Calm the bees with smoke, open the hive, and select the honey-filled frames one by one. Scrape off the wax caps, turn the handle of the extractor, fill your jars, and hit the road with your sales van.

Every sale funds the next step for your farm. Set up more hives, open larger containers, increase your transport capacity, and purchase new land. Invest your earnings wisely; watch as your small farm operates a little faster and more efficiently with each turn.

As the business grows, you won’t have to do every step by hand. Semi-automatic workbenches, larger extractors, conveyors, and automatic loading systems reduce the post-harvest workload. Opening the hives and collecting the frames, however, will always be your job.
