jianbing shop? Prep your ingredients, spread the batter, crack an egg, brush on some sauce, add a crispy cracker, and hand a piping-hot Chinese crepe to your customer.

Sounds simple—until the orders pile up, ingredients run low, and your partner starts goofing around.

Make Every Jianbing by Hand

From the first ladle of batter to the final fold, every step is in your hands. Guide the wooden spreader, watch the heat, brush on sauces, add your fillings, and wrap each order for serving. Practice makes perfect—but even when you’re on a roll, keep an eye on what your customers actually ordered.

Two Players. One Very Busy Little Shop.

One works the griddle while the other preps ingredients and restocks supplies. You add the fillings; your partner takes care of the wrapping. Find a rhythm that works for you both and get those orders out before your customers lose patience. When everything clicks, you’re a dream team. When it doesn’t, even “Pass me that!” can turn into a kitchen catastrophe.

Lend a Hand—or Stir Up Trouble

Toss things around, give your partner a shove, or pick them up and carry them away. Sometimes, a little mischief is just too tempting, even during business hours. But when a fire breaks out or things go sideways, you’ll need to pull together fast. Your customers are waiting, and the jianbing on the griddle won’t wait for you to finish fooling around.

Turn Today’s Hard Work into Tomorrow’s New Equipment

Prep, open up, take orders, collect your earnings, and see how the day went. Invest in new ingredients and equipment to gradually unlock more ways to run your shop. As business picks up, rethink your routine and help your little shop grow, one busy day at a time.

You’ll be open again tomorrow. Remember to bring the person who’s always ready to help—and just as ready to cause trouble.
