Ce que les développeurs ont à dire :

“Welcome to the Early Access version of Dead Effect.

Please note that Dead Effect is currently in the Early Access phase, which means that we are still developing the game and bringing out new content. By getting the Early Access you’re not only supporting us, but you'll also get to follow the development and help us tune and improve the game to be the best it can be! We’re planning to improve the gameplay and technology and our Early Access customers will get a chance to experience these improvements first-hand during the Early Access phase. All our supporters will get a key to the final game and as a bonus, they will get a soundtrack of the game.

The Early Access includes
• 3 missions of the story campaign with gameplay that differs from the mobile version, with more rooms open to explore
• Survive mode with 3 missions and leaderboards
• Biohazard mode with 3 missions and leaderboards
• Full Dead Effect soundrack
• A basic set of achievements
• 9 unique weapons with full upgrades
• A new feature - flashlight is now available
• A new type of non-human enemy (similar to a trap on the walls)
• Explosives with postprocess effects (grenades, trip-mines)

The Early Access features
• Unique gameplay with a huge amount of infected enemies
• Richer environments than in the mobile version
• New high-resolution textures with normal maps and an improved metal look
• Real-time shadows
• Ragdoll physics
• Deeper storytelling (accessible through tablets present in-game)
• Improved particle effects and postprocess

Why Should I Buy Early Access?

You can take part in creating the PC version of the game by communicating with us about your ideas and suggestions. The game is currently scheduled to be released in the third quarter of 2014. Shape the game into something you want to play! By backing us now, you get to say your word on the design. Want a specific game mode? Don't think your favorite weapon is included? Let's hear it!
If there is enough interest and we raise enough money, we will also add multiplayer, co-op (players vs. zombies) and PvP. We also want to add language modifications.

Your support is absolutely vital to our efforts! We've decided to create the game without any investors, but to do that we need to find funding elsewhere. Doing it with our fans provides us with much more creative freedom.”

For the moment this is a basic iOS port and the game steel feels like a iOS game slightly enhanced for PC. But to me, if the dev's put their heart in this project they can deliver one of the best experiences in the FPS/horror/coop genre, I really want this game to become a full PC hit.

Dead Space & Mass Effect had a baby called Dead Effect, then Dead Effect got mixed up with Doom 3 then had a party at Killing Floor.

I'm playing it right now and I've gotta say, it seems solid. Most ports-to-PC often fall short but this one...it looks pretty good, the handling is pretty good and I love the idea behind it.
It's not horror in the sense of you ♥♥♥♥ting bricks in your undies, more like a survival horror. It's not over-loaded me with ammo and I genuinely feel like every bullet counts [there was a point where i missed a single shot and took a lot of damage for it]

I'd say it's already worth getting. Especially for the price. Imagine Dead Space meets DOOM 3 and you might have a mild idea of what the game is.

Dead Effect is an Early Access game that is worth the time and the cheap price tag. For me the look and the intensity of this game was quite enjoyable.

In the past I've been quite dismissive of Early Access titles and this has been based on a few notorious titles and the comments of famous YouTube personalities. It's not a perfect or finished game, but this is one title you don't have to worry about.

The game environment reminds me of Doom 3, and likely takes some inspiration from it. I like the graphics and it runs just fine on my old computer. The sound and music are really good and contribute to the overall experience. The voice acting isn't so great, but it's passable.

At first the game feels really slow, because it is not possible to sprint or jump; you move at one speed. The zombies don't move fast either, but when hordes of them are coming for you, the experience feels tense. If you let a couple of zombies get too close you're finished. A lack of quick save and check points adds to the tension; you really want to finish each episode in one go. If you die continuation is possible, but it'll cost you some in-game cash (don't worry, no micro-transactions or in-game spending of real world cash).

The game does have an auto-heal option, but one must play long enough to earn the right to activate this feature. It'll become clear this isn't necessary by that time anyway. I recommend never turning it on.

Included are 6 playable episodes, as well as 2 extra game modes, Survival and Biohazard. Survival mode requires fighting for a specified time, and Biohazard requires defeating a fixed number of waves of zombies. It's pretty clear from the most recent July 17th, 2014 update that these guys are hard at work. Co-op and multiplayer options are expected to be included if the development team gets enough support and feedback.

For me the game was enjoyable. I recommend it to someone looking for a gory, old school FPS experience. Considering this game is made by a team of 5 guys, I have to say: GOOD JOB!
