Not so serious part
"The greatest consolation in life is to play Metro 2033." - Voltaire

More serious part
Metro 2033 is story-driven game inspired by the book of Dmitry Glukhovski, and it's story is settled in the post-apocalyptic world, where Russia was burned to ash by nuclear strike and people are forced to live in metro stations. If you thought they (people) would change thanks to this, then you are wrong. Fascism, communism and war between them, murders, counterfaiting (even thought it's hard), raiding of stations... Just like a world before the war. But there is also much bigger threat. Threat that big it can wipe out the last bits of mankind, living in underground...
[Spoiler alert, "omfg you ♥♥♥♥♥, how you dare spoilin' the story?!!!"]
You play as Artyom, young man, who was sent by Hunter, to venture throught many various locations until the Polis, the heart of Metro. Your home was attacked by very mysterious beasts, known as "Dark Ones". It's up to you if you either destroy them or you attempt to find a better solution. Includes free Duplet, bunch of nightmares, broken gas mask, and awesome LSD-like mushrooms!
Game is pretty cool, and it's even better when you do it in a stealthy (© Riddick) way - however, it's also harder to do it on stealth-only, since there is no option to knock-down enemies like in Last Light, and it's noticeable that stealth mechanics weren't implemented perfectly. On the other hand, it's nice challenge, and it's pretty rewarding.
+: Mushrooms, unusual weapons (well, except for well-known AK - thanks to this gun, people in Africa don't need doctors, grave diggers and shamans are enough), creepy tunels, ghosts, traps, Khan, Russian dubbing, those awesome watches, graphics and Ranger Hardcore mode.
-: Some mutants are pretty glitchy (they can jump through you and other strange surprises), some exteriors could be done better (Library is exception), some... you know, it's always "some" - that means it's nothing important. The only thing I would really complain about - it could be longer.
Recommended for: Stalker fans, Survival games fans (Ranger Hardcore is really survival), people who like to get scared, anyone who wants to have unique gaming experience.
11/10, would play again, I wonder why this "awesome" IGN gave it 6,9.
