What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are taking a very early access approach. EverRail will launch early in development. With rough edges, limited content, and ongoing iteration.

We learned from previous projects that working with players only late! can lead to polishing the wrong things. By releasing earlier, we can use our time and budget to improve the core experience based on real player behavior, not assumptions.

We are choosing a public early access instead of more closed tests because we want broader feedback. Not just from the most invested fans, but also from first time players and people with different expectations. That helps us spot unclear features, weak onboarding, and missing fun faster.

What you should expect at early access launch is a playable foundation focused on the core loops, driving the train, managing energy, scouting for information, and going on expeditions to bring back supplies for crafting and building. You should not expect a fully polished experience, a finished content scope, or final balance.

If you enjoy being part of a game while it is being built, and you want to share feedback that can shape the direction, you are welcome to join. If you prefer finished games with complete polish and a finalized feature set, it is better to wait. Steam refunds exist as a safety net, if the current state is not what you expected.

We will share a clear roadmap via Trello, patch regularly, and communicate what we are working on, what we are not working on, and why.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Once we release into Early Access, we plan EverRail to be in Early Access for 12 months or longer. During Early Access we want to make sure the game will meet our quality and quantity standards to ensure a successful full release. Early Access allows us to expand the world, polish gameplay systems, and integrate community-driven improvements. We’ll keep players updated regularly and adjust the timeline with more specific dates as we progress.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan that the full version will feature an expanded open world, new areas to explore, much more content, more side quests, more items and equipment to craft, as well as refined combat and survival mechanics. We also plan to add full voice acting, a full localization, improved performance, and deeper environmental storytelling. Player feedback will guide improvements to controls, and overall game balance and our Trello Board will show even more details about upcoming content and features”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the core gameplay loop: train driving, on foot exploration, and glider flying. It also features compelling survival-, combat- and crafting-mechanics as well as a large procedural open world to explore. Single- and online Multiplayer is supported. While some systems are still in development, the game is stable and offers several hours of engaging content. We’ll be updating regularly with new features, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements. The game is in early stage. We do not want to repeat our mistakes from the past of releasing to late with no time and budget left to shape the game with the community.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we plan to increase the price after Early Access. Early supporters will benefit from a lower entry price and exclusive access to development updates, and “behind the scenes” content as a reward for joining us early and helping us shape the game’s future.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We’ll be actively engaging with our community through Discord, Steam, and Trello. Players will be invited to participate in feedback surveys, vote on features, and join Q&A sessions with the dev team to make sure their voice will help shape EverRail.”

About This Game

Your train is your only refuge in an endless frozen world. When you die, another passenger steps forward and takes your place. As long as survivors remain, your journey continues. Rescue trapped passengers scattered in abandoned facilities across Inara and build up your society one survivor at a time.

It's your base, your shelter, and everyone aboard's last chance at survival. Explore the exomoon Inara solo or in co-op with up to 4 players.

Your mission for survival lies above everything. Venture into dangerous locations filled with valuable resources, technology, hidden secrets, and unforgiving battles. But if you explore for too long, you may risk losing everything.

The train's battery recharges while it's moving and drains when it stands still. Every expedition and every decision you make revolves around this single rule. Manage your train's power, maintain its systems, and never let the battery reach zero or your journey ends. Move or freeze.

Conquer Inara by crafting new weapons, armor, tools, gliders, and essential machinery. Expand and upgrade your train as you push farther along the tracks. Attach hundreds of new wagons to increase storage, boost production, and build out your own logistics.

Your glider puts eyes in the sky over the frozen landscape before you ever set foot on it. Scout new locations, harvest rare isotopes for crafting, and identify threats from above by deploying scan drones into the depths of Inara.

Inara Never Looks the Same Twice

Abandoned facilities, deadly anomalies, and survivors waiting to be rescued are scattered across a procedurally generated world that never repeats. Every run brings new routes, new dangers, and new reasons to keep the train running.

Shape EverRail with us

The exomoon is called Inara because the community chose that name. The lore exists because players helped us refine it. Throughout Early Access, EverRail is built alongside the players. Features, systems, game balance, and story will continue to evolve based on the community that keeps the train running.

So join our Steam Community and Discord and shape the game with us!
