What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are taking a very early access approach. EverRail will launch early in development. With rough edges, limited content, and ongoing iteration.

We learned from previous projects that working with players only late! can lead to polishing the wrong things. By releasing earlier, we can use our time and budget to improve the core experience based on real player behavior, not assumptions.

We are choosing a public early access instead of more closed tests because we want broader feedback. Not just from the most invested fans, but also from first time players and people with different expectations. That helps us spot unclear features, weak onboarding, and missing fun faster.

What you should expect at early access launch is a playable foundation focused on the core loops, driving the train, managing energy, scouting for information, and going on expeditions to bring back supplies for crafting and building. You should not expect a fully polished experience, a finished content scope, or final balance.

If you enjoy being part of a game while it is being built, and you want to share feedback that can shape the direction, you are welcome to join. If you prefer finished games with complete polish and a finalized feature set, it is better to wait. Steam refunds exist as a safety net, if the current state is not what you expected.

We will share a clear roadmap via Trello, patch regularly, and communicate what we are working on, what we are not working on, and why.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Once we release into Early Access, we plan EverRail to be in Early Access for 12 months or longer. During Early Access we want to make sure the game will meet our quality and quantity standards to ensure a successful full release. Early Access allows us to expand the world, polish gameplay systems, and integrate community-driven improvements. We’ll keep players updated regularly and adjust the timeline with more specific dates as we progress.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan that the full version will feature an expanded open world, new areas to explore, much more content, more side quests, more items and equipment to craft, as well as refined combat and survival mechanics. We also plan to add full voice acting, a full localization, improved performance, and deeper environmental storytelling. Player feedback will guide improvements to controls, and overall game balance and our Trello Board will show even more details about upcoming content and features”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the core gameplay loop: train driving, on foot exploration, and glider flying. It also features compelling survival-, combat- and crafting-mechanics as well as a large procedural open world to explore. Single- and online Multiplayer is supported. While some systems are still in development, the game is stable and offers several hours of engaging content. We’ll be updating regularly with new features, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements. The game is in early stage. We do not want to repeat our mistakes from the past of releasing to late with no time and budget left to shape the game with the community.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we plan to increase the price after Early Access. Early supporters will benefit from a lower entry price and exclusive access to development updates, and “behind the scenes” content as a reward for joining us early and helping us shape the game’s future.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We’ll be actively engaging with our community through Discord, Steam, and Trello. Players will be invited to participate in feedback surveys, vote on features, and join Q&A sessions with the dev team to make sure their voice will help shape EverRail.”

About This Game

The train is your home. Your factory. Your life support. Keep it charging. Keep it moving. Run out of Energy, and you die.

Craft, upgrade, explore lost places, gather resources on expeditions, and build your train from the inside out

Every time you die, you take the role of another passenger on the train. As long as passengers remain, you can respawn and keep exploring the procedural world. New passengers can be found in points of interest and dungeons.

Use gliders and drones for scouting, scan the environment, harvest resources, and collect rare isotopes from dangerous clouds.

Go on expeditions solo or in one to four player co-op. Take on different roles, explore dungeons with varying difficulty and enemies, use different weapons and traps, and loot as much as possible before your batteries run dry.

  • Train-Based Survival
our train is a moving survival system. Energy production, battery charge, heat, and life support are all tied to motion and upgrades. Every decision you make affects whether the train keeps running or slowly turns into a frozen coffin. Managing power, speed, and systems is as critical as fighting enemies, and stopping at the wrong time can mean death.

  • Glider Scouting and Resource Gathering
Use gliders to gain a tactical overview of the world. Scout routes ahead of the train, mark points of interest, and reach otherwise inaccessible areas. Harvest resources and rare isotopes from hazardous clouds while managing altitude, tether range, and remaining power to make it back alive.

  • On-Foot Expeditions
Leave the train behind and enter dangerous locations on foot. Explore factories, ruins, and dungeons filled with enemies, traps, and environmental hazards. Time is always against you as your batteries drain, forcing you to balance combat, looting, and exploration before you are cut off from power.

  • Craft. Build. Upgrade.
Turn what you find into survival advantages. Craft gear, weapons, tools, and modules, upgrade train systems, and redesign the interior of your wagons to support longer journeys. Every upgrade changes how you survive, fight, and explore, turning the train into a fully customizable mobile base.

  • Dynamic Winter Wasteland
Travel through an infinite procedurally generated world shaped by ice and decay. No journey is the same. Weather, terrain, enemies, and resource distribution constantly shift, forcing adaptation and planning. As long as passengers remain on board, you can continue pushing deeper into the frozen wasteland.

  • Multiplayer - Co-Op

EverRail is built for shared survival with seamless drop in and drop out co op for up to four players. All players share one train, one energy system, and one set of resources, while taking on different roles like driving, glider scouting, crafting, repairs, and passenger management. On expeditions, teamwork is essential to survive combat, secure loot, and make it back before the cold and the draining battery end the run.
