The Version 1.75 update to One Way Heroics includes the following changes:

  • Fixed a bug where if multiple spear attacks occurred, two additional attacks would follow each one.

  • Increased the drop rate for Slender Spear by 1.5x.

  • Increased the chance that Slender Spear will appear in shops by 1.2x.

  • The “My First Vault” and “My First Perk” achievements will now automatically be obtained upon starting the game if you meet the prerequisites. This was done because if you copied save data from other DRM-free versions for instance, there was a chance that these two achievements would become unobtainable.

  • Added a little more content to Fairy Iris’ guide.

  • Added content to the Readme; now includes some of the FAQ.

Hi everyone!

We're overjoyed to see that One Way Heroics is so popular, and everyone is enjoying the game. We've been getting amazing feedback from all of you, and we wanted to deliver an update that would address some pressing issues.

As of this announcement, the new update is now live.

Below you'll find a short patch notes list.

- The Berserk skill's duration has been extended from 12 turns to 15 turns.

Adventurer's Journal
- Victory text for heroes that have saved the world has been changed from red to green for readability.

- Various localization adjustments have been made based on player feedback.

Across all dimensions, the only constant is Darkness! A procedurally generated RPG-roguelike journey across the multiverse!

In One Way Heroics, you take on the role of an intrepid adventurer who must travel across the land and face the Demon Lord before a mysterious darkness engulfs everything.

Darkness always approaches from the left, and with each movement, attack and action you take, the darkness creeps ever closer. Forced to run right, you'll encounter any number of monsters, allies, thieves and shops on your desperate journey to stop the end of everything.

The good news is that you don't just have access to one world. You have access to all of them. Born with the mysterious power to travel to other dimensions, you can choose which dimension you wish to travel to in order to get to the Demon Lord.

Dimensions vary based on their name. One might be full of lush forest landscapes full of adorable animals and cunning thieves, while another might be full of corrupted hellscapes infested with demons. You might find likeminded heroes willing to journey with you, or you might meet no one and be forced to venture into the unknown alone.

Like a dimension you previously visited? Simply input the name at the Dimensional selection screen before you begin your journey. Want to try your luck with a random dimension? Type any word that pops into your head, and watch as One Way Heroics builds you a world based on the name you chose.

Infinite permutations. Infinite worlds. Infinite adventure.

*This game supports Cloud Saves for most system data including clear data and unlockables, however mid-game saves do not carry over.

Eu joguei apenas quatro horas desse jogo, e nem consegui muitas conquistas. Mas, resolvei escrever essa analise pela minha surpresa ao ver que um jogo no qual eu paguei 5 reais era otimo. E um jogo que te coloca em situaçoes de risco e voce tem de usar as suas coisas da melhor maneira pra poder sobreviver, assim como todo bom RPG. Ele tem uma historia, mas pude reparar que ele nao se prende tanto a isso, ele e mais focado no gameplay, que e muito bom.
Ele te coloca na tensao do "Demon Lord" que dependendo do modo de jogo que voce escolher, ele tem uma taxa de quilometros que vc anda pra aparecer ou ele simplesmente aparece a qualquer momento. Voce passa o jogo todo cuidando dos itens, pois precisa guardar alguns melhores pra usar com o Demon Lord.
Vale a pena comprar, vai te dar umas boas horas de diversao.
E raiva quando voce morrer.
Por que morrer nesse jogo e o que mais acontece.

Being a big fan of Anime, turn based RPG's and rogue-like games, I was very curious with One Way Heroics, having an accessible price, I decided to risk buying it and check it out, truth be told I'd never thought I'd love this game so much as I do, it completely caught me by surprise.

The mechanics are quite simple, you're forced to go eastwards in an 8 character string world (that is randomly generated each play-through) in order to avoid a mysterious mist that is covering the planet.

Each decision you take being a dialogue option, attacking, defending, healing, equipping and so on will be counted as a turn, each turn you do the mist will also do his in parallel so you'll have to make sure to not fall behind or your play-through will be over, so you'll have to have special attention to which decisions or paths you should take, sometimes you'll feel compelled to explore a dungeon and find new items but the mist can prove to be too risky since you'll always have that constant threat looming next to you.

You have different ways of ending one play-through depending of the difficulty and the game mode you're playing, you can achieve victory by killing the demon king, by reaching the end of the world, by killing a secret boss and so on, in order to spice it up the developers decided to make some random events, cities and quests to make the game more interesting and more unique in each play-through.

The game UI is quite simple and it does well its job, the game soundtracks are fun and memorable but they can get a bit repetitive after a while, the art style ain't phenomenal by any means but overall it has an interesting and unique presentation to it.

The game is very affordable and full of content, it has great replay value, so I'd like to recommend to all of you who is thinking about getting this underrated gem, you'll love it!

This game....oh God this game is so addictive.

The rule of a lot of RPGs is "The enjoyment curve doesn't get high enough on the graph until it's at around the middle part of the game's plot." A reason why a lot of RPGs are long and tedious. Most people who has a lot of stuff going on with their life doesn't have time to play RPGs straight in one sitting. Even though their playtime only consists of a few hours, it'll still take them days to weeks before they finish it. That's because they can't play in long durations.

One Way Heroics ignores this rule. It's a straightforward RPG with rouge-like elements. You don't need to explore hours in a dungeon. Here it'll only take you seconds. You don't need to grind. As levels are really not much of an importance later on. You don't need to get money, as you won't be spending a lot anyways. You don't need to look for secrets, as with each step you take the every growing darkness will engulf you if you don't keep moving forward(right).

The game is not real-time, not fast-paced, it is turn-based. Which means you have time to pause and think the actions you will make. And that is not noticeable until you play it. With each step you take at every turn, the whole world will move after you do. Enemies, allies, npcs, everything moves as you move. It uses a World Generator. Which means you can have different maps in every game you start. It generates random seeds at every reload of your save, with still keeping the same world and same map, but with different outcomes of enemies, treasures and such.

It is not repetitive as one might think. As with each new game, there will always be new stuff to unlock, and these stuff will make the game more enjoyable with each run.

The game is made from Wolf RPG Editor. The same game engine used on games like Mad Father and Densha. Which would explain the graphics. Not much of a complaint there since I am rather retro, I don't know about modern gamers though.

Update: The developer(s) of this game was also the creator(s) of the game engine. No wonder he/she/they used it instead of other ones like RPG Maker or etc. Quite fascinating.

Very recommended to people who likes old-school RPGs and/or doesn't have a lot of time to play lengthy RPGs.

A very simple RPG that will only take you minutes to finish. And with each new game, it gets more exciting and enjoyable.
