What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to involve players early so we can shape Hauntrap based on real feedback from the community. Since the game is an asymmetric multiplayer title, balancing monsters, survivor abilities, and overall gameplay requires active player input. Early Access allows us to improve stability, refine mechanics, and expand the experience step by step together with our players.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Hauntrap to remain in Early Access for roughly 6–12 months. This estimate may change depending on player feedback, polish, stability, and the overall pace of development”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand Hauntrap with additional content, improvements, and refinements as development progresses. This may include new monsters, survivor roles, maps, quality-of-life updates, and further balancing adjustments. Our goal is to enhance replayability and enrich the asymmetric PvP experience, but the exact scope will be guided by player feedback during Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes core gameplay, online multiplayer, 6 playable monsters, 8 survivor roles, fuse-based objectives, and the final Hunt Phase. The game is fully playable but still in active development, and players may encounter bugs, balance issues, or missing polish. We will continue improving stability, performance, and gameplay depth as we update the game.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we add new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to involve the community through feedback channels, bug reports, balance discussions, and suggestions on our Discord server and social platforms. Player input will guide many of the improvements we make throughout Early Access”

About This Game

Hauntrap is an asymmetric multiplayer horror game where one player-controlled monster hunts down a team of survivors trapped inside an experimental facility.
No predictable AI.
No scripted jumpscares.
Your enemy thinks, adapts… and chases you.

Work together, repair the fuses, and escape through the main gate — but be warned:
placing the final fuse triggers the Hunt Phase, turning the monster into a ruthless predator with increased speed and tracking power.

🧟 PLAY AS ONE OF SIX UNIQUE MONSTERS

Each monster has its own playstyle, strengths, and terrifying abilities:

  • Tracker – Reveals survivor positions for a short period

  • Brute – High speed and massive damage, knocks down survivors instantly

  • Shade – Turns invisible and ambushes unsuspecting players

  • Mimic – Disguises as any survivor and blends into the team

  • Disruptor – Darkens the level and disables survivor flashlights

  • Toxic – Spreads dangerous gas that follows survivor paths

Every ability has its own cooldown, making each chase unpredictable and deadly.

🧍 SURVIVE AS ONE OF EIGHT SPECIALIZED SURVIVORS

Survivors aren’t helpless. Choose from different roles and playstyles:

  • Support – Heal teammates faster, revive more efficiently

  • Scout – Detect key items and objectives from afar

  • Tank – Withstand hits and survive longer during the Hunt Phase

  • Utility Roles – Fix generators, place fuses, and navigate the map faster

A coordinated team can outsmart even the strongest monster.
